I spoke to mike about this a while back - It is WIP as he wants one for himself :)
However priority is for the sliperential - This would be coming out as a kit after... |
Ok, so it isn't so simple thing to do. I think I just fix the gearbox. Center diff mount is nice system though, maybe in future, hehe..
|
Mike told me that he could get the 80mm medusa's in month or so. He will add them in his store then..
So I have think what else would I need.. Here's some preliminary list
About those alloy steering blocks. Are them good, or should I stick with the stock palstic ones? Just busted front blocks and the bearings won't stay in place. Something weird happened, maybe a bad shimming.. I got the tranny fixed, was pretty easy. <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/DI-wInAZDpgJgxvqY_HKNA"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SQWklNmt73I/AAAAAAAAAyg/REEuWPehzZI/s400/IMG_0567.jpg" /></a><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/gNhSSBt-fYzHrhR66rc0HQ"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SQWklesMVZI/AAAAAAAAAyk/7TKuO69ke5Q/s400/IMG_0568.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/kIS0hbQhT52pI_b3mLQIGQ"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/olbero/SQWklhK2iuI/AAAAAAAAAyo/2P9NFG50vJM/s400/IMG_0569.jpg" /></a><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/ZR8JG7Vm87d741hfvQs7iw"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/olbero/SQWklwIN9gI/AAAAAAAAAyM/4G1MyigBYf8/s400/IMG_0571.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/O_vgCjweXcpQlkKxIh0rRA"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/olbero/SQWkmOG0iwI/AAAAAAAAAyU/sWN5LKfVhUw/s400/IMG_0572.jpg" /></a> That white thing is heatshrink (haven't got pic after the heat up) just to secure the pin. Also put some glue in it |
I'd 'steer' clear of those Integy steering blocks (sorry, thats just not funny), i doubt they would hold up very well. If your willing to pay a little more, i've heard good things about the RD Racing axle carriers
|
Not sure what version I have but I do have the silver integy carriers and they do seem to be holding up ok...
|
Hey Arct1k, have you tried the bike inner tube for your batterys yet?
Does the integys carriers use the same bearings? |
No different bearings which are a minor pain - the V3's IIRC are OK.
No the the bike tire - got one from a friend but it was for a racing bike! lol |
I don’t think that I will purchase anything Integy anymore. I have had some of their stuff and I think the stock parts are sometimes better. Traxxas came out with some new hub carriers for the Revo. They have larger bearings and are reinforced better than the original ones. Here is a link, #4 and 5 on the list. You can get a set on ebay cheep. I am not sure if RCM has them. I was hoping that Someday FLM would make a set. I don’t understand why they don’t.
|
Thank you for your input, I know integys stuff isn't the best quality. But we'll see, 56$ isn't so big loss, heh. I might try the integys wheelie bar too..
So finally decided to get MMM V3 and I have been thinking about the motor, that should I after all get the Neu motor, instead of Medusa? Is it really worth to spend the extra +100$ to it? Hmmm...Maybe I could wait the combo too  but 2200kv motor with 6s2p A123.. Doesn't that ask for troubles? Any thoughts? |
I run a 1900kv motor with 6s2p of A123 cells- mucho powerful setup. Bearing in mind Castle say that you can use 6s lipo with the 2200kv motor, 6s of A123 is equal to 5s lipo, so its just about perfect (if you gear down a touch)

I forgot to take a picture of it but here's the same concept on my tmaxx/revo tranny. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...xx/Picture.jpg |

I'm currently running a Neu 1515 1Y on 6S lipos :mdr::whistle:.
|
Hehe, nice! So its 2200kv motor, how does it run? Any temp issues?
I really can't make my mind about the motor now. What should I do, wait for the MMM combo, wich I think will be available soon or get Medusa 80mm OR some nice Neu motor.. |
If I were you, I'll just buy whatever is available now (Neu) but if you have the patience to wait, then do so and just get the combo.
