Most powerful motor for savage?
What is the most powerful motor for a savage on 6s with the 3 speed and flm conversion?
My vote goes to the Neu 1521 1y
I'd like something that pulls less amps.
Power = volts x amps
You said you want the most powerful motor, so you just contradicted yourself. |
How about a 11xl, or anything else large with about 1600kv, like a 1515?
I am going to run a KB45 8xl, 1700kv, on 6s lipo in a crt conversion. Should be a bit lighter than your savage though. I have the same savage as you and will most likely use a 14xl on 8s lipo. |
Go with a 1521 or 1527 in the 1500-1600kv range.

1515 2.5D is great on 6s in heavy truck.
Do you guys think that the KB45 8XL on 5s or 6s would be good? Since it is a 2-poler it should work well with a BK 9920 or 12020. Since this setup is going to be a "cheapo", and will be replaced rather quickly, I'd like to keep it inexpensive.
the KB45 8XL has tonnes of power... I've never used the big maxx before, but compared to my LMT 1950s... the KB-45 has more power... Of course, there's more heat build up due to the lower efficiency of the KB45.... But a fan does help quite a bit... it's awesome on 6S... but 8S is on 8S is just sick... but they pull some amps...
Most powerful, but less amps... :oh: 6S KB 45, 8XL may be much for that 9920.. you might need something a tad bigger, but depends on ur gearing too.. |
Will it fit on the FLM conversion?
The kb45 motors have a 6mm shaft, and a 30mm bolt pattern tapped for m4 thread screws. So you would need custom pinions, and a new mount for the flm savvy. And your battery choice may not be enough, depending on gearing. Get a pack that can do 100amps cont.
ARRRGHHH... I really don't want to deal with all of that. Any motor suggestions that will give a stupid amount of torque?
I got an idea-
Mega aCn 22/45/3 $175 MGM 4032 $70 (can't tell you where) 12s A123- $200 something from Battlepack.com Good? Bad? |
Well, you can turn the shaft down to 5mm ,and have the end bell drilled and tapped for the correct bolt patter/size.
Otherwise a 1515 neu would be killer?! |
From what I hear, the 22/45 are a cheaper equivelant to a 1515.
Ok, I have no experience with a mega, but people do speak highly of them.
