Ironman

Went out to see Ironman today, was a very good movie and to my surprise my wife loved it. Puts "tinkering in the garage to a new level"

lincpimp 05.03.2008 11:54 PM

Going to see it tomorrow, can't wait!!!!

magman 05.04.2008 12:03 AM

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.04.2008 12:17 AM

Yeah ill be seeing it soon. My workplace has a deal with the cinemas so I get to watch movies for free

Fkyx 05.04.2008 12:26 AM

Great movie. Saw it in the matinee today, and it's really one of the better movies I've gone out to see. Worth whatever you pay to see it.

Next on the list is Hancock.

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.04.2008 01:21 AM

The new batman movie hasn't been to Australia yet. I heard that there were taking the part out of the movie were the Joker (Heath Ledger) was died in a body bag becuase it brings bad thoughts back to peole you loved Heath

azjc 05.04.2008 01:28 AM

Oh, I thought it was already been out and done over there

JERRY2KONE 05.04.2008 10:40 AM

Awesome! ! ! ! !

Well "Ironman" is out here in Brussels as well:yipi:. Our daughter and her husband are visiting from California on their European tour and we took them to see it this afternoon. I must say I am impressed with this one:party:. After seeing the new AVP movie and realizing what a disapointment that one was, this movie was extremely well done. With the technology used and all of the great special effects this is a must see for the spring/summer season. I look forward to seeing the sequal next year. Take a date or just a few friends to this one, as it is worth the money and the whole family will enjoy it:yes:.

Mike_D 05.04.2008 12:20 PM

I saw Ironman on Friday night and it was incredible. Wait for all the credits to roll through at the end of the movie and you'll see a little suprise.

Ironman getting a polish?

Mike_D 05.04.2008 06:08 PM

 Not that good.

_paralyzed_ 05.04.2008 08:22 PM

Carmike? Carmichael? Cinemas let people in wheelchairs watch movies for free. More than once I've taken a friend and given them my spare wheelchair and we view for free! Offsets the cost of the popcorn. Guess I'm going to have to see Ironman.

Mike_D 05.04.2008 08:35 PM

AMC theatres also offer free movies to those in wheelchairs as well.

_paralyzed_ 05.04.2008 08:51 PM

Good to hear. I'd feel bad about taking advantage of the situation, but like I said, I buy their popcorn and soda, I think they're still coming out ahead.

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.05.2008 05:21 AM

They just had a preview of the Batman Movie on a tv show in Australia and they said it will be in cinemas in July

KaztheMinotaur 05.05.2008 08:26 AM

Is there any nudity, sexual situations, or cursing in Iron Man? I'd like to take my son to see it.

Mike_D 05.05.2008 09:09 AM

Swearing not that i remember, nudity none, and sexual scenes there is one but its very small. Overall i think it's a pretty kid friendly movie.

KaztheMinotaur 05.05.2008 10:25 AM

Well thats good.

azjc 05.05.2008 10:55 AM

I have always thought that the theaters could let everybody in for free and still make money on thier overpriced popcorn, soda , and other junk......:-)

lincpimp 05.05.2008 11:32 AM

Actually, the theaters do not make much money on ticket sales. The movie distribution companies get the bulk of tickets sales, like 90% for the first week or so, then the ratio goes down from there. That is why you see second run theaters that are playing month old movies for half price. At that point the theater is making 90% and the distribtion co is getting 10% of ticket sales. The concession products are the only way they really make money.

Yeah... so friendly that the little sub-10 year-old sitting in the row in front of me was yelling the entire time, while his parents did nothing.

I hate that!!! I went to a 12:50am showing on Friday and there were parents that had babies there. What the hell is wrong with people.

Fkyx 05.05.2008 12:07 PM

Seriously. Everyone knows that if you're the parent of a child under 13 years of age, you're not allowed to do anything fun. :P

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.05.2008 05:43 PM

On TV they said that the Dark Night will be out July 17 in Australia. I think they are know starting to show new movies around the world at the same time to cut down on piracy

Tip your gallon-o-cola on him, and then apologize. Might want to bruing a gun if things get ugly. I do. Also you could cry much louder, in the parents ear, and then say that it must be ok if their child is doing it. I just like to talk loudly and curse alot, that usually drives the annoying baby's family away. My wife gets very embarrased, but I say hell with it, children should be neither seen nor heard.

how can I bring a gun in the theater when my hands are full trying to sneak in my gas B-B-Q grill.....

MetalMan 05.05.2008 10:21 PM

Just got back from seeing Iron Man, and it was pretty good! It wasn't corny like some other movies based on superheroes from comic books.

Hmm, maybe tape it to the bottom of the grill, no one would think to look there...

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.08.2008 06:42 AM

Just saw on TV that there are now having winge about The Dark Knight Joker Action Figure. They don't want everyone remembering him as the Joker. I would rather be remembered as the Joker then a gay coyboy

KaztheMinotaur 05.08.2008 08:34 AM

Yeah, how bout it.

You can say that again!

I think the Joker character is much more complex than most of his previous ones.

I just hope people don't start using the Heath Ledger incident as a reason to screw up the movie. I don't want to be cold hearted, but the guy was carrying his life in his own hands. When you use drugs like that, be it prescription or anything else, you take a huge risk. I know this all to well as it is the life I lived for many years before cleaning up.

By the way, I saw Ironman Monday and it was great. My wife is another one that loved, and I had to initially drag her in. It was my turn to pick the movie though! We just have one agreement, I won't pick scary movies and she won't pick super cheesy girl junk like "Maid of Honor" or anything.

It was nice to see a comic book movie that wasn't cheesed out for once. I also saw the preview for the new Incredible Hulk with Edward Norton and it looked good as well. Marvel needed this after the pile of junk they tried to pass of as a Hulk movie 5 years ago. I used to watch the live action TV show faithfully back in the day.
