TexasSP 07.02.2008 11:44 AM

Wow, 16, what a great age. I remember walking out after getting my license, I felt so free. Gas was cheap and I just wanted to drive wherever I could. Not that I would ever want to go back but I have lots of find memories though!

Happy B-Day and enjoy! http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...P/Banane57.gif

Thanks guys!

MetalMan - I am actually coming to the bash straight from vacation. And my parents won't even let me drive in Orange County... they say only in neighborhoods I know. I have been to OC plenty of times... oh well. Doesn't both me too much though.

TruckBasher - Since my parents aren't big fans of rc cars, ESPECIALLY my dad who actually really hates them for some reason  I usually just get money, but that money will go to gas now, as I will have to pay for all the gas.

Too bad, the other week I had to turn down a job at the LHS. I applied, and was picked by the owner out of 4 other guys, and then he told me I have to work weekends... and I am busy just about every weekend. So I'll try to get a job at the other hobby shop now...

lincpimp 07.02.2008 01:19 PM

Happy d-day Josh, hope that diving treats you well...

Sorry to hear that pops hates r/c cars. Some people have no idea about a good time!!!

TruckBasher 07.02.2008 07:37 PM

Hope you find a new job, to pay for the gas :)....

I know the feeling my parents also dont like RC but after I graduate and got a work, the didnt mind as long as a pay my dues :)

MetalMan 07.02.2008 11:53 PM

Awh, weekends aren't so bad. I used to be a super busy weekend guy as well, between soccer and other stuff. But I've been working 8+ hours every Saturday for the past 2 years now, and I don't mind so much.

jnev 07.03.2008 12:14 AM

Looks like you were a soccer player too... that is what takes up every weekend for me too. From refereeing soccer games (which actually pays amazing, but is the most boring job ever) to actually playing every weekend in tournaments around the state and sometimes around the country.

I actually went to a different hobby shop today (Hobby People) and asked if they are hiring and they said they will in fall. So hopefully I'll be able to get a job at the store then.

MetalMan 07.03.2008 04:14 PM

Yep, but I only played recreational (AYSO), but we were good. And I played from age 6 to age 17 (senior year was the last year). I took up tennis in high school, so that was much more important to me than soccer. My senior year I was the team captain.

Which Hobby People store did you go to? Escondido?

jnev 07.03.2008 05:16 PM

Yah, I am playing competitive, so it is much more time consuming. I went to the one is San Diego.

I got my license this morning by the way!

MetalMan 07.03.2008 08:29 PM

Congrats! How many points did you miss?

jnev 07.04.2008 12:23 AM

4 points (15 is the max you can miss without failing)... but they were all because when going through a green light across an intersection, you have to look left-right-left-right. And I only did the first left-right... and I got another point(s) off because I didn't look back enough when backing up, when in reality, i was looking back almost the whole time... whatever. I'm just happy I passed.
