how is this?
Ok so after lots of thinking and my dad calling me crazy in wanting to spend 400 dollars on a controller. How good is this controller?
http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...3sHCS01&cat=21 I want to run it with my feaigo 7xl, Is it possible to run 18 cells on it or is that a no no? How fast could i get with 16 cells and proper gearing? Someone just tell me how this one is please. |
That should be fine for the 7XL, but I wouldn't do 18 cells...
Hey, you live in Chatham, Ontario Toby?.... I'm in Windsor.. |
go with bk!
I gotta get me a BK controller.. I had over 6 different schulze controllers.... I really like the schulze controllers..
I only hated the 18.61K.. They're so weak.. they can't even handle the Basic 4200... The Bk 9918 or 9920 would be cool.. I'm selling my 18.61K this week for $200... gonna try a 9920.... yeah.. the Bk one is nice too.. but that MGM can handle 160 amps continuous.. so you wouldn't have to worry about frying an ESC.... I wouldn't run that MGM on 18 cells.. you'd probably fry it... I bought a cheap $60 ESC for Heli.. I'm gonna see if it will fry with the 7xl.... Hey toby, do you already have the 7xl, or you waitin' to order it...? |
on 16 cells.. taht 7xl is doin't 45000+ rpms....
with 64 spur.. and 22 pinion.. it should do well over 45mph.... |
that's an unloaded kv, put more faith in the BK XL kv ratings.
get the 9920, you are able to use 18 cells with it. |
Ja, get a 9920. You can run 18 cells, and it handles the 7XL just fine. And you can even save a few bucks (and spend it on Mikes heatsink;) )
i do live in chatham ontario!!!!
I have seen pictures (2-4) of burnt up 9920 and i will not be able to afford it. So i was thinkin this one has a higher amp rating. If you guys say that it will be fine and i will not burn it up from jumping and landing with a little throttle then i will take it, another advantage it has over the 9920 is that it is in stock! |
no 18 cells. The 9920's you have seen burned, where have you seen them? And are you sure they were not replaced under guarantee?
i saw one on your site ( i never sayed rather or not they were replaced under guarantee, but wouldn;'t that take like over a month) And random photos
that one on my site is the only one i found.. if you've got more i would like to ge them..
maybe i have not seen, i know i have heard or seen though, i cannot not rember what i had for supper last night. so i can never rember anything
it's probably pretty hard to fry an ESC that takes 99amps continuously....
Maybe get the warrior.. cuz it's capable of 20 cells... |
alright, it seems to be chated up quite a bit, I just hope they are in stock soon, I do live in chatham though, what kind of vehicles do you have?
If i get the 9920 (which i will now) i have two questions, One would be what gearing, two would be 16 or 18 cells, how much would 16 cells cost to get made as well?
What kind of cells are you going to get? They run about $6 for the gp3300 $7 for the gp 3700 and $8 for the ibc 3800. Not positive on prices. That is for a cell price.
i was thinking just plain old gp 3300, cheap but great performance, can you get matched or zapped ones?
You can get matched and zapped in all of the above.
I not sure on the gearing area. If I had a few ratios like tranny and rears I could figure it out. |
meh, i am not sure what you mean by that, how much extra does it cost to get matched in them?
I am not sure on the price of matching and zapping. If you didn't understand what I was saying about zapping and matching or the ratios.
the ratios, do you have normal ones or zapped in your truck? with my 7xl, 9920, and 18 normal gp 3300 and proper gearing what would i hit?
i would recommend the ibc 3800s.....there cheaper at the right places. i think i have found them for 5.50 a cell which was the same as the gp 3300s.
I have some gp 3300 and 3700 not matched. I not sure on zapping but I don't think so. MIne does good. From what I have read zapping gives you more volt for a few cycles. Then it goes back to normal voltage. It also shorts the life of battery alittle bit.
As far as ratios. How many times does the input shaft turn to the out put shaft. LIke the pinion and spur. Example 66 tooth spur and a 22 tooth pinion would give you a 3 to 1 ratio. If you know the tooth count on the gears and such I could figure it out. I just don't have a clue what a savage runs. That Is cheap squee. Pm me a site if you could. |
so with gp3300 18 cells could i get about 45-50 MPH
I think you should. I have got over 50 with 18cells. It was on a emaxx though.
ok thanx, that should be very good. If i can get 40 i will be happy.
I think you will be happy. Good luck toby. Happy rcing.
same too you, I am so excited for this project, i just wish it would come together quicker
I would do 18 cells.... Just try the gearing...
use c cell pacsk!@ they go up to 5000mah!! come on!! i wanan see how they perform
you can't just use regular c cells, you'd have to find HD C cells...
hd?
They are bigger and heavier.
nbcaznmaster-hd means high discharge
Yeah, I've only see Chris Fine of finedesign, carrying those.. only $3.50 a piece.. what a steal, but it's Nicad.. 80 amps for 1 minute.. that is WICKED...
It doesn't beat a GP3300 though..
A GP3300 cell can't put out 80 amps over more than brief periods. I can vertify this from running a very high amp drain motor (Feiago 540 6s with a Mtroniks sticker), if I parallel the packs its actually a bit faster in spite of the weight (matched GP3300 8 cell packs).
I don't know about that's hard to believe....
I thought GP3300's are only rated at 10-12C continuously.... if it can do 80 amps.. Why am I buy LiPo's for... :) Mabye I should go back to GP3300's.. :) Some sites rate the GP3300s as 100 amps.. like BK's site.. I think it's bullSh*t... Does anyone know the real continuous discharge rates of the GP batteries.. . if it's 80 amps.. I"m gettin' some right away.... |
HOLY SH*T.. I was wrong...
GP 2600 can do 100amps for 15 seconds...
GP 3300 can do 45 amps continuous... wow.. gotta get me some 2600's.... anyone knows the specs for the GP3700's or the IB3800's?.. |
