Hitec HS-645MG enough for single servo Revo?
 

I forgot I had this thing sitting around, I was wondering if it has relatively the same torque as the stock dual servos of Revo? This is so I can have a better battery mounting option.

It is a little less than the stock but it is faster than stock... I used to run one in my truck bet then I switched to a 200o/z .10 sec reaction airtronics and it was amazing.

the 645 is not bad though.

K, well I am going to use it temporarily then, until I get a good one, like the one you mentioned.

I used a 5645 for a while which was OK, i now have a 5955 which is seems light years better. I think a 645 may struggle esp on 5v... Be careful about turning when stationary if you can...

PS worthwhile looking out for 5955 going on sale as the 7955's come out...

Thanks Arct1k, I will be running on 6v. You should change the 'power' to torque, as power would be the combination between speed and torque the servo can deliver. Just thought I would point that out... :neutral::wink:

I will give that 5955 servo a check out, dual servos just get in the way huh! Not to mention the whole design of the Revo, very short on mounting options/space for components.

zero - Just a CTL+C & CTL+V from servocity.com - It is of course Stall Torque in oz-in... and operating speed sec/60° at no load

I run a 5990(very similar to 5955) now in my truggy and its awsome. its meant for robots and can handle 7.4V.

I would get a little more powerful one like the 985 for $69. I ran that on my Revo and it was more than enough power and speed!

hmmm is it bad to run the digital servos on more than 6 volts, ive been running some 50oz. servos on 7 volts and its a HUGE difference over 5.5 or 6 volts these are just standard analog servos in my LS10, I bought a 5646 digital from jnev and plan on running it my my truggy could i run it on 6.5 or 7 volts with no ill effects? i have yet to cook a servo in the LS10 but it could just be luck, does anyone run their digital servos on a little extra voltage?

A servo is like a mini-system in one package since it contains an ESC, gearing, and motor. If you up the voltage, the current will increase too (since changing the gearing is not something most people do). As long as the "system" inside the servo case can handle everything (heat, current, voltage), it'll last.

And end points adjusted properly! :whistle:

I just picked up one of these little gems and wished I had bought one sooner. Finely the power I had been looking for!

That is a extremely awesome servo. I ran one for a while in my Revo. It is overkill for sure but hey, overkill is good!

AARGG, I don't have the right servo arm to work! I thought it was the same as traxxas, but nope, slightly smaller diameter.

It's going to be next to impossible to mount the 7s2p a123 pack now, as I wanted more runtime for a meet a bunch of R/C guys are having tomorrow. My 7s1p pack lasts 15 mins, and takes 30mins to charge. 15 mins won't be enough when bashing with other nitro Revo's.... you know, I will HAVE to show them up, and that means handfuls of throttle.

Great bud. You put the wrong servo horn on and it will just strip out on you.

Should work fine, i use a 5645 for steering on my Nitro revo

that is a good price for one I got mine for $110 I either bought mine from Mike or Impakt...I dont remember which one

Well, just got back from the meet... alot of fun, I have to admit! :mdr: I brought along two packs (7s2p & 7s1pA123's) the 2p pack lasted about 25 mins on pavement, just takes alot of juice. Then I was waiting for it to charge for 40 mins while they ran some more, and broke some parts...

One guy had a t-maxx 3.3, one had a Revo 2.5... no problem completely obliterating them! hahaha, but the third guy, he had a Revo 3.3, with some good upgrades: a big block engine that was quite powerful, extended length rear arms, and some anti-roll bar kit. He wasn't too far behind me as far as acceleration goes, but the extended rear arms helped him alot. I had some wheelie, and flipping problems when drag racing them. When drag racing the t-maxx 3.3, I was halfway down the parking lot before he got out of bog-nation.

We also had some jumps out too, I jumped maybe 6 feet, which is more than enough for me personally... he was taking it at 20 feet!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I blew the tranny on the third run. The large plastic gear right off the input gear in the Revo trans, no teeth left. :whistle:

The motor ran very nice and cool (geared 42mph), 130F after two hard runs. Keep in mind this is the 1512 motor spooling to 38K, impressive if you ask me.

I think I want to get a 1515 Neu though for sure, after about 30mph, I can't wheelie anymore; a 1515 should help that. :yes:
