BL CRT.5 race from this weekend at Barnstormers

Watch RCM Mike tear us up. lol. Very fun little trucks on the big track. Get a couple more guys on the track and it would be a real shootout. Tough little trucks and inexpensive to run. Currently I got just a feigao 12S on 3S 2500 pack and a sidewinder. Chris and Mike had 2S and an 8L and a medusa 50mm 4800(?) respectively IIRC.

BlackedOutREVO 07.22.2008 04:54 PM

I assume Mike was running the RCM chassis? Was he running the R1PRO?

Looks like fun! I cant wait to finish my 2nd one!

Haha.. no I'm driving the purple/yellow car in 2nd place.
Tony from Crusin' with RC's in Ramsey, NJ was nice enough to take the vid. Lou is the announcer and is always saying something funny.

Mike had a RCM ext chassis and ext arms .5 there (nice btw) but no speed controller to run it on. He's just laying it w/ a bone stock .5. ESC.. I'm not certain, thought it was a MM, but god knows.

Sweet! Sorry I missed it. I got my crt.5 ready and everything! I'll be there next time though.

Bye:mdr:

Arct1k 07.22.2008 05:06 PM

I thought he said about anytime now. He could say for sure. He did the Big Bore shock conversion (w/ GTR shocks) as well on it and the nice thing was the longer arms allowed the upper shock mounts to be put into the normal holes instead of forcing them into the body mount holes.

Anyone should def make a trip. Its a heck of a lot of fun and no pressure racing.

That sounds awesome! I cant wait for those! I will for sure be buying some:lol:

Is he going to ano them black? If not, I sure will be:mdr:

Arct1k 07.22.2008 05:44 PM

Ammo 2600 was ok - but didn't have the instant kick I liked.

Soon - Mike was waiting on some custom front turnbuckles for steering arms IIRC. Really the only think needed was for mike to build towers and a front centre diff mount and all you'd need would be diffs cases and hubs :)

It ends up being jato sized.... The really neat feature was he offset the diff like on the 8T so that there is more room for the battery pack...

DRIFT_BUGGY 07.22.2008 06:33 PM

Sweet, never heard of the extended arms for the crt.5, anyone got a photo comparison

maxair45 07.23.2008 01:57 PM

Yes does anyone have a photo comparison and a link if possable?

Finnster 07.23.2008 02:06 PM

Sry, had I been thinking I would have snapped one on my cell. Hopefully Mike can throw some pics up soon. They look really great.

maxair45 07.23.2008 02:44 PM

Thank you. I just got one off a guy on another forum and am excited to upgrade it. Are there any good upgrades durability wise?

Arct1k 07.23.2008 03:08 PM

Extended chassis - CNC hex's - I kept breaking my top plate so purchased a BCE one - Shocks (See thread in truggy section re Revo/Jato shocks for front and Buggy shocks for rear)

The servo saver is the remaining weak link - I moved my turnbuckles to inner holes and have had less of a problem since then...

Finnster 07.23.2008 03:16 PM

There are a ton of CNC parts ofna sells, but they aren't cheap. Good thing is they generally aren't needed. The truck is pretty tough out of the box. The one upgrade I did get are the 7075 CNC chassis braces. I launched mine off a giant dirt hill bashing around one day and fragged the landing right on the wing. The plastic brace bent and so did the rear dogbone. Luckily nothing else was damaged. Nitrohouse has them cheapest for $30 or $35.

I don't like beating the crap out of my trucks, but it has taken a pretty good unintentional beating since I got it and almost nothing has broke. The only really weak spot is the servo saver, but I moved the ball studs to the inner ackerman hole (after Arct1ks advice) and so far so good.

Edit:

Oh yeah don't forget the big bore shock mod. The stock shocks are crappy and small. Go-Ride has a good thread of his mod in the truggy section w/ pics. That's only $30 or so as well. The extended chassis is standard now IIRC too.

maxair45 07.23.2008 03:22 PM

I'm going to run revo shocks so my suspension should be good to race. I'll look into those chassis braces even though I am not planning on racing I want to keep the easily broken parts on hand with the lhs not having the parts for the .5 in stock.

Arct1k 07.23.2008 03:31 PM

Then get a set of arms, front hubs and bumpers to

jnev 07.23.2008 03:33 PM

Here is a picture of the extended arms from RCX:
