Very nice job. Looks great! What Neu motor and batteries are those?

jayjay283 07.16.2008 08:26 PM

its a 1.5d I just got a couple weeks ago, but it runs the MM real hot about 10 min of bashing and need to stop for 10. Need my monster ! The 1y can go all day with the MM. Those are Neu 30c packs I got from Diversity Air. They wouldnt fit in the stock 3905 chassis (too long) had to grind a chassis all up, but fit nice in the gmaxx.

suicideneil 07.16.2008 09:00 PM

No shortage of power on tap with those batts huh?

George16 07.16.2008 09:34 PM

Nice truck.

Looking at the underbelly, can you put something in there to smoothen out the area where the skids are connected to the chassis? It looks like it might get snagged into something and rip it off. Like a flat piece of aluminum stretching from the front skid to the rear. Kind of a center skid, sort of.

jayjay283 07.16.2008 09:42 PM

lol no lack Neil, Joe and Patric said only use good batterys for the Monster so out went the Max(min)Amps in came the highest amps I could find that didnt break the bank.... George, Yeah i know, it surely will catch on something sooner or later, I have a piece of carbon that was a middle for the 3905 braces I was going to try to pop on the middle to cover the exposed tranny bottom but something longer would be ideal. Maybe time to invest in a CF sheet.

TruckBasher 07.16.2008 09:57 PM

Nice truck, how does it handle? Is the upper deck thick enough not to flex?

DRIFT_BUGGY 07.16.2008 10:05 PM

Far out, nice work :intello:

jayjay283 07.16.2008 10:12 PM

thanks, no credit to me, I just screwed the stuff together. It handles really nice with the 8x 8ight shocks and knuckle head towers and the LCG with all the lipos. The top chassis tray is pretty thick, I was pleasantly surprised. When its all screwed together theres no flex, alot better than I thought it would be when I purchased the kit. For the price id say its pretty good, except that bottom skid plate lip issues.

TruckBasher 07.16.2008 10:21 PM

Well that's great to hear....I know what to get if my G2 fails

My only concern is my A123 will be too big to be mounted on those narrow tray...

TDC57 07.17.2008 03:06 AM

wow... :gasp: Nice build Jay..
I'm running mine on 8s and breaking parts, I hope / wish you better luck than I’m having..

Sweat builds for sure... Love the Lipo's... those cost almost as much as the chassis itself.. :mdr:

So where's the video (??)

Have a great one and very cool sir...:intello:

BL_RV0 07.24.2008 09:49 AM

Impressive! When you said 10s 5000mah, and I saw the MM, I said "Wow, I can see his next thread title, 'MM Super-overvoltage testing: Mission Failed!'"
Nice rig, 5s 10000mah will be powerful, but quite heavy I might add, (tell me something I don't already know, you're probably saying as you read this...)

Being 2 5s 5000mah, they must cost more than the chassis!

LOL ! No havent driven it that way, Those 5s 5ks are for my truggy (1 at a time), but I will when the Monster max is back, just because I can  There are huge parks out here and the family goes and hangs out all day, I bring all my rc toys trucks, planes, boats and it would be fun to chase the kids and geese for over an hour on 1 charge but id probably snap the chassis if I jumped. I usually drive that motor with 4s 5k and it weighs in less than stock now.

SunnyHouTX 07.25.2008 07:36 AM

Hey jayjay283, what wheel/hub adapters are those? I have the same wheels on my truggy and want to put them on my E-Maxx. Thanks.

Very nice truck BTW! Looks stout with the 3.3 axles and Flextek arms.

TruckBasher 07.25.2008 08:20 AM

If this is the 23mm adapter it should be the dace 23mm adapter

Dace 23mm hex adapters-Blue

if im not mistaken..i have the same on my Maxx1

jayjay283 07.25.2008 03:09 PM

Im using the 17mm Traxxas platinum revo hubs in the top pics (now) LINK the ones in the bottom pic are ofna 17mm I was using but they had some play in them in all directions. The traxxas ones are really nice, no play, best 17mm ive used.

they are these wheels just to make sure. Link

azjc 07.25.2008 03:59 PM

10s and 1515/2y would be a nice comb would run very cool(temps) I want to do that with my converted 3.3 Revo

SunnyHouTX 07.25.2008 04:48 PM

jayjay283: thanks for the link!

azjc: Now I am tempted to hang on to my HV-110 and 4S packs and run a Medusa 036-60-1500v2-5 in my E-Maxx.

