Neil: lol yeh i know what you mean, the strobe slipper is about the best thing I used. if you can gear low enough you could concider switching to a center diff? its a big step though.

Bondonutz: Thank you, appreciate that

Byte: hmmm, not so easy im afraid, each bit took about an hour, thats a lot of video!

suicideneil 08.10.2009 09:35 PM

Requires some BennyHill style video editing me thinks... :mdr:

Some action on my Lightning, I have lipo...... come on people!

CANDYMAN HAS LIPO :party::na:

$100 delivered, 2 x flightmax zippy things, 5000mah, 30C 3S (http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8587)

running side by side for 6s fun. Charging on an Icharger, in the end I cut the tap on one pack, joined them together and charge it like a 6s pack, all is well

machined me up some delrin trays, perfect fit, quite proud of these.

Need to have a rearrange in the chassis and move some things around. The power is great, my IB's were starting to loose there edge and now with 6s its a wheelie machine :) its as quick as my maxx now and easier to drive being a low truggy. Im concidering breaking up my maxx and selling it, maybe using the money to build a truggy chassis up and fit my maxx shell and wheels, like another evolution.

anyway, new lid and rims on the lightning too

Now thats all kind of sexy right there- Mike will be suing you for copyright though, such is the awesomeness of the chassis and battery tray design

Curious as to what you did with the balancing wires- did you run them both together into a single 6s tap, or something different ( quick diagram/photo )?

I dunno about parting out maxxBling though, that would mean the end of an era, though Im sure there would be buyers for the VBS and custom chassis- just make sure you take shed loads of Hi-res pictures and frame them as a momento.

I knew you'd like the lipos though- the feeling of power & ability to pull rolling wheelies beyond half throttle is just beautiful; grin inducing that lasts for hours afterwards...

Candyman2 06.13.2010 06:00 AM

sure thing, like this

http://www.ukmonsters.co.uk/lsp/balcell.gif

so I trimmed my taps so the little lug is still on one side, this way they only go in one way.

the removed one is just a dulpicate. As you advised me though, still need a powerful charger to do the 6s at 5 amps.

Sweeeeeet, now thats inspired work, even accounted for the 1 negative wire & rest being positive with the zippy balancing plug layout vs viceversa on the diagram

Not so sure on the crocodile clips > bullet connectors, but if they arent heating up then thats cool, nothing to worry about.

That thing has alot of power, wheelies really easily and goes like stink too

Candyman2 06.25.2011 04:59 PM

Hello mate, hope you are well.

Thanks, it gets the most use out of all my cars, very low and wide, doesnt roll over easy and so is very easy to drive.

Candyman2 12.21.2011 01:51 PM

Had a chassis re-design to get the motor out in front, painted a new shell too :)

Just amazing.

suicideneil 12.21.2011 03:55 PM

Man's got skill, not sure which layout I prefer as they are both so well executed

Same wheelbase or slightly longer now, kinda hard to judge?

coolhandcountry 12.21.2011 08:42 PM

Both designs look great.
I kind of like the layout of the second myself.
Move weight forward and weight down lower.
Great work either way.

Candyman2 12.22.2011 04:44 AM

managed to keep the wheelbase the same, it was a close fit with the T8 truggy motor.

I also made bigger heatsinks for te MGM esc :)

coolhandcountry 12.22.2011 02:35 PM

Do you like the forward motor better to drive?
