lol, now u mention it, willing to sell urs? haaha Ur e-revo looks as perfect as ever. Hopefuoly mine will look 1/2 as good. My chasis is UGLIES thing i have ever seen. Blotches of silver adn blue. Im tyring it out on that, then i'll de-andodize it. If i mess up, it was a crap chassis anyway!

First of all ,I have to appreciate Dafni's wonderful work. The Bl Revo inspires me to have a try at it.
I have bought a brand-new Revo and some stuffs, then went starting my bl. Revo modification . I have installed a HV-MAXX(this is the only one I can get),CF chessis(my preference and for lightweight ),and E-MAXX tranny in my truck. I have a factory made a battery tray for me like Dafi's.After 3 weeks and lots of failure,I got my trays. They are not better than Dafni's ,have some cracks at the bend, cost me a lot mony and time. Finally, I installed another battery holders from Kyosho, before I got them. After 3 mintues test run on my top of floors(it was cold and dark there.),I am quite satisfied. 12 cells,70/12 geating ratio, stock rear center shaft in front ,aftermarket CVD in rear and 50K wt in both diffs. New ,I am waiting for my customized metal idler gears and trying to reduce more weight of my truck. :) |
Hey, it's still apleasure to be an inspiration to other people.
Welcome to the club, Gallagher. I'm glad you posted here. Many people sent me pictures of their converted Revo Dafni Style. Maybe you can post a pic, Gallagher? And when you get bored of the HV, you can look forward to get a nice sensorless BL combo here from Mikes selection. I tried many motors on this truck, and as we speak, I'm awaiting my Lipos. Cheers DAF |
CF? Ouch, that must be inpossible to bend.howd you do it without snapping?
|
I am still working on my truck and I take things apart from time to time.I will share my pics soon.
About the CF chassis,I do not try to bend is but to drill and attach posts beside it.:) |
ncbaz, the carbon fiber is easily bent with a heatgun.
|
That suprises me!
How much heat will make the CF bend? Is it to say the heat from engine mount could possibiliy be softened and become deformed in nitro revo? |
probbablyl not. If ti did, they woudltn be making a cf exhaust !
|
it probably takes 500 degrees to bend that chassis. i had a few things i bent with a mear heatgun. just some thin plate for esc mount and stuff and a rear caliper guard for my dirtbike. wasnt really hard but the only thing is that the clear coating ontop of the fibers with crack if not careful.

I have a further testrun in an asphalt ground.
The 1st speed is fine but a little noisy. The 2nd speed is quite fast but the truck is easy to roll over with about 1/3~1/2 throttle. Should I get a heavier rate of springs and heavier wt shock oil or lighten the weight of the truck? Do you guys have any suggestions to fix the problem? |
@squee;
CF is NOT bent with heat. It is made in that shape. |
wow, that is really nice, i gotta find myself soem TF trays....

I have got another pic from the buttom. That shows how I fix the trays:3 CF tubes in each side.
The trays are the combintion of TF trays and my customized Al tray which I planed to be my battery trays in the beginning. They are stronger and of easy access. The transmission is a little off the center line of the truck. This gives me annoying trubles about the mounting of the center shafts. I have to file the interferent spot of the chassis and the shafts. |
Well well, alot has happened since this thread.
Because I am building a purely race-oriented G2R ( http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2332 for some spy shots), I figured I should turn this Revoxx here into a serious basher. Here are some pics of how it looks now. It will probably get those setback arms, and hopefully a better body. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../Revoxx009.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../Revoxx010.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../Revoxx012.jpg |
What motor is that? I would guess a 1950 hi amp series.
