I have a track that always open and 5 minutes from my 2nd house. You can always ship it to me for testing

How do you think you are doing with gearing?

Bondonutz 02.20.2010 12:43 PM

It's definitely fast enough, haven't run it against another truggy yet to compare speeds tho.
It still is pretty cool here, 65 during the warmer days. The trucks temps have ben around 20-30 degrees above ambient. Haven't had anything over 100yet. I noticed a slight binding when I cleaned the truck after last test, I have to inspect that and I suspect temps will be even better.

I've been searching for a steering saver upgrade for the LST's, and havent really found anything other than those plastic stock style savers. Anyone know of a way to adapt the Muggy style saver system?

BTW, Bondo, I'll start a new thread here in a few days on my build(s) and quit highjacking yours. Ended up buying a Muggy too, so I think I might be setting up both trucks at the same time. Getting machining estimates right now for a custom center diff mount for the LST. Got some additional CAD work to get done on it.

Have a look here JT

Another member cut down the muggy setup so it would fit with less chassis mods. Need to get back and finish the 6x6... Soon.

Nice idea, but shipping will cost a small bundle. I think I'd rather be a little more patient and hope to get to the track myself soon enough.

Still waiting on Tekin to send the updated rotor also, whenever that'll be ??

bondo! you're slacking! update please?

OK,OK,OK ! I was going to wait till I had some video.

Last Thursday I spent the day at the track with my 4x4 Slashy and the LST2/Truggy.

The truggy was AWESOME !!!!! Handled predictably and went where I pointed it. It jumped better than I had hoped, nice and level. It was about 75 degrees outside and the RC's temps were perfect, nothing over 90degrees. I also got about (guessing)17-20minute runs with the 3300mah 5s packs. I spent the 2 packs getting used to the truck so I wasn't exactly killing it so my run times will shorten.
And I was very happy with the smart diff in the center, It's the bomb for sure. I only had the 2 5s packs with me and no charger, I packed light like a dummy. I brought the camera to get video but the freakin batterys were dead DAM.
My only complaint, I switched to the Losi 4.0lb white springs and they were still too heavy. The truck was bouncy but still felt planted. I found some Hot Racing 2.8lb springs and they are on the way. FYI the shocks are filled with 25wt Losi oil with stock pistons.
I'm going to be spending the next week or so working on my Jeep in my spare time, I will be hitting the track again soon and will be much better prepared I promise.

Update

I made a new tray out of 3/16" Kydex, this is awesoms stuff. Very easy to work with and super tough.

I also added another brace, didnt need it but makes me feel a little more secure.

Heres the body

I've decided to sell it as a roller with no tires, the body is still like new and the whole truck is very clean. Needs nothing but electronics.
