1717 on it's way.:party: I could not pass that up. Thats what I'm telling the wife anyway:whip: I saw on Castle's sight they recommend max 25.some volts. I run a123 which drop voltage considerably under load. I am thinking I can safely run 8s2p right? The vehicle only weighs 13.5lbs rtr, only 2wd. Do u think that setup would get me 50mph+ without overheating?

Well some here run the 1717 on 8s lipo and it does fine. I have run my 1717 on 6s lipo and it has a ton of power in a lst. I plan to run it in my 5th scale savvy on 6s and think it will do just fine. 8s1p a123 will drop to about 3v per cell under load, so you are looking at 24v. Should be fine.

Edit, saw you plan to run 8s2p, that will hold voltage better, but you should still be ok.

Thanks. Just wondered if someone had experiance with 8s on this motor. I'm not gonna gear it to the moon so figured it would be ok.

Another question: I assumed incorrectly that the 1717 had the same screw mount spacing as the kb motors. Now I need a different motor mount. Any availible mounts for the original e-maxx trans with the correct spacing for the 1717?
