Castle Creations Mamba Monster maxx ready for release
2 Attachment(s)
They are making a 1515 1Y 2200kv version of the neu...
They are planning on selling pinions too and custom battery trays They also had a proprietry motor mount for a 777 Here are some pics I swiped... |
Nice. So does the MM have a usb port?
|
Thanks for the pics Chris! This is sweet.
I will be buying a few of these combos as I have a few dual tray vehicles and the 2200kv motor is great for 4s. I know that i will not be exploiting the Monster Max to its full potential on 4s, but it should be rock sold. |
did you get these pics from rc x?
|
The pics are from RCX... I don't believe it has USB on board I believe it is castlelink...
|
I can live with that, so long as my PC works with it- XP = good ya?... lol.
|
the esc is a monster LOL
Its big, but for the price, who cares |
Damn, couldn't they make it a bit smaller. It looks like a C4...well..sort of.
|
I see where they got the name monster from
|
How were the motor wires connected to the esc?
|
|
i have a mac will i be able to use the mmm
|
Gosh darn it I want that motor...
|
If you boot your mac into XP...

BTW: Nice pics of the MMM and motor! I like how Castle's motors have the leads coming out the side rather than the rear like a "real" Nue. I assume they are building them like the Mamba Max motors where the motor wires are flexible? Probably a good idea to keep people from breaking the motor wires. |
Just found this pic of the MMM in the new E-Revo:

Looks big enough to slap some wheels on it and drive it around. But hey... If it works I guess you just have to strap it to the top of the wing.:mdr: |
The MMM seems to be sized just right. Specially if you've seen the 40.160.
|
according to the info on rc caractions site the mud guards will be made out of a different plastic then the ones pictured.
|
God this is killing me, Anyone find out when the package will be released. I mean when it is projected to be released. And if I am correct as was mentioned before we are looking at $300.00 for the package right? Absolutly nutz
|
Last quote I heard was "summer" from Patrick somehwere on this board. I dont think anyone knows more than that yet.
|
Here is a short Vid of the MMM I found

after looking at all the pics....and this vid....and traxxas' new e-revo......:yipi:.....i believe i'm going to be buying two of these...one for my 8ight-t and one for for e-revo......:intello: .....holy mamba batman!!!!!:gasp:....can't wait.....
|
The motor can looks like an align 600XL. Nice!
|
Motor looks to be about 40mm in diameter. I am not very familiar with the neu finned cans, but they are about 43mm in diameter? Looks good, can't wait to get my hands on one!

I like the look of that motor, hopefully they still look like that when it's released. Looks much better suited to the e-revo than the old titans and that dodgy evx-2. |
@brianG; yes, those wires are flexible; one of the users of the CC team mentioned it somewhere. The wires are, unlike the normal neu motors, flexible silicone wires.
The OEM controller won't use plugs either; it will come with wires, to compensate the short wires that use to be on motors. |
Sweet stuff. One more day till we can preorder. I can't wait.
Just watched the video. That motor looks sweet. The big bolts holdint it together are a great idea. I haope they bring out a few more KV options but i'm sure they will. Actually thats probably the motor I will need cause I want to run a 4s buggy soon. |
More Monster Max
Here are more pictures of the MMM. The Castle staff on hand said it will go on sale in two weeks.
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r115/shark413/MM.jpg Very nice http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...13/MMmotor.jpg Motor based on the Neu 1515, but beefed up bearings and no cooling holes. 2200 kv. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...413/MMback.jpg |

Hmmm....the motor seems like a Hacker C40 at first glance.
|
When the mm esc hits the shelves it will be a FEEDING FRENZY!!!
I'll bet they will sell out w/ in 24hrs. |
I dont think so. I think if you order one you should be good cuz they wont start shipping out until two weeks after so what you paying for is basically a back order and in the mean time that will be making more. Atleast from my understanding you will have 1 week to order then straight from castle creations for a cheaper price. Then after that week is up you will no longer be able to buy them from castle creations and you will have tp get them from a distributer.

Man, I am telling you this is gonna not only make my truck sick in speed. But killer in the looks dept. Glad Castle isnt going to make em green this time around. I was gonna try something else out. But I think I will just wait for the whole package. The problem I am having with just the ESC is that they said the ESC would be released with the wires already soldered in rather then the plugs. I would much rather have the plugs for sure. HV bananna plugs. Now if someone would make a 3 pronged plug like the Losi 2 pronged that holds the bananna tips. This design seems a little nicer and more acessable to handle
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...SB9613-250.jpg Bu the way. I dont know if this is actuall or not. But this is claimed to be whats inside the Monster case. http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...027/image3.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...027/image2.jpg http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...n027/image.jpg |
OK, now another something new I found. So which is it, A green motor or a Black motor? or is there a differance.
