Associated SC8...pics revealed

Looks, it's everything none of us ever wanted in a power system!

magman 08.15.2008 08:09 PM

Looks interesting. Need better pics to make more observations...thanks for these!!

What's_nitro? 08.15.2008 08:11 PM

I like everyting about it. Except the powerplant. That roll cage is sweet looking. Are there more detailed space available anywhere?

BlackedOutREVO 08.15.2008 08:27 PM

Im guessing the RC8 motor mount would work in it

Looks nice. much better then the slayer IMO

Electric Dave 08.15.2008 08:31 PM

I know it was wishful thinking but I was pretty sure it was going to be Electric...oh well, another vehicle to convert!

jayjay283 08.15.2008 08:31 PM

Thats really nice, looks cool without the lid. I hope its a kit with no engine, no controller etc. Love to get one and smoke my neighbors Slash :mdr:

magman 08.15.2008 08:31 PM

Put a 1512 on 4s in that and wahooooooo!

BL_RV0 08.15.2008 10:22 PM

Or... a 2230 and 10s! :surprised:

brushlessboy16 08.15.2008 10:28 PM

or a 1527 :D

brushlessboy16 08.15.2008 10:31 PM

the black body looks soooooooooooo awesome

2230 > 1527.
Nuff said. :intello:

TexasSP 08.15.2008 11:33 PM

It's only better if it will fit and not destroy the drive train every two seconds. Bigger isn't always better.

jayjay283 08.15.2008 11:49 PM

If it cant handle a 2230 on 10s out of the box its just poor design on Team Associated AE's part

brushlessboy16 08.16.2008 12:16 AM

yah they should give us a refund or send us sc8 v2's :D

ffactory666 08.16.2008 01:48 AM

Good find

I like the tube upper chassis , never saw that coming . Hard to tell without closer pics but the RCM mount should work in this .
Hope it's not rtr like the Slayer and just a roller or kit .

brushlessboy16 08.16.2008 05:45 AM

AE will probably do both, assembled roller and RTR

E-Traxxer 08.16.2008 06:28 AM

I love the all black one.
I like the looks of this much more than the slash. It looks more realistic, and it's 4wd! The cage is pretty awesome too, though I bet it's just plastic for minor crash protection/looks.

I want one...

brushlessboy16 08.16.2008 06:46 AM

im sure someone will develop a full metal cage :D

phatmonk 08.16.2008 07:02 AM

This is awesome I assume that RCM has a conversion.

phatmonk 08.16.2008 07:12 AM

Will that body fit a 1/8 buggy?:intello:

brushlessboy16 08.16.2008 07:15 AM

if it uses the standard rc8 chassis then yes

There will be new classes at every track with all these new desert trucks coming out. I bet Losi will make another one soon based off of the 8ight. I wonder how the SC8 will compare to the Slayer... center diff vs. Revo suspension.

rootar 08.18.2008 12:35 AM

this and the slayer arent even CLOSE to being in the same class.....this is a 1/8 buggy, the slayer is a revo with tiny tires. im sure they will handle the same as what they are based off of.

E-Traxxer 08.18.2008 12:42 AM

After seeing those pictures, converting this to brushless is my next project.
This makes the slash/slayer look like kid's toys (as far as looks).

DRIFT_BUGGY 08.18.2008 01:23 AM

AE would of been the last I would of guessed that would bring something like this out. Losi & Kyosho need to look at building one off there buggy chassis

owenracing 08.18.2008 01:37 AM

Hey Guys, so this is a truggy chassis guys. look at the spacing behind the motor, its truggy sized not buggy sized...

ffactory666 08.18.2008 03:38 AM

Loving the all black one

Definately decided on converting this over the Slayer . Damn i just sold my RC8 and RCM conversion last week , should of kept the motor mount for this .

Oh well another order going in to Mike :mdr:

Looking closely at the roll cage doesn't look like there are any welds , think it's plastic .
Also it's hard to tell by the pic but it doesn't look like there is much room for a battery tray .

Yup, I'm planning to use my 2250/10t in my losi 8T

aqwut, sorry for mispelling your name

TruckBasher 08.18.2008 04:07 AM

I like the roll cage and the realistic look.

ffactory666 08.18.2008 06:25 AM

Just hope it's not like AEs normal releases , might not see this in the stores till next year :sarcastic:

It would be fantastic if a new class would start with these corr trucks , i can see the other bigwigs releasing these as well .
Finally a realistic looking off road race machine

This is something that many R/C drivers have only dreamed about, and Team Associated is proud to bring to you the SC8, the first 1:8 scale, nitro 4WD offroad, authentic race truck replicas. Each SC8 comes decked out with one of four fully licensed race truck bodies, wheels and tires, designed to look just like the full size race trucks that run in short course off road series around the country. The world of high-performance R/C has never before seen this level of scale accuracy!

Starting with the championship winning RC8T truggy platform, the SC8 was designed to meet the scale specifications of the full size short course race trucks. It’s all there, from the scale suspension travel, to the roll-cage tube diameter, to the functional mud flaps. The result is the SC8, a creation of an unparalleled scale experience at a level of performance that has never been seen before in true scale.

Underneath the beautifully finished body, roll cage and wheels, beats the heart of a RC8T. The SC8 shares many of the same parts, components, and performance with the RC8T. The SC8 comes fully assembled and ready to go. Team Associated’s Pro.28 engine and XP3D Computerized Digital FM Radio system are factory installed. The differentials and shocks come filled with the proper silicone fluids making it faster and easier than ever to get Team Associated SC8 performance out of the box and into the dirt!

When the designers created the SC8, they knew they had made something very special. Although there may not be a title for the SC8 to compete for upon its release, what Team Associated has seen is how the SC8 instantly wins over the hearts and captures the imaginations of all the people who have seen it, including the world’s hardest critics, us. And this is how the designers have the confidence to say that the SC8 is another champion by design.

Damn , i'm s over these RTR vehicles , at least release this as a roller .
I know it brings beginners into the hobby , but i remember when i first started how much fun it was to build a kit from scratch , that was half the fun .

Just recently putting the X2 together i had the same fun and i am looking forward to putting the D8 together when it arrives .

ffactory666 08.20.2008 10:15 PM

Just checked and TH has is listed as well for back order , same price as A Main and showing mid October for release .
