Favorite Steak House
My rating
1. Flemings 2. Ruth Chris 3. Mortons I have been to all 3 and actually Flemings and Ruth Chris is more like 1a and 1b....they both have great steaks ( get the bone in Porterhouse med rare) IMO Flemings has the better side dishes and Flemings makes a great Vodka Martini. up untill acouple of years ago I thought The Outback was fine untill aI recieved a gift certificate to Flemings...I havnt been back since to The Outback...funny thing though The Outback and Flemings are owned by the same group. |

I'm in a small town, Meridian, Ms, and we don't have a large selection of steakhouses, but we have a "non-chain" steak house called Old Farm Beef House that has one of the best steaks i have had anywhere + they have a viewing window overlooking the grill and u can actually pick ur steak. The best "chain' steakhouse is Outback around here.

Ruth Chris here.
Yum. Now I'm hungry for steak :oh: |
+1 to Ruth Chris! The fillet there is just out of this world...

I have an Indian casino about a mile from my house that has a fantastic steakhouse. The service is also probably the best I have had anywhere, and I travel a lot for work so I have been to many great steakhouses.

I've been to Ruth's Chris a couple of times here and it was good, but I really like this place better:

1. Brenner's-Houston only orignally owned by a german family but now owned by Landry's, semi-formal with the best service anywhere
2. Jaspers-Like Flemings but more casual, kind of outdoor gourmet 3. The Taste of Texas-family owned, very casual, top notch service 4. Fleming's-Probably the best major chain steakhouse Then there is Fogo De Chao which is not really a steakhouse but a Brazilian Churascaria (sp?) which is awesome for any meat fanatic, all types of meats served off of large skewers and all you can eat, not cheap but well worth the money. |

Ruth's Chris and Morton's are great places. I also love Brazilian steakhouses, Mongolian BBQ, and of course Korean BBQ...mmmm they're all good.
My favorite has to be Lawry's in Beverly Hills or Vegas. They serve up the best cuts of prime rib you've ever tasted. They literally melt in your mouth. The sides rock too. |

I'm going to break tradition over here, but this place is something special.
It's called McMillion's Bar-B Q and it's in Pompano Beach, Florida on Martin Luther King Jr. BLVD west of I-95. They have what I think the best ribs on Earth. It's so good, after I moved to NJ, I ask my brother to buy it and ship it to me. Here is a picture of it with their phone number in case anyone needs directions. |
No love for Applebees????
I am quite partial to Copelands myself. Not too many of them up north, but in Southern LA there are quite a few. I have been to Ruth Chris twice, and had a great steak the 1st time and a poor steak the 2nd time. Not worth the money for 50% satisfaction... The Brazilian Beef thing sounds interesting. I am not sure we have anything like that here. I do like the Hibachi Filet that the local Osaka does. They buy very lean cuts and cook them well. Probably my favorite place to eat. |
Taco Bell's Steak Taco's steak hands down. For a good table tell em Bruce750i sent you.

El Gaucho Steak house – Seattle, WA waterfront peir 39 (I think)
It’s nothing short of spectacular. Live music, beautiful interiors, fine / exclusive wines and a top notch cigar room.. Good times…. |

Nine steakhouse inside palms hotel in las vegas. its actaully my fav. restaurant as well.
House of prime rib in san francisco for best prime rib. |
Theres a Ruth Chris here in minneapolis. It was a $320 bill for 4 people. It was great steak, but nowhere near worth the money. I'll take the all you can eat prime rib for $20 at the indian casino anyday. So many peole spend so much money and tell themselves its better because they paid more. A filet is a filet and a porterhouse is a porterhouse. I will go back to outback and will not go back to Ruth Chris. Where do you people get your money?!

Ruth Chris steakhouse for me. However, there was a better steakhouse (I forgot the name) I dined in when our ship visited Cape Town, South Africa back in the late 90's.
|
Best steak I ever had was at Sparks in NYC, I lived about 200ft from Smith and Wollnskys but didnt like them as much

Mortons is my fav...I do love Ruth's Chris too but I find them somewhat inconsistent. Mortons is just always awesome, save room for the amazing chocolate soufflé!
