Shocks

I have Integy MSR4 Shocks piggyback shocks on my Emaxx. Im using 100 wt oil and the springs are being squeezed half way down. The problem is my truck still smacks the ground when I drop it from 20" or so off the ground.
Now my truck is pretty heavy at 10+lbs.
Im wondering if Traxxes Big Bore Shocks with the Blue Springs will work any better? I doubt anyone would know for sure unless they switched them out like Im thinking of doing.
Thought I'd ask and I know most here dont like Integy Shocks anyways:002:

The integys, as you said are junk, unless its a shelf-queen. 4 UE shocks would be the greatest. But if you dont care about a high price, the power strokes are a one of a kind shock. Both shocks are great ones, but i just prefer the simple and pretty look of the UE shocks. If you still want to run integys, id use 100wt oil with 1 hole piston with trinity XXtra stiff springs.

You can't beat the Powerstrokes. There IMHO the best, hands down.

Are these the Power Stroke shocks

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHKB3&P=0

and do I need 4 or 8 of them?

Actually I was wondering if I need 4 or 8 of the UE shocks If I go that route too.

You need 4 of the shocks and 4 of the by-pass shocks. So 8 total. The link from Tower Hobbies didn't work so I'm not sure. Look at them at Prolineracing.com

You would need 4 of the U.E. shocks

I am going to try 4 ue shocks with 4 bypass proline shocks as soon as the seller getsthem to me. I haven't heard if he has shipped them. I trust him but haven't chatted to him to see. I am wondering if this may be the ultimate set up.

I will try 4 UE Shocks first and then get 4 more if needed. Im guessing I will need them. I would like to buy the heaviest springs for the UE's, but dont want the spring kit either.

Sylvester 06.13.2006 07:38 PM

It comes with the necceasary springs for the desired stiffness.

coolhandcountry 06.13.2006 07:54 PM

The ue come with 2 black blue red and white with 4 shocks. The spring kit is nice for added selection of springs. The black are pretty stiff. They support a 11lb emaxx with 4 shocks.

Coolhand,
Can you let me know how that works for you(4 ue shocks with 4 bypass proline shocks)

I put my Integys up on Ebay... and guess what:032:

The Integy Shocks sold a few hours later and now I dont have any shocks :035:

So I grabbed some ol T-Maxx stock shocks I had with blue springs. Nope, na uh, aint workin. My basher is down...I mean way down :005:

coolhandcountry 06.16.2006 07:38 PM

I need to repair 3 of the 4 going on the truck. It may take a little bit. I think the others are on the way to. I will let you know how they do to a 8 ue shock set up.

The Fed Ex dude delivered my UE Shocks today:003: I assembled them and put them on my maxx. Black springs in rear and blues up front. No joy. I will need another set of the Super Shocks. The truck bottoms out when dropped from around 15".
I will say that 4 UE Super Shocks work better the 8 Integy MSR5 shocks though :027:

Sylvester 06.16.2006 09:11 PM

Great that you like the ue shocks! 8 should work awesome for you, capitol!

capitol 06.16.2006 09:17 PM

Want the truth? The Integys are for show and the UE Super Shocks are for GO! :028:

I want GO :p
