Cen racing has a LSD diff were two of the spyder gears are fixed on a plate & do not turn while the two other spyder gears do. Would this help at all ?.

I think he means that they can be set to lock, I know its an option on the CEN diff
|
Like locking hubs in a 1:1 truck diff? That would be nice! It would be the best of both worlds. :)
|
not sure if the F/R diffs will, but the center will
|
I heard about these from gene hickerson he is a Factory cen driver. He helped design there car & truggy. Here is a pic clik on the link & stoll 2/3 of the way down on the left.

I dont think a fully locked center would be the ticket, hard on parts....you need a good slipper for that. With the center diff you can get away without a slipper pretty easily, since you just need to power the single easiest wheel to spin.

Yeah, a centerdiff takes away a huge amount of stress. It's less stressful on the drivetrain at topspeed too (ballooning tires)
a wouldn't lock a centerdiff completely. Rather have something that is adjustable with the same resistance as 50k till 500k silicone oil.. I gave it some thoughts, it would be fair easy to make, you only need a modified cup and some other minor changes. |
Here is a better video to show the truck in action...track is muddy so cant get that video yet. But as you can see, the Bigmaximum doesnt cog, and the 300K oil is no where near locked.

Perhaps i can get Mike in the business of an adjustable centerdiff, i'll talk to him about it..
