New house!

Because it's a major life event for me and you guys are pretty much the only friends I have outside of family, I wanted to let you all know that I'm buying my first house!

My wife and I have been looking for months and we've finally found it. It's not much of a house for some of you folk$, but it's fantastic for us. The best part is that it has wood floors for my son's new wheelchair (another exciting life event, as he's been needing it for a long time now). It also has a finished basement with a large room for my home office - r/c room.

I can't tell you how excited I am for it. Just thought I'd share.

Anyway, look for me to be selling lots of R/C stuff soon to help with the down payment. I won't be selling everything of course, but I really need to lighten my collection anyway. With the new house payment, I won't be able to afford to fix broken cars anyway! :na:

Yeeeeee-ah!

Did I mention that it's right up against a mountain with tons of bashing spots?! Party!!!!

Looks really nice, congrats to you and the family.

Arct1k 06.23.2008 02:35 PM

Congrats

lutach 06.23.2008 02:54 PM

Congrats. Now get busy and make a track on the side of that mountain there and invite us over for a house warming party .

bl-is-future 06.23.2008 03:02 PM

nice house!

rschoi_75 06.23.2008 03:03 PM

Looks great! when's the housewarming BBQ?

mkrusedc 06.23.2008 03:11 PM

Dude that is an excellent house!! Congrats. That mountain looks great! After R/C I boulder or in New Orleans (since there are no boulders) I urban climb. I think you have a great home.

ClodMaxx 06.23.2008 03:21 PM

wow, that's a great first house!! i'd say it's probably better on average than most people's first homes!

i just bought a house 2 weeks ago (my first one too - mine's not nearly as nice as i bought it alone lol) and know about sacrificing r/c's. i thinned the herd down to just my xray xt8...

anyhow, congrats! :yipi:

JThiessen 06.23.2008 03:32 PM

Yeah, that's very nice for a "first home". Heck its nicer than my 3rd house!

blueb8llz 06.23.2008 03:32 PM

congrats on your new house man. love the front of the house...great deck and view!
and i see them mountains in the back......oh..the fun you will be having..videos coming soon i hope hehe

kulangflow 06.23.2008 03:43 PM

I'm buying mine alone too because my wife's only job is to take care of our two kids and spend the money I make. :-) I must admit that one of our kids needs a bit more attention than the other, so she has her work cut out for her. Fortunately I work from home, so I get to help out a lot with the kids as well.

Congrats, Clodmaxx, on buying your first home too!

We are scheduled to close the house on my 30th birthday, which is extra cool for me because it was always my goal. The house is pretty nice for a first home, but it's probably not as expensive as it looks because it's in Utah (cheap houses).

That would be way cool to have a housewarming party. It's too bad all you guys live far away!

Here's a pic of the new wheelchair with Wyatt(2 years old) and my wife, Bree. (Oh yeah, Wyatt got his wheelchair on his 2nd birthday, and that's why he's wearing that funny hat.)

mkrusedc 06.23.2008 04:06 PM

You are blest. Great looking family.

kulangflow 06.23.2008 04:25 PM

Thanks, mkrusedc.

I guess I shouldn't leave out my daughter, Mia. She'll be 4 in August.

I do feel very blessed. We don't have everything we want, but we have everything we need and more. :yipi:

That's pretty funny. I didn't actually title the pics though. They're straight off the MLS listing.

Thanks for all the congrats and compliments! You guys are making feel all funny inside.

magman 06.23.2008 07:27 PM

Looks like you should take up parasailing with that mountian behind you ! Looks like you're all set ! well perhaps a Ferarri for icing on the cake  maybe wait till midlife crisis for that ! congrats and good luck

rootar 06.23.2008 07:50 PM

just picking at all you old farts....didnt mean anything by it

TDC57 06.23.2008 07:57 PM

Congratulation on your new home!, :yipi: that’s one hell of a first house, 2nd or third for that mater. You’ve got a beautiful family and I wish all the health and happiness for many years to come for all of you..

Kulangflow
You did good, you should be very proud of yourself…

P.S.
My wife hasn’t had a job in 12 years so I know how hard it is on us to be the sole provider. Great job..:great:

gixxer 06.23.2008 08:27 PM

Very nice house. I thought I did well with my first house, but it didn't look anything like yours. Hell thats nicer then my 2nd house too.

Congrats to you and your family.

suicideneil 06.23.2008 08:27 PM

Wow, nice house man, and nice wife too (tell her I said hi) Those mountains will definately make for a great bashing spot- good exercise too after dinner

MTBikerTim 06.23.2008 09:23 PM

Awesome house. If I had a shack at the bottom of a hill like that I would be happy. I'd be riding my mountain bike all over it. I used to live on a farm with 10s of thousands of acres covered in hills and trails which were great for riding. I miss being able to go for a ride outside my back door.

Gotta keep an eye on Neil, he is the professional bachelor, if you catch my drift!!!!!

Great looking family you have there, your kids look like they take after your wife (lucky them)! I am planning to start my family within the year...getting kinda anxious already!

Don't forget his nice rc collection :intello:

Congrats on your new house. I still remember what it was like when we bought our first home too :party:.

DRIFT_BUGGY 06.24.2008 06:40 AM

OMG, that is one very large, nice house. Looks to be in one top location aswell, might have to get a brushless boat

rabosi 06.24.2008 08:13 AM

Beautiful family, nice house and what a view!! Congrats dude! With all the "new" work added to your list I Predict a little less r/cing in your future.:oh:

Sower 06.24.2008 11:52 AM

kulangflow - congrats to you on the house, the family, and the stay at home mom! It's tough, but as you know - worth it. My wife stays home with our kids too.

By the way, I noticed you're just south of Salt Lake. You should make a trip up to Boise sometime for one of our race days. Pretty good track, and always nice to have another brushless intruder to hang with

Serum 06.24.2008 12:07 PM

Nice place! nice located as well, judging from the pics! I love the space you guys have in the US compared to Holland.

What's up with your signature? Intimidating to say at least..

i believe it's from The Princess Bride. great movie, but yeah - it would seem like a weird statement if you didn't know the movie.

azjc 06.24.2008 12:15 PM

your wifes name is Bree...my daughters name is Aubree sometimes we call her Bree also

kulangflow 06.24.2008 02:49 PM

Yep, my signature is just a line from The Princess Bride. I guess it's only funny to those who are familiar with the movie. It's time for a new one anyway. I'll have to think of one.

My wife's full first name is Brianne, which is interesting because mine is Brian. Our birthdays are only 1 day apart too. I guess it was just meant to be. :-)

I guess we're a movie family because my son, Wyatt, is named after Wyatt Earp in "Tombstone" and my daughter, Mia, is named after Princess Mia in "Princess Diaries".

JERRY2KONE 06.24.2008 05:03 PM

Nice!

Hey nice pile of bricks man. Yea the first house is an exciting event for sure. I still remember buying my first home in Hawaii and I was scared to death commiting to such a large amount of money. It all worked out great and now we have our tenth house in California and don't even live in the USA. You did great for your first one. Hopefully you will only go up from there. It is nice to have so many good things in your life. When you have a good safe home, and your family is happy nothing else does matter. Although playing with R/C s is a nice way to pass your free time. Especially if the kids enjoy it as well. Congrats and good luck with the rest of your life.
