My Muggy on 6s *vid*

Finished off my tires on Thursday and got it on tape. This thing is insane on 6s! It's over-geared so the motor got toasty and the MMM's fan was on the whole time but the Turnigy lipos held their own.

Edit: YouTube already muted it, need to post it to Photobucket I guess.

Great vid! Doesn't look like a 13lbs truck when you see it driving around like that. How hot did the medusa get?

Unsullied_Spy 08.14.2009 08:29 AM

Thanks. The Medusa has no problem moving that thing around. 13 pounds with those lipos sounds about right, it's actually closer to 16 with my MA packs in there :surprised: I forgot my temp gauge but I'm pretty good at guessing by feel and I'm guessing 160-170, it was toasty. I left it on and just sitting still for a little bit for the fan on the MMM to cool it down and after 30-45 seconds of just sitting it was still on and blowing hot air out so it was definitely hot as well. Going by feel I'd say the Turnigys were around 100 degrees, very impressive.

Very nice, the backflip from a standstill is the ultimate test of power. im going to go with the turnigy batteries as well. im happy to see the results im seeking. and the 1521 1y 1577kv should run cooler and let me get a good gear range. sweet vid, i think that the biggest thing ive ever seen do a backflip off the line

zeropointbug 08.14.2009 12:35 PM

Nice vid man.

You still owe a Forza date.

Foxracin 08.14.2009 12:37 PM

Seems to have plenty of power. lol Cool video.

sikeston34m 08.14.2009 02:14 PM

Wow! That 80mm Medusa hauls butt!

What version of the Turnigy Lipos are you running there?

I just picked up a pair of 2S 30C packs, but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet.

I like the barrel roll into the camera, nice bit of editing

Defintately an impressive setup though, got tons of power.

Definitely, torque and traction is everything. I'm still awe-stricken at how this gargantuan truck can be tossed around like a rag doll with that motor. Your 1521 on 6s will be all you need. It's larger, more powerful, and more efficient so you should be golden.

Definitely a power house, I wasn't able to push it to full speed in the space I had and it was still moving along just fine. I'd eyeball it at 50+ in the vid, plenty of speed. With that 16T pinion I should be able to get close to 70 though.

It's an incredible motor for the price, such a shame Medusa isn't making RC motors anymore. I think I paid around $140 for it and IMO it out-performs a comparable Neu 1515.

Those are the new 5AH 25-35C lipos. Not the top-of-the-line packs but they were about $40 each and so far they seem to be excellent packs for the $$.

Yeah, you get a good shot of my chassis brace  The camera shut off when I hit it but I grabbed the last frame and held it for a second for effect.

Certainly impressive, but I'm not going to be running it on 6s very often. On 4s with this gearing it still runs hotter than I'd like, I'm dropping down 2T on the pinion and running it on 4s until I want to shred another $50 in tires

Thanks, Shinedown rules! I thought the title was fitting as well.

loved the slomo at the beginning. Nice power!

magman 08.14.2009 08:59 PM

thats meaty, I love my muggy, everything else is lame in compairison, sorry to all other rcs, I own lots of them and they blow next to the muggster. I run the castle system on it usually on 5s but 6s if some retard feels he needs to see it faster than 50. I let the neighbor drive it and he melted the diff/spur and all. Thinking about a slipperential for it but I will wait till Lucias gets his truck and is cool before I spend my paypal $ =) It looks so cool with those wide azz tires but put some lighter/skinnier truggy ones on it and mine never got warm
