So-Cal bash in August (?)

Who is up for it (??) when and where (??)

I’ll start!,
Sunday Aug 17th @ 11:00 am
Location (TBD / Open for discussion)

Thanks for your time..

MetalMan 07.15.2008 02:32 AM

As far as I can tell, that date and time would work well for me. Location? I don't know. LeBard is nice, but I don't wanna seem selfish :diablo:.

jnev 07.15.2008 02:50 AM

I wasn't sure whether I should start a new topic, or someone else would....

Anyway, I will know whether that day works or not by the end of the week. My dad was planning another vacation  from the 12th to 20th, so if it does go through, then I wouldn't be able to make it. But if there is no vacation, then that day/time should work perfectly.

I think we should set aside the 17th and 24th of August and see which one works better for most people.

E-Traxxer 07.15.2008 02:59 AM

I think I'd be able to make it.
Anywhere from where you guys had the last one and south of there is good for me, haha. Closer to San Diego the better for me, but I wouldn't mind driving an hour or two.

TDC57 07.15.2008 02:59 AM

Well the 24th is the day before my B-Day so that will work well for me.. It should give me the opportunity to beat on a few things prior to feeling sorry for myself for getting so fricken old..

Plus everybody will have the opportunity to bring me gifts!!:party: So YES that date works great for me..:yipi::lol::lol:

The 24th should work for me as well.

Presents? My birthday was 5 months ago, do I get any!?
I have a few puffed lipo cells here! I'll wrap them up in flammable wrapping paper. Oh, I have some extra nitro fuel too, I'll throw it in there along with em. Safety hazard anyone? :diablo:

Hmm sounds kind of questionable when taken out of context...

I would say drinking more should help you feel better about yourself. Do liquor stores give senior citizen discounts? You may be in luck (silver lining to every cloud)

TDC57 07.15.2008 03:14 AM

 you bastard....:lol: i dont know how you pulled that one out :oh: but you did..

Good one.. :na:

t-maxxracer32 07.15.2008 03:18 AM

by then i may have my erevo!

ill ask for the 24th off.

Thanks, a good wordy sentence often leaves itself open to a little "mis-interpretation"...

rschoi_75 07.15.2008 11:51 AM

I could probably make it on the 16th, 17th, or 24th. But I'd have to double check.

Travis, seems like Le Bard is a good spot since its almost in the middle of LA and San Diego. I'd love for you guys to come to the Pasadena area, but it will be a 2+ hour drive for anyone coming from SD.

drkros3 07.15.2008 12:30 PM

they 24th would be better for me. i start school like on the 18th so the 17th i well be getting ready.

MetalMan 07.15.2008 03:30 PM

24th works here as well. I'll be in summer school, but that shouldn't be an issue. My regular school year doesn't start until about September 22.

jnev 07.15.2008 03:47 PM

So we can now plan to have it either 17th or 24th of August at 11:00AM.

Now to decide where to have it... LeBard park is fine with me again. Its great that its so close to many of your houses, and there are outlets there for charging. It seems to be the middle of everyone from LA to San Diego.

Are there any other places in that area or near by?

E-Traxxer 07.15.2008 03:55 PM

If there are any construction sites nearby, those are usually a pretty great place to bash.

TDC57 07.15.2008 05:50 PM

I’ve got access to a construction site with dirt piles 8’ and site work drop-off’s 10’ but it’s Santa Monica, with no power, so I don’t think so, but if everyone else is up for it we are good to go there. The total site about 75 acres large so there is ample room to bash / explore..

I’ve also got access to heavy equipment there so if we needed to build a jump higher than 8 feet that is not an issue at all..

I’ll check with my dirt bike buddies and see if they is anything in-between OC and SD.

Thanks for your time and have a great one

TDC57 07.17.2008 03:18 AM

So the 8' jumps and 10' dropoff are a no (??)

drkros3 07.17.2008 11:46 AM

im down for a 8' and 10' dropoffs lol.

jnev 07.17.2008 01:21 PM

I love 8 and 10 foot jumps. Construction sites are usually the best places to bash too. But being in Santa Monica, it is quite a drive from us guys in San Diego, especially, since if it is on the 24th, I'll have school starting up again the next day... and even if its on the 17th, it is still a good 2 hour drive...

MetalMan 07.18.2008 01:06 AM

Shaun, you saw how I beat up my RCs, so you can probably guess I'm down for the big stuff.

TDC57 07.18.2008 02:12 AM

No question there Metalman you beat your RC the rite way..:yes:

So I’m checking on a portable Gen and I found that the site has some porto pots used by the site workers, I think I can even get a water truck to park nearby if we need it. However like jnev pointed out it’s another 1.30 minutes away from HB, so I’ll let the team decide, I'm also good for another round at park, still no word back from my dirt bike buddies on a spot between SD and OC.

