Tmaxx Brushless Convert
Hey all, just finished converting my 4-year old Tmaxx over to electric with a full brushless setup and thought I'd share some pics. This basher started off as [what’s now called] a Tmaxx “Classic” with a tiny .15 nitro motor. I built it up pretty good back in 2004 with a big-block .21 and lots of UE parts. It’s been sitting in a box for the past 3 years and I just recently dusted it off, ditched all the stinky nitro crap, and started the electric conversion. Here's my spec's:

No racetrack for me I’m a terrible driver; that’s why it’s built up with the stronger parts. If it breaks (frequently) replace it with something stronger, at least that’s my approach. I beat the crap out of this rig and have for years. It’s still going… |

an e-maxx tranny on a t-maxx chassis needs about 1/4 inch spacers under the transmission to fit perfectly, like xcntrk was mentioning about his center skid not fitting, he said he was going to space out the center skid, but driveshafts fit better if you space the tranny, as the e-maxx chassis is thicker and makes the tranny sit higher than on a t-maxx chassis

^Thanks I’ll have to look into that. Personaly I’d prefer the tranny to sit lower as the dogbones closer to level and therefore don’t wear as quickly. Too late for me, if I shim the tranny up I’ll have to hunt for new dogbones (again).

yes you could, but then you'd either have to use a servo and the t-maxxes mechanical brakes, or lock the tranny in second and use motor brakes

i'd be fine with keeping the reverse and 2speed. id hope 2 run an 8xl and MM on 4s

What kind of nitro engine do you have in that? It looks like a Ofna Hyper .21 correct?

I know this is an old thread but hopefully I get a reply I'm trying to build a brushless T-Maxx -> E-Maxx conversion. The problem I'm currently running into is that my T-Maxx Classic or T-Maxx .15 tranny slot is wider then the Brushless tranny for the E-Maxx has anyone found a solution for this?

Just sell that tmaxx classis you have and get a 3905 emaxx. Unless you have the diffs and drivetrain updated, the stock parts will not last long.

I have the diffs, motor, ECU, and a couple of Other Emaxx parts Including the plastic chassy. I can give you a full list if you want. I'm kinda lost.

I have a T-Maxx Classic as previously mentioned I'm converting over to Brushless. I have the ECU, Motor, Bateries, E-maxx Tranny and Diffs already my problems lye in the tranny is narrower then the mounting holes on the T-maxx chassie. I do have an Emaxx chassie but would prefer to use the aluminum one. Also switching to the E-maxx tranny changes the steering and other things. Also does anyone have a line on what drive shafts and axles I should use? If you guys would like a full list of what I have let me know
