NY/NY/CT/PA Driver! The July bash at the Barn...

Lets see if we can run a full field of CRT .5's and Truggies/MT...

I'm hoping to get my buggy a touch more dialled too.

I presume the 6th is out for PPL but how about other W/E dates?

CJ

PS whoever is buying all the front LX shocks on ebay please stop! :slap:

lutach 06.18.2008 03:44 PM

I might be in for July.

Whatever weekend is cooler  that last one was a scorcher

I need to buy up all the shocks to keep my competitive advantage. I'll sell you some in Aug.

E-Revonut 06.18.2008 04:45 PM

The 6th and 27th are out for me but any other Sunday in July and I'll be there for the mt class. Got my E-REVO last Friday, ran it through the weekend stock. Sunday night I was up till 3AM putting in my spektrum radio, MMM, and 8xl. Might be too fast for racing but I'll give it a shot, I have heard 30MPH is adequate at the barn. Currently running 68/20 gearing and its easily in the 40MPH neighborhood.

Arct1k 06.18.2008 09:13 PM

13th, 20th and 27th work for me...

VintageMA 06.18.2008 09:29 PM

I'm very excited - I'll be moving from Boston to Southern CT somteime in the 4-6 months for work and will actually get the chance to go to some of these events and meet you guys.

Arct1k 06.18.2008 09:59 PM

Boston's not too far anyway to make the trip for the annual bash - a couple of guys come from europe and jeff drove from chicago

Arct1k 06.26.2008 05:52 PM

I don't have plans ATM. Hopefully its time enough to get the hyper together. It should be ok.

Arct1k 06.26.2008 08:36 PM

Lets lock in for 20th & 27th :)

cemetery gates 06.26.2008 09:06 PM

20th looks good for me!

Bye:mdr:

Arct1k 07.08.2008 02:05 PM

Bump for 20th & 27th :)

trev3813 07.08.2008 04:43 PM

so what is this?, do you have to be some one to get in?, do you have to have a brushless buggy? and where is it located

Arct1k 07.08.2008 04:54 PM

No entry requirements - just bring what you have and fit in...

Last time there was enough to have brushless truggy/MT and CRT .5 - I also put my buggy in with the Nitros.

Depending on who turns up with what classes are formed - 20th is the main event for July... If you can only make one event make that one...

I'll be bringing brushless MT, Truggy, Buggy and Crt .5...

I know it is a trip for you but come on down!

This is where the annual RCMonster bash is held to...

brushlessboy16 07.08.2008 05:18 PM

IN NEW JERSEY!?

YESSSS

ugh i have to convince my parents to let me go...

Arct1k 07.08.2008 06:04 PM

Chester NY - about 25 miles out of NJ

Mike comes out and it is great to get tips from the monster

Finnster 07.08.2008 07:41 PM

I can do the 20th. I'll prolly head over for a while on the 13th as we are visiting people in town. Unfort my truggy is using up my MM until the MMM comes out again, and the spare controller I have may take too much work to fit in. Ill work on it, but I can't promise the CRT.5. Maybe of there were a few of them coming I'd spare the effort, but IDK right now.

Arct1k has one, IDK about cem gates, and if Mike can come he said he'd bring one of his. Anymore would be cool.

Arct1k 07.08.2008 08:04 PM

I can bring along a spare modded MM...

cemetery gates 07.08.2008 11:40 PM

My full size jammin crt is up and running, but my crt.5 needs work. I *might* have it ready by the 20th. My full size crt will definitely be there though.

Bye:mdr:

Arct1k 07.09.2008 02:36 PM

I can bring along a spare crt .5 - LOL!

Finnster 07.13.2008 10:53 PM

Went to the Barn today to try out the new Hyper ST. Gotta say I love this truck.:mdr: Ran into RCM Mike there with a few of his vehicles in tow. Hopefully he will be able to come next week. Today was a huge Summer Series event w/ 100 entries. Mike and I got to run by ourselves in the early morning while the nitro guys watched as their machines make too much noise and aren't allowed to run until 9am. lol.

Gotta see Mike run a new Erevo w/ a 60mm 2000 kv Medusa. Looked like a lot of power and the temps stayed low. Enough power that it blew up his driveshaft before it really got put through the paces. :)

They changes the track again for a more technical track. Lots of fun, I liked it alot, but had probs w/ the triple in the back. My error really tho. Didn't get a chance to race it tho as the 8XL was just gonna run too hot and the mains they were planning were really long (30 min for A main, 20 for B,) as if I was going to make those tho. Got to take a few pics tho before it got tore up.

If you can make it at all next week I really urge you to. Its going to be a lot of fun, great layout and Mike will try and bring his .5 as well. They should be a lot of fun on this track and a little field of them will be lots of fun. Enjoy the pics and lets be ready to go next week.

Arct1k 07.13.2008 11:17 PM

Wow! ST should do well with all those turns.... Not sure if my CRT.5 will be in top shape as my motor broke... I'm all up for next w/e!

I have an ammo as as a spare...

