Too bad they don't have a smooth can version. There's another thread about them.

BL_RV0 05.14.2008 10:33 AM

Yeah. That 3D motor might be a great competitor for a Mega 22/45/2. I have about $1500 worth of stuff lest to sell, and then I will buy and build the ultimate FLM Savage. May have to try both of those motors.

It should be a good comparison.

Will the Mega undoubtedly have more torque because it has 6 poles?

Yes, but it doesn't seem to be much more. The Neu motors are very well designed. My ACn22/30/2 has about 3-4 (Maybe more) times more torque then my Feigao 7XL.

now that they look like the plettis with a closed front and fixed endbell i start to like those NEU motors. i just wished they had chosen another color.

Didn't take them long, only informed about 1 month ago about them

lucias 05.15.2008 09:37 AM

They come with 4mm plugs.. the monster max comes with 6.5.. Gosh people make up your minds..

teknorc 05.15.2008 11:10 AM

Hahaha,

We went with 4mm plugs because the wires coming out of all of these fit into a 4mm plug. If you are running a 1515/1D, bigger plugs are recommended, but I don't think we aren't going to be offering that wind in the future. We opted not to put any connectors on the 1.5D. The wires are just a hair thicker than a 4mm plug, so we'll leave that to the customer to decide. The 1Y, 2.5D, and 3D all have the 4mm plugs however. We didn't feel a need to connect bigger wire to the smaller stator wires. The higher the turn count, the smaller the wires from the stator. A bigger plug just requires more solder so we (Tekno and Neu) didn't feel a bigger plug would be necessary for these.

How long would it take to start having some blue smooth cans available? I called and someone mentioned a few months.

That is correct. Since these are handmade and Neu is pretty busy already, getting something to market unfortunately takes a little longer. We're definitely planning on it though.

LOL Why didn't Castle feel the same.. Hopefully the motors are still in stock on my pay day..

gixxer 05.15.2008 02:01 PM

I dont like the 4mm plugs either. Would prefer for it to come with none so I could just add 5.5 or 6.5 mm ones. Guess I could always just take the ones on there off and start all over if I end up getting on of your motors.

FG101C 05.15.2008 11:37 PM

Tried to order one but get a "Certificate Error" on IE. Which may be nothing, but my paranoia is keeping me from ordering through them.

teknorc 05.15.2008 11:45 PM

Our SSL Certificate expired today. There's no problem is should be renewed today.

Yeah, gonna be a little logistic problem as I wanted to interchange my MMM and MGM between trucks to find a good fit.

That's physically impossible... just to let you know. A 7XL has more torque than a 1512/3D running at the same RPM.

My 7XL doesn't have the torque my ACn22/30/2. I don't have a 1512 to compare with my 7XL. You know the Tekno is a 1515 right. The Mega is a 6 pole so in theory it should have more torque then a 2 or 4 pole motor. A 1515 like the Tekno motors will have more torque then the 7XL. I would love to know how you came to this conclusion. If you had a 1515 or a ACn22/45 to go up against a 7XL you would see what I meant. But it's good to know the 7XL is more powerful hen a 1512/3D. I'm pretty sure the guys who are running the 1512 on their buggies and truggies might think you'd be wrong.

Edit: I did try a Neu 1512, actually a Aveox 1412/1.5Y (Might be a 1Y as it seemed to have been rewound) and it has more torqeu then the 7XL. Here is what my truck had before the Mega Acn22/30/2: Feigao 540C 9L, Feigao 7XL, Aveox 1412. Some guys are now running Neu 1509 in their buggies and 1512 in their truggies and it seems to be working good for them.

I didn't see any sign of Cert Error when I ordered last night. I made sure https was on the page when I needed to input payment data.

BL_RV0 05.16.2008 11:17 AM

Lutach, What is your favorite brand of motor? I'd guess Lehner, but is Mega close behind?

That is a tough question. I have to say first is Aveox since it was my first  . I like Hackers, Lehners, Neus, Plettenbergs, Megas, Castles, Hyperions, Himax, Feigaos, all my other Asian motors and my favorite I like them all . I still haven't tried all though and I spoke with the company that will or now might be doing my motors so there will be more choices for me . It sucks not being able to fly there to actually meet with them and all the factories I know. You put me in a tough spot there .

It's been taken care of. It was only an issue for a couple hours. Thanks.
