1717 is 4mm mount screws @25mm spaceing

ZippyBasher 09.25.2010 05:52 PM

Yeah if the 1717 uses 4mm that sounds better. But not worried about the screw I mean the aluminum tap in the front endbell...

EDIT: Crap. Well I may tap two holes two 4mm...

I think that 4mm may be a wise move with the 1520, personally.

Anybody know if you get an email with tracking info? I ordered today and got my email receipt but I'm worried I ordered too late. How long does it take them to ship your order?

I ordered a 1512, 1518 and 1520! Insane prices.

Mine shipped the next day. I got an email with the tracking number.

I have just placed an order for a 1518 and a repair kit for my 1515. Those prices are crazy. I just hope I am not too late. $65 is just a crazy price for a motor like that.:surprised: I wanted to place an order for a few more of their motors but I am broke at the moment. It figures that Castle would have a sale when my wallet is almost empty.

Anyway I hope I am not too late and the order goes through.

i ordered my motors on Thursday (first day of sale) and i have still have not received any shipping info or tracking numbers. i got the order confirmation the same day though. oh well, i am patient and for this price, i don't mind waiting a little while for my motors.

for less than the price of spinning toasters (feigaos) we are getting some of the best motors out there. i was so close to buying a 1520 for full price about 3 months ago and i am so glad i decided to wait. i got both of my motors for less than the 1 would have cost.

Jahay 09.26.2010 05:22 PM

im in the same situation... but im sure you are quite busy right now with all the orders... no real rush, thanks

What's_nitro? 09.26.2010 08:38 PM

I think the motors I bought were on the first shelf next to the table they pack the orders on. Hence why they shipped so fast...

I'd bet most, if not all, of you get your tracking #'s tomorrow. Weekends tend to mess with shipping a bit.

Nard Cox 09.27.2010 08:26 AM

Why did shipping become so much more expensive. I wanted to place an order and need to pay $40 for 2 motors a friend of mine payed $33 for 9 motors and he lives 20km from me ... ???

Got my 2 motors today!! Thanks Castle!!

One quick question about the motors. I recently finished a nitro convertion of a savage and I basically have a stock savage flux with the 2200 motor. I also have a hot bodies Lightining Pro 2 EVO buggy without a motor. I just thought that I could put the 2200 motor on the buggy and get a lower kv motor for the flux, as it is a heavier vehicle (and the prices of the castle motors are very nice right now!). Should I get the 1512 or the 1518 motor? Both are 1800kv, what I'm not sure about is the 1.5 turn vs 1 turn difference. As additional information, I may change to a XL chassis down the road, but right now the flux will remain mostly stock. Also, I am currently running in 4s with stock gearing, but I have a high speed idler on the mail as I want to gain more top speed.... I believe that with a lower kv motor my top speed will decrease, so a higher count pinion may be necessary. Thanks!

lincpimp 09.27.2010 10:57 AM

I would go with the 1520 motor myself, but the 1518 will do. The 1512 is one size smaller than your 2200 motor, and would be better suited to a buggy running 5s lipo.

Not sure what the kv is on the 1520 motor, but it must be around 1600kv, which is perfect for 6s lipo.

OptimusV6 09.27.2010 11:14 AM

1520 is 1600kv, I am asking because, the 2200 motor has plenty of torque as it is, and I dont want to buy more lipos right now, so I would have to adjust top speed with gearing (I could maybe get one 3s battery to run in 5s...) So... better to get a 1518 or 1520 and move the 2200kv motor to the buggy, right?

If I may ask, why do you prefer the 1520? Less kv so the motor can run more efficiently? I am just concern about the torque, I have already broken steel cvds with the 2200 motor.
