revo acting up...

hey guys i posted a thread a little ago saying how i got the revo... well its not exactly working like i had hoped. here are some problems

the tranny keeps coming loose (last time it did all i did was open it up and put it back together then it ran fine... and now it fell out again)

also the truck is going psycho when driving it. like im getting some crazy interference.

very bad range

not exactly going when i floor it.

pretty much something is wrong with the receiver/transmitter and i needa find out how to fix that tranny problem (i have the emaxx tranny)

thanks for your guys usuall help!

Are the tranny screw holes stripped? If so, I'd just get new a tranny case - it might have simply been put in and taken out too much before you got it. After all the threads are only plastic...

Brushed motors can be noisy because of the arcing of the brushes. I would move the radio as far away from any high current wires and the motors as possible.

no there not stripped.. i screwwed em in as tight as they can go. they wouldnt go anymore.

and ill try and reroute the the receiver as much as possible.

are u running a ubec, or a rx pack? and what kind of radio are u using?

t-maxxracer32 03.06.2007 02:17 PM

no im not running one yet...

and im using the jrsx3 system

BlackedOutREVO 03.06.2007 02:23 PM

how many cells do u have???

wrap ur rx in tin foil a few times so there a bunch on it, its cuts down interfearence so less glitching... helps me, but i went to specktrum, no probs now :D

t-maxxracer32 03.06.2007 03:02 PM

i dont have an rx yet. (an rx is a receiver pack right? lol...)

or does that mean wrap my receiver in tin foil?

thx

BlackedOutREVO 03.06.2007 03:22 PM

Also, do your motors have capacitors installed on them? If not, that could be a huge contributor to your glitching problem.

BlackedOutREVO 03.06.2007 03:44 PM

yeh thats true also, forgot about those lol

use 2 caps if u dont, on each motor

t-maxxracer32 03.06.2007 06:32 PM

where can i get these "capacitors" you talk of. boy i wish i was electronically advanced!!

radio shack haveem? if so a link would be coo! i could pickem up after work!

thanks as always guys

These should do it:
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

On each motor, you'll want one between each terminal and the motor can as well as one between both terminals.

t-maxxracer32 03.06.2007 08:43 PM

so wait how many do i need?

Sylvester 03.06.2007 08:52 PM

2 on each motor.

Mike.L 03.06.2007 08:55 PM

your going to need 6. Or 4 depends how badd the glitching is. I'd prefer 6 always.
