Well I got this xxx-t a few years ago for my birthday. Fun truck. About a year ago I broke the chassis and never got around to fixing it. The last few weeks I got it out and started to get it working again. I bought a graphite chassis on ebay along with a cheap servo to get it going. It also needs a diff and shock rebuild. It will end up brushless. Maybe soon if I can manage to get the jammed spur gear off the mamba. Or I'll keep that with my rustler and get a different motor for this. Anyways on to the pictures.

May i ask what is up with the rear wheels drilled in the back? :p

I thought the wheels were pretty funny. Nice xxx-t. I have heard great things about them. How would you compare it to the rustler in terms of durability?

A stock rustler has some weak spots (hingepins, gears) and then needs a few hopups to get it going. The xxx-t has a weak spot of the chassis if you have any head on crashes but besides that is very durable. Out of the 2 for ease of use the rustler would be higher but the xxx-t would be my choice out of the 2 because it doesn't have a need for any hopups except maybe new rod ends and a different bumper.

I ran a xxx-t for over 3 years, bashing and racing and never broke the chassis (or a-arms for that matter). The weak spot is the rear pivot block, easily remedied with an aluminum trinity upgrade. The tranny gave me problems towards the end of its time with the Lehner Basic.

The rustler needs a decent amount of money to compete with the mf1 or mf2, trust me. My friend raced mine quite a few times with the same electronics, and the xxx-t was just nicer and responded more consistently.

I have a XX-T and the chassis is fine, even after a high speed crash square into a cement curb that only broke the front bulk head. The only other part that has went bad was the plastic ball diff gear but that was my fault (forgot to check the diff lube after sitting for many years).


His neighbour was shooting at it because he was chasing their cat around with it. That’s where the holes in the rims came from!!

I got the chassis and servo in the mail a week ago. Got it all together and threw the mamba in there, along with a 3s2p lipo. This truck runs great, best handling truck I've driven. It also handles all the power amazingly (I'm sure that a word). I just need to find a place with some more dirt, I found some today but I just hope the neighbors will be too mad when they come home. Anyway onto the pictures. (I know I need to clean it)

Looks great and shoudl rip with the mamba in it. The neighbors shouldn't care too much... I mean it is brushless = very quiet.

I was talking about the neighbors getting mad about their yard and their dirt thrown everywhere.

I have a XXX-T as well, fun trucks, RPM makes some pretty cool rims. They are the only company I have found. I have broken just about everything, at least it is a cheap truck to fix. if you are looking for parts check out losipartshouse.com. I have used they for a year now and they get you the parts quick and cheap. good luck with the truck.

I got some new tires for the back because the others were just about slicks and one was tearing apart. It ran great till I was doing dougnets in the sand and the diff broke. It was way over due for a rebuild so it's ok.

Wow, that is one dusty car. Too bad about the diff, but it sounds like you still had fun, which is the main thing.

Its pretty fast and really heavy so it powerslides when it turns but it is really fun.

Is that a HV brushless? Oh... looks like it's brushed... what motor?

One thing you have got to do is toss those white Tamiya connectors and put some Deans or Andersons on there.... you will probably feel the difference right away. Or you can wait until the white connectors melt together and you are forced to replace them, lol...
