Side view with the ESC, It looks kind of fragile, but it is very stable and will "never" break..

Finding Mod1 pinions with 8mm bore was not easy. The first I found was at a brittish robot building page - the quality sucked big time!! Then I found these on a Belgian web-shop:

Last manufacturing step, make a holder for the extra 2s lipo, once again I made it from Delrin.

Just started to make the holes for the straps in the lipo trays.

It is extremely difficult to work with the kevlar - I guess that's why it is used as armor. The carbon fiber is very easy to work with, cutting, machining, grinding and drilling, no problems - kevlar is something else...

I also made a decent fastening for the shocks, M4 bolts/screws - but I do not think it will hold up for long..

We love it!

Regards the upper shock mounts, there are a few kits you can buy to reinforce that area, but its basically just an extra 'plate' that bridges together the upper mounting points for each shock, to relieve some stress on the screws/bolts. You could make a couple using either ~3-5mm thick aluminium, or a scrap piece of chassis material would be awesome.

Upgrade

I would hope that you could find something a little stronger to upgrade it with, like maybe aluminum shock towers. Either that or fab your own somehow. Those plastic towers will surely break in any kind of high speed crash. Everything you have fabricated up to now is absolutely awesome. Nice work. I am sure that you are capable enough to come up with a set of personal shock towers of your own after watching the rest of your efforts.
