mmm v2 close
 

i have heard that the v2 is close to realease, due to the fact that there producing 15 test v2's and sending them out to customers for testing and the people who get them gotta reply to castle what they think of the v2's so castle knows weather they can make a production run of them or not.

the reason i know is because i got a email asking if i wanted to get one of the test v2's :yipi:

Actually I can get you a replacement within this week. We have produced 15 revised controllers and your name has come up for verification of the new design. If you would be so kind as to give this Monster a through workout and report back when you get some results. We will be sending out some type of appreciation gift for any information provided, and for the understanding and patience during this situation. If you would like to be one of the first to receive the revised controller, please let me know as quickly as possible; we need to get this tested so we can start the next big production run. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

i was having trouble deciding weather to post this up or not because i had a feeling it would piss people off that im testing one and there not but i figured that people wouldnt really care about that thell just hope that all goes well so they can get there replacements asap

Patrick has already stated that they are in production and will ship in about two weeks. Who exactly sent you this email?

^^^ seen it in another thread that they have started on the v2 productions and will be be shipping replacements out soon. Patrick himself said this. i will try to find the post.

I don't understand why they would send out testers when Patrick already stated that they were in full production right now.

Well, 2 weeks is still a long time...And I dont think beta testers is a bad idea..it should favor us and CC to avoid the mishap from V1. This will insure that we have a working condition V2.

Only thing Im concern is that they never gave RCM Forum gods to test. I think they would beat the hell out of those MMM and make a better conclusion. No offense to those who got it :)

I got a e-mail from CC today here is what it said>:
Unfortunately right now all Monster Max's sent in for repair are on engineering hold. There was a component supply problem that forced us to redesign the control board. We have finished the new design and our in-house testing. We have sent out a dozen or so controllers for independent verification that the fix has worked. As soon as we verify the new design, we will be ramping up full production; and you will get one of the first controllers from the new batch. By best estimates, we are looking at a 2-3 week lead time, if everything goes smoothly. We will update everyone with a failed controller if there are any hang ups or problems with the new design. We are confident in the new design, we just want to verify everything so we can avoid any future problems. I apologize for the longer than normal repair time, and any frustration and withdrawals caused by the down time. We will be sending a token of our appreciation to everyone with a failed controller, for their patience and understanding as we resolve this issue. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

not trying to rub it in anyones face but im glad to be testing a v2 it makes me feel all warm inside jk. i hope the problems solved with what they have done.
i was really looking forward to testing it this weekend and giving my report back to tomas at cc but there a good chance of thunder stoms here in ny all weekend and into next week so hopefully mother nature will let me get a few good runs in so i can put it to the test. im going to try it on the same setup it failed on first 8xl, 4s 8000s on 20/38 in my revo then im gonna step it up to 22/38 and see how it does then i have to see if i can barrow my dads neu 1527 1d from his boat for the extreme test 6s 8000s on 15/38

Sorry, but I am not buying any of this as it is completely contradictory to what Patrick (who is the owner of CC) said just this week. As well, no one here has offered definitive proof to what they claim other than some obscure and incomplete references.

i can see where people might not belive me but i know what i know because i talked to tomas on the phone tuesday about it and he said well have it shipped out tomarrow and sure enough yesterday when i checked my email there was a email saying a package has been shipped to you and i havent ordered anything or had anything in for repairs in a while eccept fot my mm which i got the email for that monday and got it in the mail yesterday so im pretty sure its for the mmm

Makes sense to me. Some people will just refuse to believe in any additional delay at all unless Patrick himself comes on here and tells them so ;).

Well both of you guys seems got a point. I know beta testing is good before main production and it sounds sensible. However, in some point Texas is also correct. Im not saying anything but unless Patrick is just making sales talk, he did say that production has started on the 14th or something

I hope they did do beta test for confirmation but also hoped that it will not cause more delay.

Look, if BrianG or some other long time poster with a lot of credibility came on here and said this, I would have an easier time believing it. I am not saying the guy is lying, it just doesn't jive with everything else castle has said recently. Sorry if I am more inclined to believe the horses mouth directly than someone I have no clue about. Of course this is the internet and no one ever makes up stories here..........

