1/8th Scale Electric Conversion Guide
1 Attachment(s)
Please find attached an 1/8th Scale conversion guide written by myself with lots of input from guys on the forum.
If you have any questions please let us know. Rgds Note: One mistake introduced in publication - if under geared INCREASE pinion size |
Very nice article. I was thinking though, why did you mention maxamps and not zippy or neu packs?
|
I don't see them referenced - Where abouts? There is a pic of them and the losi battery... No battery suppliers are listed in references.

Great article!

Good article. Very helpful must-to-know-facts on brushless conversions. Will ease alot of ppl's especially newbies for their first conversions  Good work!
|
Great article! My only comments are:
- E-Savage should read Savage Flux. The E-Sav is unchanged and remains brushed. - Gearing rules should read "use larger pinion" for the undergeared, hot motor scenario. |
Super article!
Thanks a lot! |
Very nice article.

I've never done a conversion but I wish I read that a year ago when I got my e-maxx

Hey guys is there any brushless conversion kits for the hellfire? If anybody knows of one please email me at devast8r3436@gmail.com thanks.
|
On the last paragraph of the first page, instead of 8ight you said 8-sight.
|
sorry? So any bl conversions for a hellfire?
|
Good article,
Very helpfull, thanks! One correction though: On page 3 it says Kv means Kilovolts. This is not true. KV means kilovolts = one thousand Volts (note the capital V). kv means rotations per volt, RPM/V (k = rotations) Just an FYI ;) |
Very helpful article. One thing not so clear though was the general rules for brushless gearing. It states if the motor is hot with a cool controller you're undergeared: use smaller pinion. If the motor is cool with a hot controller you're overgeared:use smaller pinion. They can't both need a smaller pinion. A hot motor would need a larger pinion wouldn't it?

yes, there is a misprint in there, he states that in first post
