Here is the motor based on the Neu, but has beefed up bearings and no cooling holes. It is 2200 KV motor. They said it will go on sale in Two weeks.

Reverse?

Star Power.

Now that is one sweet looking vehicle. That Revo setup would make one awsome RTR vehicle if they would put that package together for an out of the box experience. It looks like Traxxas is finally listening to its customers and putting toegether some very nice R/C marvels. That Revo makes me want to lean into that side and try it out. I think Mike should make a nice new CNC extended chasis for that Revo setup. Looks like you are having fun at the RCX.

It doesn't need a reverse gear, it electric. Someone put a vid on youtube where they were talking to a traxxas guy about the e-revo. The traxxas guy said it had a 2 speed in it.

KaztheMinotaur 04.20.2008 06:41 AM

Does that Castle / Neu motor have a finned can or is that some kind of stripes or something?

In the side on picture they look like machined fins.

Hey Shark, you need to ask Novack if/when they are actually going to start making the conversion kits that they have had on their website (for what seems like forever, now).

The E-Revo in the pix at the top of this thread is more hopped up than just the motor/esc...looks like it has many of the aftermarket Traxxas hop ups already. Hmmm...sway bars, push rods, 17mm...

rschoi_75 04.20.2008 02:50 PM

The motor looks real good

JERRY2KONE 04.20.2008 03:26 PM

Honestly

Honestly I am willing to bet that there was not much of anything at the RCX that was stock:lol:. There isn't much glory in any of the manufacturers stock vehicles that we have not already seen:eyes:. Surely every vehicle there is hopped up in one way or another:party:. Still that is how they get us to buy their stuff, and then spend more money getting hop ups to make them the way that we want them:yes:. Welcome to the world of R/C.

Clicking through the Traxxas promo pages it said that stock will be a 1-speed with a 2-speed option coming out.

Maybe with a 2-speed and one-way bearing they need a shifter for reverse driving.

I don't see the point really - with the power out there in BL (especially a Neu on 6S) there is really no need for a 2-speed. With the low-end torque output of a BL motor, a 2-speed doesn't provide much benefit. And from my experience with my LST2 on BL power - the shift between 1st and 2nd gear would usually pull the front wheels up and frequently cause a brutal back-flip at speed.

Apparently traxxas built a truck directly off of my wishlist :D. and e-revo with the MMM YAY!!!!

NOw only for it to be RTR...

Shark413 04.20.2008 09:27 PM

KaztheMinotaur, the Monster Max motor does have fins.

JThiessen, Novak gave away several kits at the show. They also had a bunch of hardened Mod 1 pinions packaged and ready to go.

jnev 04.20.2008 10:33 PM

I don't know who else tried to spin the shaft on the MMM motor but it was REALLY hard. Looks like it will have a hell of a ton of torque. :mdr:

The servo is for changing between 1st and 2nd, just like the e-maxx. It's not automatic like a nitro trans, so it doesn't have a one way bearing, otherwise that e-revo, and the e-maxxes would need mechanical brakes.

tt-01 mamba 04.21.2008 12:48 PM

i don't know what makes me drool more, the e-revo or the mmm :)

It would be nice if traxxas could figure out some sort of servo actuated auto shifting 2 speed. Some sort of sensor and and cntroller to shift the servo.

Sounds like a mod to the Optidrive would be perfect...

HelicopterPilot 04.22.2008 10:13 PM

Im going to wait until something like this available with modifications. That thing is wicked. It has everything I want short of lipo batteries.