I'm not slamming anyone, but I do figure if this was false info, he would have been corrected already. Not much chance of someone posting false info about Castle in this section of RCM without getting called out on it ;).

IMO it just makes good sense to send a dozen or so out for some initial feedback to avoid another incident like we just had with the V1 Monster's. I'm refraining from judgment either way at this point, I just feel it would be a smart move on castle's part. I'd say they would choose randomly out of those waiting for ESC's to make the offer to.

How about posting up some pictures of that test V2 unit to put this argument to rest ?

i should have it tomarrow seeing as i got my mm back 2 days after i got the email notifacation so i can post some pics of it.

I have an MMM being repaired and I am waiting on 2 other new castle escs that I ordered ages ago. When will the pain end. I need escs :cry:. Everything brushless seems to be out of stock at the moment. I'm trying to order a VXL Rustler and they are out of stock most places as well.

I guess this will answer everything....

i really wanna test it out but tomarrows looking to be the only good day for a week. till next tuesday theres a good chance of rain everday. ill have to see if i can call in sick tomarrow :whistle::whistle:

What he says is correct--- we had an issue with one of the stencils (that we found during production of the first two panels) that required that we have new stencils made for the Monster.

So we thought -- well, we might as well make this into an extended Beta, just to get a few more out there and let people bash 'em up a bit.

The new stencil will be in on Monday, and production will resume then.

The email I received yesterday stated that new version MMMs are being sent out to a few select MMM customers whose controlers have failed for real world testing.This is a good sign since my first failed MMM was repaired and returned to me only to fail again.:whip::whip::whip::whip::whip::whip::whip:

I stand corrected. I think you can appreciate my skepticism though being the internet and all.

My fault -- I should have got on here a couple days ago when we ran the first panels and ran into the solder stencil problem.

i was worried about it going up when i first stared doing real speed runs with the mmm
i was running it pretty hard on 20/38 and temps only hit 170 a few times. and i hit 53 mph with it. i really need a neu but 255 is a big hole in my pocket after so ill upgrade when the feagio goes out

Does this mean more delay or what? Im really thinking about canceling my order and maybe ordering a new one till next summer instead and then buy the MMM+1512 combo.
Is it another 2-3 weeks from now, and then another week or two until they get here (sweden)?
I would really want a straight answer...... im so tired of all the delays and my vacation is over in a couple of weeks so..... i placed my order in the beginning of May....

I'm doing this to prove a point, you have all been fooled into believing what they want you to think, I do big business like this all the time and CC know the date now!, hell they’ve know for a while but for them to come out 2 month ago and say it’s a 3-4 month fix would have driven all prospective buyers away, so they have been feeding just enough information to keep the masses interested.

Hell they knew they were going to do further bata testing but they they ever say that NO.. Why because that more time and more chances for people to go else where. it's all been a line people..

I for one have been calling their bluff from the beginning and will continue to until they provide product I paid for close to 3 months ago and still have not received..

I will have to agree with you on that point...but really up to us who bought and pre-ordered this...i have all the option to get MGM or Tekin yet I pre-order 2 (1 was just 3 days ago)...

I wont be taking you on this bet as I know that CC cant deliver sooner that what you've said...its a sad fate but that is what it is....

Fineline Stencil is delivering stencils on Monday morning. I confirmed that this morning. Production starts Monday -- so we should be shipping before the end of next week. Now, depending on where you bought your Monster, you might not get YOURS until much later -- but that won't be Castle's fault.

do those 40 people have e-mails? or will it be a surprise? I just bought a new lipo from Mike today for my MMM when it gets back. hopefully soon, thank you for the update. I bought my monster direct ;)

Can one ring up and see if one was in the 40?

I was just thinking the same thing. I was going to go buy a new esc today locally so i could run my revo in a local event next saturday, but if my MMM will be back I will save the cash..

edit: just called, morgan is checking on my status and will call me back. such friendly people answering the phones :)