Is it safe to say the 24th is the date (??) can we agree on that (??)

Can we all bring what we brought last time and call it good (??)

Thanks for your time team and have a great one…

i think its worth it though:yes:

TDC57 07.18.2008 02:50 AM

where are you coming from TM (??)

t-maxxracer32 07.18.2008 03:28 AM

TDC57 07.18.2008 03:47 AM

Wow.. That's impressive..

Your welcome to sleep on the couch Saturday day night if you want to get here Saturday and relax or drink or what ever.. no big deal just offering it up..

I do know this great place to shoot pool and pound a few back where the ladies / waitresses all wear skimpy lingerie ranging from leather to lace.. for what it’s worth..

No Jnev you can not go and I will not tell you were it is!!.. :na:

P.S.
I do have (3) XL dogs so FYI they will keep you in line..:lol::lol:

t-maxxracer32 07.18.2008 03:51 AM

haha im only 18 so i think some of that i may not be able to do but we will see how things go if i am able to make it there!

need to continue saving my money!!

got about half of what i need for the revo.

TDC57 07.18.2008 04:04 AM

:oh: OOOOoo a pup... :gasp:

then no I’m sorry I’m withdrawing my offer..  But it will be great to have you at the bash..:mdr:

Sorry... dint know..

jnev 07.18.2008 01:01 PM

Aaah!! Come'on!! I think I can pass as 21... :drunk: :great:

On a separate note, it seems more people will be there than last time, and if the place is all that you say it is, I may be able to swing the drive.

E-Traxxer 07.21.2008 02:05 AM

I'm fine driving up to Santa Monica for the bash. I actually just got back to SD from there now, haha. 8 and 10 footers sounds delicious to me.

drkros3 07.21.2008 10:32 AM

yah the 23rd sound good to me. hopefully my outrunner idea on my revo goes good. if it does i well have something to drive. if not i might just bring the tamiya car haha.

FDK8776 07.23.2008 12:48 AM

I'm not going to be a day late and a dollar short for this one!

jnev 07.23.2008 12:59 AM

 Too bad you missed the previous one. So this one will be on August 17th or 24th at the construction site TDC knows about or LeBard park. Now to actually make the final decisions...

BP-Revo 07.23.2008 01:01 AM

August 24th or 17th is fine. I saw a 23rd there though - thats a no-can-do for me, its my dad's birthday.

TDC57 07.23.2008 10:06 PM

I thought it was the 24th:whistle:
The Site in Santa Monica should be a total blast!, I just need to confirm power!, I spoke with the site superintend on Friday and he said he'll even grade us out a track on 1/2 acre if we wanted too,:gasp: but he wants in!..

Once power is confirmed we should decide between the park or the construction site. I’ll now by Monday the 28th.

Have a great one..

P.S.
Bring your badlands and spare parts :lol:

jnev 07.23.2008 11:20 PM

That sounds absolutely awesome Shawn! I am definitely looking forward to it. I just hope the MMM's will be shipping by then. Then I'll have two more cars running.

MetalMan 07.23.2008 11:53 PM

That sounds like something worth spending some $$$ on gas for... Definitely count me in.

jnev 07.24.2008 12:38 AM

Your beast looks great! :diablo:

Plans really do seem to change quickly. It turns out I have a soccer game on Sunday the 24th... would it be too big of an inconvenience to you guys to move the bash to the 17th of August? Would that still work for you guys? Sorry about the late notice, but I asked my dad right when this topic was posted and he said I didn't have anything on the 24th and that we'd be on vacation on the 17th, and now he got an email saying I have a game on the 24th and no vacation on the 17th... go figure how that happened so quickly. Sorry again guys. Hopefully all the same people can still make it there the 17th...?

EDIT: What happened to the buggy TDC? Is it a surprise?

17th is fine by me.

I think he removed it 'cuz it's no longer a "sneak peak".

mtbnjim 07.24.2008 01:05 AM

...if it's in Santa Monica I'm in
shaun,
if I can't make it, I've got a cool mod done to your G3 that I'd give for you to run. Hopefully the MMM will be ready, but if not you can throw any esc in the 6s-8s realm and the G3 will haul arse.... :yipi:

jnev 07.27.2008 12:41 AM

So is the 17th of August all right with everyone else? TDC, BP-Revo, rschoi, Cornolio... anyone else I missed who went last time or wants to go this time? I hope the 17th works out for everybody...