Sunny

I have a HV 110 and I need to get some longer wires for my Hurcules BEC and I will be ready to hook it up but I am in no hurry I have a second MMM that is still running that Ia m running on 6s

SunnyHouTX 07.26.2008 08:42 AM

Yeah man, internal conflict in my mind: sell HV-110 and lipos and get bigger drag racing budget or keep 'em and for the e-maxx for insane power and runtimes.... tsk tsk tsk. Tough call.

TDC57 08.01.2008 01:55 AM

WOW Jay :gasp: that looks real good.. and real expensive!!:intello: is your wife like mine (completely clueless) to what we have in our toys (?)..

Outstanding job as always..

P.S.
I bet the boys on the Traxxas website pissed themselfs when you showed this one to them LOL.LOL..

jayjay283 08.30.2008 11:43 PM

Lol thanks Shaun, Not really after your worlds nicest grevo and neils gmaxx, mines pretty average. Of course the wife has no idea, I actually have to spend money so the accounts she knows about resemble the lies I make up about my finances. Augusts accumulations as follows:
UE 8 diffs, Sweets "Strobe" braces, mono block and 150mm shaft from rcalloys. That and a used muggy and speedT but thats for another thread.

Its now 22 inches long bumper to bumper lol

tt-01 mamba 08.31.2008 06:45 AM

Nice build.

What wheel and tyres are those?

suicideneil 08.31.2008 11:57 AM

Thats some serious bit of length there, whats the wheel base?- I think Im at 14" on the Gmaxx.

jayjay283 08.31.2008 03:06 PM

tt-01:

Wheels
Hubs
Tires

Neil: It measured in at 14.5" center of stub to center of stub, How long is a flm savvy ? How long must I stretch this. Will a mono fit infront LOL

tt-01 mamba 09.01.2008 05:39 PM

Thanks

suicideneil 09.01.2008 07:01 PM

You could in theory use another monoblock at the rear. FLM savy is about 17" I think- fecking huge.
Awesome looking machine man.

coolrunnings 09.03.2008 06:52 AM

Have you weighed it? I'm guessing around 12-13 pounds no? also looks nice.

jayjay283 09.03.2008 04:02 PM

I just weighed it with the new mods, thanks for reminding me lol.. It weighed 10.4lbs without lipo and 11.6lbs with 5s. (Neu 2d/MMM/1 servo) The gmaxx chassis weighs 15% less than stock and the Flextek Ti arms are light, UE alum is lightweight (not the spider 8s pretty heavy). If I got lightweight wheels i may be able to knock another 3/4 lb off. Not a bad weight considering it weighted 13lbs before I gmaxx and UE'd it up.

TDC57 10.29.2008 01:08 AM

Got any new updates Jay ??? how about some bashing Video for the team..

OOhhh FYI I just weighed my GR3 with two 3s 5400 and body it weighs in at 11.15.4 (how are you 9 oz lighter than me) ??? you bastard.. LOL.LOL

Have a great Sir

sikeston34m 12.07.2008 08:26 PM

What are the dimensions of those 5S Batteries? I haven't been able to locate that info myself.

Looks to be about the largest that will comfortably fit.

I'm just wondering how wide and how long a battery this chassis will accept.

Great Looking Build!

jayjay283 12.07.2008 10:12 PM

The stats on the 5s Neu lower link are pretty close, but you have to consider wire placement is at 1 edge and takes up some space. My calipers measure the sides (width) at 46.76. just less then the site claims, my calipers only go up to 150mm so i cant measure the length, But id say its about right but maybe need to add 2mm (over the 165mm) if you are fitting it in a tray. No problem for the gmaxx4 chassis it could be 5mm wider and 15mm longer. If you have a specific battery of want me to measure the tray more I can. I have a thread on traxxas.com under jayjay283 title g4maxx that I did pretty specific measurements for a dude. (banned from there so cant link you lol)
