Vids Comin Soon!

lincpimp 03.27.2008 12:51 AM

Interesting, the name makes sense now that I read the spec. Still a bit girly-man for me, I prefer to not name my stuff. However stinkboy's xterminator/mammoth hybrid buggy/truggy thingy does not sound as good!

What's_nitro? 03.27.2008 12:59 AM

Nice hybrid you got there, Stinky.

Not sure about power rangers, maybe Captain Planet would do battle with this thing, but only if it was still nitro, now it is "green"!

Umm... Lucky guess I suppose. I haven't seen that profoundly educational program in about 15 years.

STINKYBOY13 03.27.2008 01:18 AM

I do kind like the sound of stinkboy's xterminator/mammoth hybrid buggy/truggy thingy. Thats sweet I think I will call it that now. That way I wont have to deal with Power Rangers or Captian Planet any More.

lincpimp 03.27.2008 01:26 AM

Hey man call it what you want, I was just being stupid, as I usually am.

Your first name for it sounds like what a certain california governor would like to call his you-know-what! Pity that ugly man he is married to would not let him!

STINKYBOY13 03.27.2008 01:33 AM

I know man no offense takin I'm a smart ass too. Thats why I posted it that way. Thanks for the input though.

MetalMan 03.27.2008 02:32 AM

Heh, a guy I work with converted a XT2 over to Mammoth ST suspension. But his is nitro, so yours is much better. It's lookin' clean!

brushlessboy16 03.27.2008 07:17 AM

Fast5sRevo88 03.27.2008 11:20 AM

Cheap Lipo on Ebay Here's the link:]

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=005

I have cycled it 4 times seems OK. Just learnin the lipo thing I figured for $60 can't beat it. If I screw it up No big loss.

It pushes this truck/buggy/hybrid/thingy around pretty good. Hard to tell with such a GIRLYMAN Setup. It wheelies on demand and gose plenty fast. For my grandma anyway.lol

lincpimp 03.28.2008 12:54 AM

If that is a girlyman setup, my kb45s must be EXTRA girlyman!

I don't know linc your GTP / MBX conversion dosen't look too girlyman to me. Nice conversion IMO! You're all right man. When you're sleepin. I'm guessin.

lincpimp 03.29.2008 12:06 AM

Thanks Stinky, I just threw it together as I had 3 of the kb45 motors, and had them for a while, so I figured that they could do with testing. They are great, can't wait to get the 8xl kb in the crt on 6s and see how it does!

And I am no better when I am sleeping, as I tend to fart alot, or so my wife says.

Ok disregaurd the link to the cheap lipo on Ebay. I thought I was havin good luck with it. 30 to 40 min. runtime on one 3500 mah batt. Cycles 1-3 performed great not really warm. Cycle #4 got alittle warm when I ran it. Cycle #5 kinda hot. Cycle #6 POOF!!!! No fire but serious gasses. Needless to say it got very hot that time. :whip:

So sorry for posting a link without testing things more.

Any ideas why it ballooned and poped. Was I just running it too hard? Or just cheap crap?

I ballanced it every charge & before every run. It never got over 75 when I was charging it. Never even charged it at 1C. Half that on all charges.

$10 a run I guess its still Better than Nitro :)

suicideneil 03.29.2008 02:10 PM

Damn, I've seen those lipos on ebay for a while, even concidered buying a few. My guess would be that they arent 20c, more like 10c, and they simply cooked. A couple in parallel (4s2p) might be a different story, but thats just speculation....

STINKYBOY13 03.29.2008 11:49 PM

I guess I'm a glutton for punishment I have two 3s 2200mah 25C or so they say. That I run in my RC18. I hooked them up in series. The MM armed and off I go. I took it easy and stopped before they got hot. Just had to see if it would work :) Got them at the same place, but the Mamba25 in theRC18 dose not have near as much amp draw as the MM of course. They work awesome for the mini!

Battery shoppin time for Stinky

lincpimp 03.30.2008 12:31 AM

Get yourself a flightpower, or neuenergy 5000 25c pack. They are great packs and well worth the money.

supralover72 03.30.2008 12:39 AM

NEU's are freaking beastly. My jammin runs like my 1/18th does now.

Those batts are good, I have a 5000 3s in my pede and it has plenty of power, the pack does not even get warm either!

aqwut 03.30.2008 12:55 AM

the HeCell batteries from Ebay aren't too bad... I think those are the same MaxAmps and TrueRC uses..

suicideneil 03.30.2008 10:40 AM

Hecells seashells on the seashore... Got a link please?

aqwut 03.30.2008 10:52 AM

This guy sells them, there use to be more sellers before... I don't know what happen to them... They use to sell it single cell also, it was much cheaper than TrueRC even...

Hmmm, do you think that the true rc 8000 and maxmaps 8000 packs are made of the same cells? If so that is why the truerc cells seem to be underrated and maxamps seem to be overrated.

aqwut 03.30.2008 01:17 PM

I remember seeing trueRC pack when he first made it.. and I saw hecell on it... I'm about 99.999% sure of this... and I betif you were to look @ maxamps first packs, I bet they were hecell batteries as well... but I'm only 99.999% sure of this..:intello:

lincpimp 03.30.2008 01:28 PM

Interesting, I wonder if anyone else has input on this?

lincpimp 03.30.2008 01:45 PM

Ok, found a pic of a hecell 4000 mah cell. The numbers on it look to be just the same as a maxamps cell. So I guess that you can buy the same cell for almost half the price. Wow, maxamps really are a great deal! NOT!

http://cgi.ebay.com/3-7V-4000-mah-25...QQcmdZViewItem

I wish I still had the pics of the maxmaps cells that I took apart. I may have it on my pc at work, and will check tomorrow.

suicideneil 03.30.2008 05:24 PM

But isnt the shrinkwrap and label worth the extra $$?....

STINKYBOY13 03.30.2008 11:56 PM

Hey Thanks Guys! I am a cheap Bastard so It looks like HeCells are my next adventure in the Land of Lipo. Like I said I went cheap so if I F'd up a batt it wouldn't be major $$$$. Being a Lipo newbee. I don't want to buy a High Dollar pack and FRY IT!!!

Here's my charging setup:
MRC 989 w/ Yuntong Smart Balancer

Best charger I have ever owned. Not bad for $150 NEW

Thanks Agin Jeff

Hey Linc. I think you're probably onto something here.

I have ran True RC packs in the E maxx before. All the while hearing everyone say 10C packs aren't all that good. They always performed good for me, but I stayed within the ratings with them.

I've never tried Maxamps packs because of their inflated pricing, but I have and do run 20C packs that are great quality.

If those are the same cells that Maxamps uses, it's no wonder why the disappointment.

It also explains Maxamps being elusive about discharge graphs and performance results. They are too "busy" for that.

When a product is "under-rated", it's users will hopefully consider this in fitting it to the application. Less Abuse = Longer Life = Greater Satisfaction

When a product is "over - rated", it's users will place it in an application expecting it to live up to it's ratings, but it doesn't. Over Current = Puffing = Very Short Life = Disappointment
