When something is out of stock does this normally mean it is already on order for your next batch?

I'm intrested in Maximizer diffs' and silver Integy diff' housing which last time I looked are both out of stock (want to order together).

Yes, the items that are out of stock are on order typically. I did get the silver diff cups in stock, but the maxi diffs will be about a week. The FLM diff cups are in stock, and would accomplist the same thing as the maxi diff cups.

FLM diffs' are only 6065 allu' - won't be as strong (in theory)?

Stronger than plastic. The stock is platic. It holds somewhat. I say the flm will hold even after you rip the teeth of the gears. JMO

7075 is roughly twice the hardness (and strength) of 6061.
However, if they cost half as much but wear twice as fast then i guess they'd both be similar value for money.(again in theory)

Is it worth waiting for 7075 to come back in stock or not then?

You the man that has to make that decission. If you need them and want the in a hurry or can you wait. That is what you have to ask yourself. If run alot of power the best is upgrade the whole rear.

You buy the diff housing cost 30 a piece. diff cup 35 a piece. Not real sure on price. That is 65 for each one then you pay that twice. 130 for two rears. You can get the ue for 225 or so. I know prices not right just trying to make a point.

with a 12-14 cells setup the FLM cup should be fine! you need to invest some time to shimm diffs in general, but the invested time will pay off..

What is "shimm the diffs"?

Getting the gear mesh as tight as possible, without turning heavy... (you may not feel the tooth on the gears) It takes thin rings to make it all happen.

So just add washers to push the gears together basicly? That helps to stop wearing teeth?

It helps giving the gears a larger contact area, so they don't wear fast. the art of shimming is leaving as less play between the gears as possible, without giving resistance in the drivetrain.

7075 is about 1/3 stronger and 1/3 heavier than the 6061 aluminum. This strength difference is not noticed in the diff cup application, as the 6061 is plenty strong for the job(so, you wouldn't notice the difference with either cup-performance would be the same). New spider gears in a new diff cup requires very little shimming. As serum said, you want the mesh as tight as possible woithout any binding. When built properly, they can take quite a bit of punishment. The 1/8 diffs are an upgrade, as they can be tuned with diff oil and have more spider gears inside(so each each individual gear has less demand), with a price upgrade as well. I use both(different trucks) with no problems. I like the tunability of the 1/8 diffs, but the FLM cups inside aluminum cases work excellent on the track (I like lightweight oil for the track I typically run on, due to the rough terrain-more diff action = easier to keep straight).

Thanks for that, sorry to keep bothering you with these questions but I think I will order the cases/collar now, then when the Maximizer diffs' come in order them with the 9920?

I'm sure the FL diffs' are strong but prefer to spend a bit more for something more durable.

Would you say I am timing them right to when they would both be in stock?

Never worry about the questions, Nick. that is what the forums are here for! I doubt you will notice any difference in the diff cup application, but I should have the maximizer diff cups in this week(possibly as soon as Wedneday). The 9920 controllers will be a little while longer, though.

Then when Maximizer Diffs'/9920 come in stock get them together with a UBEC and 7XL. :D

Would I need oil for the MSR5s? What would you reccomend to be medium/stiff?

Yes, you will need oil. Use the single hole pistons and 80-100 weight oil(sounds like a heavy oil, but the piston holes are large, so this is necessary to achieve the proper dampening). I suppose I need to list shock oil, too! :) Thanks for keeping me on my toes!

I need alot!! I had that machined diff accident lol and well my diff is a wild monkey in the rear. The front just needs alittle comfort. :D

I will see about getting some. I take for granted that I have parts all over and can pick through and find most anythig for myself! A new set of spiders includes one shim, but various thicknesses would be best. I will see what I can dig up for you, William.

I didn't have the 80 weight shock oil in stock. Sorry about that. Your order shipped without it, though. I will get a large assortment tof shock oils and list them in the store. I have a bit of shock oil, but I will get most everything from 30 to 100 weight and list them soon. Thanks for the order!
