My BL savage
Hey guys. i started building it up today. i will put pics up a little later. for some reason my steering is messed. if i turn my wheel for it to turn right it goes right and when i turn it for left it goes right (might be opposite but something like that) and it is very weak, i am thinkin cause i am testing with a receiver battery and it is not fully charged. Any suggestions on what it might be are muchly apprecitaed. thanks
Hey toby! Your in a BL savvy project too? :P For the left right thing it might be opposite setting on your Reciever , (swith the steering servo wires around), but that might not be the problem, yes the sloppy steering is most likely from low voltage.
nice work, those shocks are pretty big! where are you working? inside or outside ?:P
outside in my shed. it is getting dark out so i had to quit. no power out there and thanks
fresh air is always nice:) how long did just that rear take?
From the last pic it looks like you have something wrong with your steering linkage.
there is something wrong
been trying to work it out for a while now. any suggestions? i cannto figure it out. gotta pick some gearing. and where do i get a pinion for my motor from? |
Mike can get your pinion to you there toby. could you have your servo mounted backwards. My brother done that on a maxx.
what way should the gear be facing. the back or front?
I think you may have it backwards toby. Looking at the last pic you got up. take the arm off and flip the gear to the front. I am not sure on this because I don't have a savage.
i have a savage, you need to turn the servo around. And in that last pictureyuo have the servo arm on wrong you need to turn it 90 degrees to the right( the servo arm should be across the servo width way not length way, hope that made sence lol). wish i had a bl savage. maybe that can be my next project once i've finished my e-maxx. those lst shocks are alot better than stock ones, i wish they would fit on the e-maxx.
Basketti is right. You need to turn the servo and connect the servo arm as is showen in my picture.
http://members.lycos.nl/datading/upl...creens_310.jpg I'm also building a BL savage. I have ordered a 7Xl wanderer and a 9920 by Mike, but it is still not in stock yet. My savage loves to go bashing! |
That is why i am doing this. I want to bash a big electric beast. so flip the servo and put the arm on a 90 degree flip
when i hit the gas is when my mechanical break goes as well. someone know what that problem might be?
so when you hit the gas the servo turns anitclockwise? and the breaks go on? you might have the breaks to tight, just losen the screws the hold the breaks on. do you have a pic of the throttle servo and the linkage to the breaks? just incase theres something wrong there like your steering servo
I don't understand what the problem is Toby, could you please explain?
everything on this truck seems to be reversed. i turn the wheel forward (should make it turn right) and it turns left and same with left goes rigjht. and i cannot figure out this mechanical break? On my radio i hit the throttle trigger and that is when the linkage goes, but then i spin the spur gear and hit the "gas" for break and it does not push it enough to break
Okay, you need some adjustment on the break, what way is the brake going? being pushed away from the serv or pulled towards it?
what transmittor do you use? hasnt it got a reverse mode? |
got the steering fixed, it is sloppy but i will get the cam type servo saver soon.

nice truck!! I like the look of the lst shocks on the savage, i would have done it on my savage aswell but i sold it lol. yeah the cam servo saver makes a big difference, you should get some bearings for it aswell.
is it just me or is the center hole for the motor shaft of center?
it is LOL, my dad kind of messed up BUT it works, the shaft clears by like 1 MM though maybe 2.
thats pretty close. you might want to think about drill it out some more or getting a dremel and taking some material of of the other side.
.2 mm clearance allready is enough squee. no need for stress..
Serum please answer my PM, it is very important that i get it today, because my dad is leaving.
Sorry Toby, something must have went wrong again with my email, i will fix it right away.
The size for the U profile is 30X30 and it's 2.5 mm thick. |
30mm by 30mm??? is that the width and length?
It's a U profile. You know the length you need and the distance for the holes?
It's 30X30mm (30 high, 30 width) and the thickness is 2.5 |
i know, i feel stupid, i found that out after, when the numbers are buig my brain must assume it is huge
I believe you.. Don't enclose pictures to prove.. I've got a good visual.
here are some pics with body off and with my savage.

What motor is in your 18t? do you like the t-bone bumper?
i have a mamba comp x and the bumper is AMAZING
is it just me or is the left front wheel toe'd way out?

No, Toby, think a little more possitive.
Squee means that he can do you a favor with it. I understand what you mean toby, not saying anything about the trucks, in your eyes it's all negative, the comment on the truck, but i am SURE that in his mind Squee had nice comment as well. And the toe out can be easely adjusted with a little twitch of the turnbuckle. While an ugly truck takes a more time consuming approach.. :p |
sorry, i got the battery trays done and they are momunted now.
Now THAT's fast!!!
Have you got some pics Toby? |
i will get some right now serum. thanks again to everyone especially dafni serum and mike
