NJ/NY/PA Drivers
The barn floor (where the RCM bash is held) opens in a couple of weeks.
Does anyone fancy a brushless get together? I was hoping we could organize a once a month get together - Bring a few cars - whatever we have an setup from classes - MT, CRT.5, Truggy and Buggy... I can run all of the above - any interest? Cheers |
If my daughter goes to Florida for the summer break, I'll be able to make it, but I haven't raced in ages.
|
I live in the Syracuse, NY area and would love to make a trip once this summer. At $3.60+/gallon there's no way I could do it more than once or twice as its easily 200+ miles one way and even 17MPG in my truck would cost me at least $80 roundtrip. But if you can get people there on a Sunday you can count me in for at least one trip!

I might be interested also.
What town is The Barn Floor in? |

Its really easy to get to. Its just off the NY Thruway on rt 17. The barn is just off the hwy. Its a really nice place to race.
Depending on when it is, I will make my best effort to come again. I have family in town so its easy for me. I would go up for the weekend. I would bring the CRT.5 and my Revo. There should be plantly of .5s by this point for their own class hopefully. Surely lots of trugs as well. The nitro guys there are always open to the BL as well, so maybe even some mixed class action. :) |
When will the next RCM bash be?
|
Do they have a regulation on how many cells we can use? If I go, I'll be trying 10S on race condition.
|
There was no limits or such last year - just don't burn the barn down or any cars (big ones) :)
There is only one RCM bash a year - I offered to organise a second early summer but didn't get many takers - was hoping we could get 6-10 NJ/NY/PA based folks to go up every couple of months... No prizes etc but just some healthy competition - almost a bash on a track type thing... |

Failing that I'm central for Lutach and Finnster - Anyone fancy a bash and BBQ?
I think fin's a 10s monster to... |
I am in Central PA so I would take I-80 to I-81 to I-84. Looks like it isn't too far off I-84 either.
|
I'm in for a once-a-month Electric gathering. I usually visit The Barn 2-3 times per year, would be nice to go a few more times when there are some other electrics there.

I'd think about 1 or 2 times but I am afraid I would look like a fool with my truck. :( Maybe next year I will have something a little more worthy. I have had a viewpoint that it has to break before it gets upgraded.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. You won't be finding too many "pros" lol. Just look at some of the vids I put up on Youtube (linked in sig) and see some of the driving. Needless to say at the last bash there was a high casusalty rate between some of the new to racing drivers and the huge jumps they built at the track. Everyone is very laid back and just out to have a good time. You should come if you can swing it regardless of your truck or skills. The bash was my 1st time on the track, my setup was all wrong, and I still had a blast (and a 2nd place trophy ;) ) |

When is this event for RCM, or has it yet to be scheduled? I do some business travel up to NJ frequently, who knows with some lucky timing might be able to make it work...
|
I'll think about it. I am running 6s A123 (About 1/2 the voltage of the 10S guys)
Stock shocks, Wanderer motor, and a bunch of RPM stuff. The biggest issue is most likely the Suspension and where the weight is. I thought about coming just to learn and get some advise on easy improvementS to my truck. I have not run any of my equipment on a real track yet. Unless you count 15 years ago when I had a P.O.S. bandit that could barely make it around the track (No slipper or anything!!) I'll watch and see what this develops into. Highflier |
I'm 45 mins from chester. Would be willing to get together

Here was a race w/ the nitro MTs from the 07 Bash. My suspension was HORRIBLE. I ever raced before and just bashed, and the setup was so screwed up for the jumps. I could not land on my wheels lol. Had fun regardless, learned alot about racing, and figure out what I needed to start doing with the truck to make it right on the track. Came back a few weeks later at the RCMTRA's, raced some nitro Revo's, and actually led a few laps...ended up in 4th place as I was a rook and made a lot of errors, but the learning and experience is priceless. I urge anybody to go just to have fun and not worry about doing good or looking like an idiot. I certainly did 1st race and still came out fine. |
Sorry I was away for the long w/e...
Does the 31st May / 1st June work for PPL? LMK and I will reach out to the barn thx... |

Looks good to me, I just hope to have my E-Revo by then...
|
I am uncommited, but the date you recommend will not impact my decision :) Maybe I will have my MMM by then :)

Sounds good to me. I will have had surgery 9 days earlier but I will try to come play if I am healed up.
|
sounds good as long as the e-revo gets released by then. I sold my g2r, BL E-MAXX will be on ebay in about 2 weeks. Already ore-ordered my e-revo ($420 w/ shipping from hobbypeople.net) and hopefully the mmm combos will be out to. Otherwise the titans are capable of near 30 MPH and 10 min runs on 4s 6000mah and someone has already said that 30MPH/10 min is really all that's needed. Reagardless of all that I'm in if I have the E-REVO by then
