looks nice, the motor you are running pulls a lot of amps and will run hot if you can a better motor would be a 9XL

MetalMan 07.02.2008 11:51 AM

I see a regular Mamba Max? Looks good, in any case.

BL_WidePede 07.02.2008 01:13 PM

Sorry meant mamba max...

The motor is about perfect in here. Doesn't get overheated. The speed control isn't hardly phased at all. It's a great combo.

So with the stock gearing and the 7xl, it runs good.....and the temps are within range, and no issues with esc...?

Nice mod to make the TrakPower's work...mine wasn't quite so clean...

DRIFT_BUGGY 07.03.2008 08:15 AM

Very nice and tidy setup

That's kinda strange! I was hearing that voice too!

My Fedex tracking number says that it's "Out for Delivery" on the truck today!

I'm a little on the edge of my seat.

bl-is-future 07.03.2008 10:15 AM

I agree, i want an e-revo too. I try to stay away form any e-revo threads to keep me form the impulse buy.

BL_WidePede 07.03.2008 11:18 AM

Thanks for the compliments.

Yea it runs great on stock gearing. Faster than a stock nitro revo 3.3 in acceleration and top speed.

Stuff gets hot but not any hotter than it is supposed too. My mamba max got hotter pushing a CM36 5700kv in my stampede than it does in this.

magman 07.03.2008 12:45 PM

It is v/hard when my kid looks at it and says " Dad why don't we both get one"

blueb8llz 07.03.2008 06:28 PM

hmm..i dint know it was even possible to run the 7xl without having heat probs. your lucky to be not having issues. i have the 7xl /mmm geared 24/68 and i needa take breaks every 10 mins to cool the sucker down. and i dont even bash hard haha.

azjc 07.04.2008 02:54 AM

hes got fans on it...but that serves to cool the can of the motor the interior of the motor will still be hot

yea i know im geared 5t higher, i was just telling you what my gearing was.
but when i said im not sure if its even possible to run the 7xl in low temps was from reading up on posts. there are many out there that tried already, all different gearing and the 7xl is just a heat monster. i think i only read one person didnt have any heat issues...he just has a fan on the motor but i duunno bout that.

BL_WidePede 07.06.2008 02:19 PM

The fan actually went out and I have run it several times without it, just with the heatsink. It doesn't really overheat. I can hold onto it for some time after I run it without it hurting.

Topspeedtimmy 07.06.2008 04:52 PM

I popped your configuration into the speed calculator and it says 35mph. If your vehicle really does go 40 with that setup, then my 9XL on 4s should be doing lower 40s with a 17/36 gearing and slightly larger tires.

BL_WidePede 07.06.2008 10:21 PM

I raced a MGT 8.0 after it was tuned the other day and I have alot more acceleration and a touch more top speed. I think those are good for 40mph...

This setup is only temporary. If the motor frags it's no big deal. I am going to be running the MMM combo with motor. Should be alot more efficient and run cooler which means I can gear it alot higher. I am happy with how this truck runs for now.

I might add that is has been in the 90s outside so it would run cooler on a cooler day.

TDC57 07.07.2008 01:01 AM

That's really good looking build you have there!.. extremely clean well done.. Hope you get the temp thing worked out..

Thanks for your time and have a great one