Arct1k 07.15.2008 09:11 AM

Bump - Roll call who is up for it:

Confirmed
- Finnster
- Arct1k
- CemetryGates
- Monster Mike

Unconfirmed
- Lutach
- Brushlessboy16
- Trev3813
- E-revonut

ANYONE ELSE?

E-Revonut 07.15.2008 09:49 AM

I'm trying to make it! My mmm and 8xl are dead, might throw the titans back in my e-revo but I'm also waiting on a package from mike. Ordered a motor for my CRT.5 build. If that gets here I'll def make the trip, but I don't think its worth the drive to bring a stock e-revo, but i might. Just can't make a gaurantee at the moment

You know, I think you would be suprized how well it may do. The layout is more of a technical track and not a high spd course. You'll lose a bit on the straight, but the titans are not that far off the top spd you'll get there anyway. 35mph is all I'm going to be geared for. You may be better off anyway w/o the 8XL. I was running mine there over the weekend and I was getting pretty hot after ~10min, 177F. It was fine in the early morning when it was cool and I was driving slower as I was learning the track, but once it got warmer out and I was able to push it more things were getting hot.

Also, I was talking to MacII. He has an Erevo he's been racing on titans waiting for the MMM to back come out, and he's says he's been winning. On a smaller tech track, but as said, this one seems more than style. I'm hoping he can come as well (and then you guys will be equally matched :) )

Besides, I can guarantee you I am not a Pro driver. Just watch my videos linked in my sig from the RCM bash in Oct. 1st time on a track and I was anding on my lid more than my wheels lol. A lot of other guys were trashing it up too. But, just going out and getting some experience and figuring out what's going on helps far far more than having the uber setup.

Trust me, don't feel like you have to have some sweet setup to come or you look like a hack. Everyone is cool and just wanting to have a good time. No one cares what you bring. In fact, if you don't get your stuff on time for the .5. I have a novak SS5800 BL system that's not being used and would be more than fine in the .5. You are welcome to borrow it. Really my 12s motor on 3S is not that far off powerwise. Its got no lvc, but if the batts are decently big, it won't be a problem.. the main won't be more than 10min. I'm using a 3S 2100 pack and its fine.

Arct1k 07.15.2008 11:22 AM

Mike will be there to and could probably bring bits - Just post up what you need... There are probably enough of us and spares to convert a car in the moring!

Finnster 07.15.2008 01:31 PM

BTW Arct1k I got the 2.5D all running. Got to run it some more over lunch today and I'm quite happy w/ it on 4S. With 14/46 gearing I was doing 36-38 mph. Plenty fast and was staying relatively cool as well. I have a 13t pinion that would be fine as well, but the fins are already up against the rear brace, so I really can't go any smaller on the pinion. I need to grind down the fins a bit as it is. The more I drive the ST, the more I like it. Great find!

brushlessboy16 07.15.2008 01:39 PM

anyone have a crt.5 that they dont want?

E-Revonut 07.15.2008 10:04 PM

sorry guys but after searching for directions I'm not going to be able to make it. I was thinking it would be about 2.5-3 hrs to get there but I'm getting almost 300 miles and a 5 he trip. I can't swing an extra $80 in gas this week after buying everything for my CRT.5 build

Arct1k 07.16.2008 09:50 AM

Reserve the data at least for the annual bash and start saving gas money!

cemetery gates 07.19.2008 04:35 PM

Alright guys, the crt.5 is up and running! Well somewhat; all I had to put in it was a mm5700 with a 12t pinion(on 2s). I think it'll get a little hot, but it should be ok for a 10min race. If anyone has a smaller pinion that they can bring that I could possibly borrow for the race I would appreciate it!

I'm bringing the following vehicles:

Full size Jammin Crt

Jammin Crt.5ext (with matching paint job too:yes:)

Bye:mdr:

E-Revonut 07.19.2008 08:02 PM

what's the date for the annual bash? If I hadn't done my CRT.5 build in less than 2 weeks I would have had the money to come tomorrow. But I also would have only had a stock E-REVO to bring. Very glad I did the build thoughcsuse it's awesome. I will be posting pics when I get my computer back

cemetery gates 07.19.2008 09:14 PM

I'm really pissed now. It doesn't look like I can go. My car had a dead battery earlier today, so I charged it, drove around for a couple hours(had to go to some stores), it seemed fine. I go to start my car tonight, it's dead again. I just charged it again then left it idling for an hour. It measures 14.8-15.0 volts. Is that normal? It's just I'd rather not get stuck over an hour from home with a dead battery. Then again, I could roll it down a hill and pop the clutch to start it...

:grrrrrr::grrrrrr::grrrrrr::grrrrrr::grrrrrr:

JERRY2KONE 07.19.2008 09:23 PM

Fix It.

Just pop into the local "AutoZone" and ask them to put it on the tester(its free). They will put you in the right direction quick and you will be on your way. It sounds as if you have a bad battery since your system is putting out the voltage. Get the car running and disconnect the battery. If the car dies, then you have a bad alternator. If the car keeps running, then your battery is bad. Good luck with that.

Arct1k 07.19.2008 10:53 PM
