First E-Slayer...

Here you go guys... The first E-Slayer!

I used a Tekno Revo conversion kit. Everything fits just like a revo without any modifications. We will see how it runs at the track tomorrow against the slashes. I'm running:

Tekno Neu 1515 1.5D
Castle Creations Phoenix HV85 ESC
Neu Energy 4S-5000MAH Lipo
Futaba BLS-351 Steering Servo

What's_nitro? 08.16.2008 02:08 AM

It looks great, very colorful... I think you'll find that you need better tires than the stock set. A few (including myself) have seen a lack of traction while using them. Granted, wheel spin is part of the sport of CORR, but I prefer my truck to GO when I hit the throttle. You have a lot of power there, I don't know how much the 4wd will help you.

ffactory666 08.16.2008 02:14 AM

That looks great .

I can't decide on converting the Slayer ( now i know the Tekno kit fits ) or the AE corr truck when it comes out .

To many toys and not enough money :mdr:

Let us know how it runs compared to the Revo.

What's_nitro? 08.16.2008 02:16 AM

^^^ Very tough choice, indeed.

Thanks guys, I'm actually hoping the extra weight and 4wd will help these tires in getting some traction. HOPEFULLY. lol.

tc3_racer_001 08.16.2008 02:20 AM

looks great!

On second thought, against a 2wd you should do fine! :yipi:

You have probably 4-5X the cost of a Slash in your Slayer conversion...I'd certainly hope it makes a Slash look silly in terms of performance. If it doesn't kick the crap out of the Slashes, if it were me, I think I'd go cry in a corner.

Frozen72 08.16.2008 12:42 PM

I wish that Traxxas just made the Slayer electric.

BrianG 08.16.2008 12:45 PM

Looks nice! How's it handle?

Skellyo: It might cost a whole lot more, but sometimes it's just about having something different or blingy or whatever. Look at a decked out maxx that can cost well into the thousands of dollars - is the cost proportional to the performance?

Surprisingly I dont know how it handles just yet... I finished it really late last night and had to go to bed to get to work this morning. I'll be at work for a couple more hours then I'll head straight to the track. Cant wait! :yipi:

That's not my point. My point is that to compare a 4WD brushless truck on 4S to a 2WD truck (perhaps even brushless on 2S) is really comparing apples to oranges. He did mention he wanted to see how it compared on the track against a Slash, so my assumption is that he is concerned with performance, hence why I posted what I did.

How did I miss this thread ?!

Love the nick Tekno_Addict. Who are you and how did you get the Slayer so quickly? Either way, thanks for confirming our suspicions with the Tekno kit dropping in. Let us know how it runs.

I'm Al and I'm just a crazy person with too much time on his hands... lol.

I was able to get the first one at Mikes Hobby shop over here in Carolton, Texas. Were neighbors with Traxxas so we get their stuff quick. :mdr:

I love the Tekno stuff man. I got hooked after I did the Revo conversion. I've bought tons of stuff from Impakt.

It handles great, it just needs thicker shock oil since it's now heavier than Nitro but other than that the springs work well and everything handles great. I love this truck and I'll be driving it for a while. :yipi:

Thanks guys!

Arct1k 08.16.2008 10:09 PM

xcntrk 09.02.2008 08:49 AM

Tekno_Addict: how’s this sweet Slayer project running? Did you modify the transmission at all; I see the stock brake setup remained? Also still using stock gearing and how’s the ratio?

Thanks for the input and damn nice looking rig!

phatmonk 09.13.2008 09:20 PM

Is that all?

Do I need a Y harness for the brake servo/ESC with a 2 channel radio to complete my e-slayer conversion including the Tekno Revo/Slayer conversion not to mention ESC,motor, battery Slayer?

Yes, just plug the brake servo in one and the ESC in the other. If you have a programmable ESC, shut off the Reverse and brake.
