looking to purchase lipo today!

will 1 bigmaximum with schulze 18.97 esc work with 2 5s 5000mah LIPO batts?....i have the dual setup now but do not seem to be able to harness the HORSES!....if i have to drop a motor i do not want 2-$250 batts laying around that i cant use!.....I AM LOOKOING FOR ADVISE!.....I STILL CANT DECIDE WHICH BATTS TO GET?

you could 2 packs in parallel, then you would have the equivalent of a 10,000mah 5s pack. However, I don't think the 18.97 will hold up to 10s without spectacularly exploding...

I would give these a shot,i have their 4000mah set in my raze, they are great packs and an even better price

So are you going to remove one of the pletts and run a single setup ? Or were you thinking of keeping the dual ESC's and using a 5s on each one ?

Need to know how you intend to hook these up before making recommendations.

will this plug work with hyperion charger/discharger?

Capacity: 5000mAh
Voltage: 5S/18.5v/5 cell
Discharge: 20C ~ 30C
Weight: 659g
Size: 160 x 51 x 40mm
Connectors: JST-XH for balance/charge and Deans style T-connector for discharge

what do you guys think?

plettenbergs 04.13.2008 10:30 AM

keeping duals for now!

i love the power!

plettenbergs 04.13.2008 10:38 AM

forementioned batts on back order?

dang...price seems toooo low !

Sammus 04.13.2008 10:38 AM

JST-XH is the most standard plug in that all the chinese brands use it. That said, all the "big" brands have their own plug style which is pretty annoying. In short, to use that plug you would need the hyperion -> XH balance plug converter, which seems to be sold out in every store I've managed to find that stocks hyperion gear. Either that or just get some 7 pin hyp plugs and rewire your batts.

plettenbergs 04.13.2008 01:21 PM

that being said?

i should probably get batts from thew place where i get the charger!..batts with HYperion charge jacks?...RIGHT?

plettenbergs 04.13.2008 01:39 PM

check out my order?

brushlessboy16 04.13.2008 01:46 PM

plettenbergs 04.13.2008 01:57 PM

i will wait!

i will give them a couple days to see if stock comes up!....i love the price!....i might work my way up to 5s....i am already having drive line issues!...WHAT DO YOU THINK?...i do not want to cook the esc,s

_paralyzed_ 04.13.2008 02:16 PM

its about time you go lipo! and you can't remove a pletty until we have video of the dual setup! Did you shear the roll pin of the input shaft? replace that weak pin with an allen wrench or drill bit, the tool grade steel lasts much better

plettenbergs 04.13.2008 02:32 PM

that would be the pin!

i considered a replacement pin....i do not want something loose inside my aluminum UlTRAMAXXED gears!....what will keep the steel from flying out?

_paralyzed_ 04.13.2008 02:37 PM

you need to use something large enough that it has to be pressed in. some even heat the shaft in an oven to expand it and then press in the pin. I ground the edges off an allen wrench and pressed it in with a vice and then dremeled off the excess. whether you go single or dual plettys I would do this upgrade, I've snapped two rollpins with a 6.5 hv maxx, and thats 1/5 the power of one pletty

LOL... I used an allen wrench as well... I just pressed it in with a big bench vice..

lincpimp 04.14.2008 12:56 AM

HAHA, I did the same, gotta love the bench vise!

aqwut 04.14.2008 10:08 AM

the allen wrench must've worked well, because it held up even when I had the 2280 on it..

plettenbergs 04.15.2008 08:30 PM
