Does the wide arm kit make it bump steer or anything?
Seems it would throw things out a little.

pietrvds 12.16.2011 09:37 AM

ahaaa i was reading it wrong lol i thought your truck was 30mm widened on each side with those braces....

anyway you don't experience any troubles with the different angle/movement you now have and the dogbone going from diff output axle to drive axle???? strrrange i thought it was going to rub against the lower a-arm....

My arms are going back to the drawing table, i'm not happy with them lolz so it will take some more time but they will be better :)

the custom dogbones are finally arriving this monday or tuesday in the mail so i'm pretty psyched about that!!!! after a couple of months of waiting and looking for manufacturers :)))

will update soon :)

Knez 12.16.2011 06:22 PM

coolhandcountry - can you explain a bit your question... sorry just my english sometimes gives me trubels.

pietrvds - Truck is total widened for 30mm or there about... i got bad mesuring tool almost older than me
No trubles or any other problems with dogbones except the 2 short pins on FLM dogbones.
I really cant wait for your arms.. i am waching your thread closely :)
And dont forget to post the pic of the dogbones you receive!
oh wich manufaturer made yours ?

coolhandcountry 12.16.2011 08:35 PM

It looks as if your arms was moved out from factory positions.
Doesn't look like your steering linkage moved anything.
That in turn may make it drive differently over bumps cause of geometry defference.
Maybe the wheelbase makes it less noticable.

Knez 12.16.2011 08:51 PM

Arms where moved out form factory position as it is wide brace kit.
Before car was 44cm wide now is 47cm wide.

Steering linkage i replaced the shaft (Stock M4x70mm for M4x80mm)

From this stock HPI 93535 Turnbuckle M4x70mm
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HPI-93535-Tu...item336d63c80f

To this HPI Nitro Hellfire SS Turnbuckle M4x80mm Hellfire (2) HPI86535
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HPI-Nitro-He...item2316ed319b

Well i wanted wider car because of the 5b lenght.
How it will handle i do not know, but I got a feeling it will be good.
Test will show more. Wish it would stop raining for 1 freaking day.

pietrvds 12.27.2011 01:45 PM

WOOOOOOT! :)

and will you also purchase a 2028 for it or a leopard....?

Knez 12.27.2011 02:04 PM

You mean new motor for CD?

I got 1520 on it and will use tranny for now :)

What i was thinking is going to 8S with 18/44T.

pietrvds 12.27.2011 02:55 PM

What's the idea behind that? couldn't you just adjust gearing instead of using more cells? ;)

have you got any more news about those shocks? are they holding up ok?

Knez 12.27.2011 03:13 PM

Idea is a bit more speed and more driving time.

Shocks are holding so good, i wont change these for no others.
I did have only 3 hard tests, befor my antena started to glitch and so on.
But i am loving these.

pietrvds 12.27.2011 03:26 PM

very good to hear that! can't wait to test them also....
did you change the oil or did you leave it factory filled and just changed the white springs?
I like soft dampening alot so thought of drilling the pistons but if you're allready satisfied with the factory oil and the yellow springs ... ;)

Knez 12.27.2011 03:34 PM

I did not yet tested yellow springs, but i do have factory oil in shocks.
With white springs is driving ok but more for jumps and so.

Yellow are no way for jumps but driving should be a lot better as car sits very low, similar to S8 Bxe. i do have 3 preloaders or shims for springs on.
On front even 4 i think.

What i need to do is solder the 6mm connectors on MXL2 and go ut to test the yellow springs...
Hope i wont be too lazy..i mean the weather here and cold...i perfere a neat place :)

MXL2 is back on Savage 5b flux baja.
What i need to do is secure the front lights and set the angle for them.
Also need to buy some lipos as i sold them all and got a new baja 5b body to spray / paint.

Rear wing is now secured and it is not moving. What i did i used small plastic peace and just stick it to the wing,
turned upside down 1 side of alza upper racing shock kit wich is now working as a support for wing.

Now next to do is Green locktite on the motor pinion, if that goes loose i will try red locktite.

Here another video...
Steering much better now, i grinded a little so now it turns more.
I tested White springs in front with no preloaders and yellow springs "soft" at the rear with 3 preloaders on each shock.
Green locktite on motor pinion !!!
It holds for now, 3 runs all good.
