 I thought it has been out for a while. I think i may go and get it today as well.

Good luck. I was at a Wal-Mart at 7:30AM after dropping off my daughter at daycare and within 10-15 minutes, they sold 4 of them. I have a feeling most places will be sold out by mid-day.

bl-is-future 05.21.2008 10:02 AM

Yeah i dont get out of work until 4:30 either. Oh well. I will get it eventually.

Did you watch the review on Cnet? It looks like a fun drinking game.. Hopefully no one is out with the intentions of really becomming fit on it from what I can see.. some of the games do look fun like the head butting soccer game. I am sure we will see someone on TV claiming to be the next subway jared from the wii..

I'm still trying to get Mario Kart for the Wii.

A funny thing as I was reading the post I am watching ESPN and they were doing a story on it....IMO I hate Wii...I am a PS3 guy...my daughter has a Wii and I have tried playing it and got bored with it, I heard a rumour on the radio that they are coming out with an interactive stripper pole for the Wii.....at first I thought it was BS but they were pretty serious and now a days you never know

THing about the Wii fit is, how exactly do you get fit from leaning side to side, or standing on one leg? Wouldnt it be better for people/kids to actually go outside and play all the Wii sports games & perform proper excercise?....

skellyo 05.21.2008 08:05 PM

It's not quite just leaning side to side. Have you seen all the types of things it can coach you through?

True true, but you could just as easily join a real yoga/aerobics/etc group and learn an aweful lot more, plus meet people with a similar interest and get some fresh air too.

I think my opinion was jaded though after watching this:

In my opinion it is not meant to replace real gym workouts. It may get people started on the right track to try working out. Mine arrived yesterday and I used it for about 20 minutes (not including the time wasted in the setup if th Mii) and it is a interesting concept. Nintendo actually did a decent job on it. The BMI test called me obese (I'm not fat...I'm big boned) but who cares.

The balance games are interesting. Just a slight change in balance can affect your rating in each game. It can get tricky. Sure it's just a bunch mini-games but if you stop and think about it the game is having you stand/lean in specific positions for set lengths of time or doing repeated motions. This all works muscles holding the positions.

so i played the wii fit today and i gotta say... it was pretty fun.

we had it out in the living room and it had a bunch of different games. i bet if you got a bunch of freinds over it would be even funner.

and yes. if you were drunk itd be hilarious.

gixxer 05.26.2008 12:17 AM

I dont have one yet but I will be picking one up for my girl. I tried to the other day but walmart sold out before I got there.

My brother got one for his wife and kids and they like it. So we will try it out. It cant hurt and well maybe it will help me get a little extra cushioning off.

t-maxxracer32 05.26.2008 12:52 AM

ya ive heard mixed things about actually losing weight but i figure its betta than sitten watchin tv.

i did that yoga tree one and it was quite hard. imagine a 40 year old man doing it. would def be a good workout for him.

gixxer 05.26.2008 02:11 AM

well I am not 40 but I am closer to that then I am to a skinny teenager like yourself. :) I would say I was in shape until about 28(actually had to eat extra to keep on weight) then well nature kicked in and I gained another 20lbs.
