used setup...

would $260.00 be a fair price for a relatively new bk9920 and xl3100?

Serum 09.21.2005 03:39 PM

selling it or buying it?

spymaxx 09.21.2005 04:00 PM

Buying of course!

Also, what questions do I need to ask? I don't know very much about brushless.

nbcaznmaster 09.21.2005 04:17 PM

crap! u got my hopes up...

Serum 09.21.2005 04:24 PM

Ncabz is also in the race for a 2nd hand setup you must know..

What is the plan with that setup how many cells, what truck/car?

spymaxx 09.21.2005 05:56 PM

What is the plan with that setup...

I was planning on installing it in a emaxx. 6-7 cells for batteries. Stock except mips, al diffs, rpm stuff. As far as weight goes it is around 12lbs.

nbcaznmaster 09.21.2005 06:07 PM

do you have a link to the auction or to the e-maxx auction?

spymaxx 09.21.2005 09:06 PM

Lik to auction...

To my knowledge this guy has not put it for auction.

squeeforever 09.21.2005 09:32 PM

well i have the same setup and am quite impressed with it. buy 6-7 cells do you mean 12-14? the little lehner will run kinda hot on 14 cells.

spymaxx 09.21.2005 10:55 PM

Yea, my brain is half dead from the lack of sleep.

6-7 cell packs. Right now all I have are 6 cell packs. A total of 12 cells.

How fast would it be? Of course greared so that it does not over heat.

nitrostarter 09.21.2005 11:24 PM

I paid $325 for my setup, Bk18120, 9L, 16T pinion, and motorclamp. All were brand new, owner bought it but never setup it up.

nbcaznmaster 09.22.2005 06:13 AM

how about a link to the seller's thread or whats her username on traxxas?

steve050773 09.22.2005 09:08 AM

Squee - how you rate the combo compared to something more generic like the hv-maxx?

nbcaznmaster 09.22.2005 02:56 PM

one word, SUPERIOR!!! ps, DARN! u wont show me where to buy! I understand, i wouldnt tell u, if i was u!

steve050773 09.22.2005 02:59 PM

Don't get too excited, she won't come anywhere near the $200 dollar price point... I'll decide today if I want to make her an offer or not. If I don't I'll shoot you her email...

nbcaznmaster 09.22.2005 04:27 PM

how much she asking? if its 300 bux! shes crazy!

So, I guess I am not the only one looking to get this...

spymaxx 09.22.2005 06:09 PM

Steve

I don not want to get in a bidding war with you on this. Did you offer her less than what she is asking?

squeeforever 09.22.2005 07:08 PM

i wouldnt even consider the hv a brushless setup. theres no comparison. geared properly i had my maxx pushing 50 mph on 12 only sanyo 2400s.

spymaxx 09.22.2005 08:54 PM

Squee:

What kind of gearing did you run on your setup?

squeeforever 09.22.2005 09:22 PM

i think i was running 12 or 13/66 and ran 14 for a couple of runs but was WAY to much power....

spymaxx 09.23.2005 10:42 AM

Squee:

What kind of run times did you get?

steve050773 09.23.2005 10:45 AM

spymaxx

She's stuck at $250 shipped. I'm not buying as I need more cell capability in the motor.

squeeforever 09.23.2005 11:10 AM

thats a pretty good deal i got almost 400 in mine. i was getting about 12 minutes runtime with those old 2400 cells.

Serum 09.23.2005 11:20 AM

for 280, you have got a new setup from Mike, that ables you to use 16 cells.. (10L + 9920)

spymaxx 09.23.2005 03:47 PM

Serum:

How does the Feigao motors compare with the Lehner motors?

nbcaznmaster 09.23.2005 03:54 PM

Not worth it, lehner is over priced compared to teh fiegao. Feigao is much cheaper and just as good. Again, at 280, you can buy new. She is WAY over charging.

nitrostarter 09.23.2005 06:05 PM

THe setup is about $350 brand new. $250 shipped for it with about 4 hrs of runtime, I think is a fair deal.

squeeforever 09.23.2005 06:18 PM

like i said, its a good deal. i would say the lehner motors are a little overpriced, not much. when you think about it after you by a feigao and a clamp from mike to keep the can from popping you've spent anywere from 105 to 120....

Dafni 09.23.2005 06:32 PM

I would suggest a new Feigao combo ;)

nbcaznmaster 09.23.2005 06:34 PM

same here, i dont trust ANY1. u cant tell the difff between 4 hours of runtime or 3 months of abuse. Especially a brushless, i know once u got one! u'll never stop playing with it untill u want more speed and power!! :D Its addictive! I just can imagine playing with brushless for 4 hours and gettting bored so fast!!

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 06:45 PM

$200 for esc new 80 for new feigao 150 for new lehner getting burned on the internet priceless.
It is hard to say for sure how long it was run. If you knew for sure that it was only 4 hours good deal.
I think the lehners have a little better quality than the feigaos. Not saying there a bad motor. Not by any means. If you get a new system you can get what you want. Just remember one thing. There is a reason it is up for sale.

nbcaznmaster 09.23.2005 07:32 PM

Assume the worst when buying used.

nitrostarter 09.23.2005 07:38 PM

nbcaznmaster- You need to quit deterring people away from it just because you want to buy it. He found the sale, if he wants to buy it leave him be.

nbcaznmaster 09.23.2005 08:02 PM

Okay fine! i wont!!! :M: Hopefully the other members agree teh sale is a bad idea!

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 08:20 PM

I never said bad nor good. It just a risk. Not a bad deal if it is what they say.

Serum 09.25.2005 01:15 PM

like i said, a new 9920 with a 9L get's my vote over the used setup as discussed here.

What can i say.. New is NEW! and 2nd hand is..... the question..
@ncabz;

I saw you PM'd me, my inbox was full, please try again.

aqwut 09.25.2005 03:37 PM

that's true...

Myself, i would get the new system... There are too many what if's when buying used..

but then again... the price is tempting.. the Xl's are pretty good motors..

i guess I'm not helping.. am i... :)

Serum 09.25.2005 03:41 PM

The XL's are good motors, that's for sure. but so is the L serie. the L serie has got a bit more torque.

aqwut 09.25.2005 05:46 PM

I can't say anything about the Faeigos yet... not untill I try mine.... If everyone's sayin' their good.. Then they must be... I gotta find out.. and the XL for $80, that's a D*MN good Deal....
