23mm Pro-Line adapter opinions?
People who actually run these, comments?
Trying to decide which adapter to get, either Pro-lines or Dace adapters. Read through a bunch of threads, and I kinda get mixed opinions. Keep in mind the Dace's will probably cost me $25+ over the prolines... -Cory |
I have both and i really prefer the Daces. Much better quality, you get what you pay for.
|
Buy mine from me at rock bottom prices! I have 23mm proline adpaters and the spanner! Just make me an offer!
|
Another vote for the Dace adapters. I have them on all my trucks.
|
Spend the extra ducks and GO DACE !!! That's what I did. And yeah, they are closer to $50 new.
ProLine=Great Bodies/Great Tires. |
I vote proline :) They worked great for me - just opted back to 17mm to standardize...
|
There's one on ebay for $40 right now.
|
Thanks guys.
I sent an email to Dace. I ended up in my trades with an unopened package of Mugen MSR adapters ($56ish) and asked if he'll swap me for some Revo adapters ($46) -Cory |

+1 Dace...I have it on my EMAXX..might put it on my E-revo if I wont go with a 17mm
|
I'm trying to decide which to go with also. But I'm also not sure if I should go 17MM or 23MM.
Has anyone seen the new ones from Traxxas? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUTG9&P=7 No available until late August, but they look cool. Another cheap alternative - the Maximizer adaptors http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXNWS2&P=ML When considering which to get, 17's are common to most 1/8 buggy wheels, whereas 23mm is common to most 1/8 truggy, correct? |
Some guys at RCM already use them, like jayjay. Check his thread

my two cents:
I have Pro-Line 23mm on my GEVO and love them, I've never had an issue one. It's my understanindg that All of the buggy's & Truggies use 17mm stock, I know you can upgrade them to 23mm if you want. Here are some speical 23mm racing one's for just under $100.00 http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...0e44341af7ef3f |
what advantage does the 23 mm have over 17mm...I have heard of people complaining it leaves a lot of slop in the axle/wheel area
|
theres a guy that tried most adapters and says the hpi had the best ones. no slop at all.
|
Since I got rpm bearing carriers I can't use my proline 23mm adaptors on my e maxx. Snape the drive pins as soon as I tighten them. I have tried shimming them but it does not help.I just snug them and pop, The pin snaps.WTF
|
I know this is an old thread but didn't want to start a new one just ot give a plug to somebody I don't know. This thread was the best fit for the subject.
I've tried the knock off and the alum give away where the pins are and just get chewed up an gets sloppy. The pro lines are a better quality and hold up much better in the pin area but eventually give in. I've found they still get sloppy are around the wheel hex though or the axle nuts loosen up eventually. So to the point... I was surfing and came across these way back when and figured what the heck no one else was bidding on them so got them for the .99 plus shipping. Turned out best 23mm investment I've made. Swapped out the almost new pro lines I had just to run these instead. What brought this to mind was I was surfing again and there was another set just waiting for me at 99cents. So got some more for the other savage. Shiipping was slow last time but the product turned out worht it. They look skinny and I was hesitant but they work great. They hold those big ass moabs and mashers 40's onto the Savage XL and I've put plenty of power through it as nitro and brushless. If you looking for a 23mm adapter give these chance. They work. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...mmadapters.jpg http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=270543169417 |
I have a set of those. Bondonutz runs them and he recommended them to me. Same thing, got them on ebay for dirt cheap. Haven't put them on yet, but will be soon once I'm ready to dig the E-Revo back out this spring/summer.
|
Those are made by ACNCM. Cheap and works well.
|
i have both, either will get the job done, neither have failed
the dase adapters are nicer, just a question of how much you want to spend |
Hmmm... do you guys have any photos of the HPI hobs mounted on a Maxx or Revo?
