My Maxx

My BL E-maxx 3905, right now it has Maximizer X-75 beadlocks, proline maxx mashers, proline 08 f250 body, RPM front bumper, FLM front skid, FLM rear skid, FLM front bulk, mamba max, feigao 8XL, CC BEC, two Aero-nuts 2s 4500 mah lipos, traxxas Y-harness wired in series. Next I have planned a 3PK radio system and traxxas big bore shocks.

Looks good. You plan to upgrade to the MMM V2 or no?

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:04 PM

Also, I know my BEC is free hanging and I don't like it, I was thinking about using double sided tape to secure it down, any other suggestions?

Velcro is best for small and lightweight electronics in my opinion. Easy to take off and put on while still being secure.

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:07 PM

Well I just got the BL system in a few weeks ago, and so far I love the Mamba max and 8XL combo, its also great with 4s lipo. But yeah if my mamba max ever quits on me, I will try the MMM v2.

Takedown 08.18.2008 06:10 PM

What are your standard temps on the MM right now? Looks as if you should run atleast a fan over your MM or run a cap board to bring down the temps somewhat. Afterall the less heat the more efficient the setup is which means usable energy isnt being wasted in the form of heat.

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:11 PM

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, I have some spare velcro left, it's much better than double sided tape because double sided tape is REALLY hard to pry off, then when you do get it off it leaves a mess behind, so yeah I will try velcro.

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:12 PM

Well I use the good ol' finger touch test, I can hold my finger on the motor and mamba max just fine for about 1 minute before it starts burning my finger, but I do need to buy a temp guage to really monitor my temps, and yeah a fan wouldnt be a bad idea, maybe the VXL ESC fan?

Takedown 08.18.2008 06:19 PM

The 30mm black fan from novak fit perfectly onto all my MM's. Screws right into the heatsink.

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:24 PM

All right then that is my next purchase for my truck, towerhobbies sells them correct? They are like 20 bucks I think..

brushlessboy16 08.18.2008 06:24 PM

use servo tape for the bec

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:27 PM

Where can I buy servo tape? My LHS maybe, but I don't even know what servo tape is lol..

brushlessboy16 08.18.2008 06:29 PM

its like double sided tape but made of foam, wheres that light kit :D
i have a set of warhead aluminum bodied shocks if your interested could use a rebuild

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:32 PM

The light kit is hidden in the truck, I have it very well mounted, you can only see it when its on and in dark videos hehe, you still interested in me making you one? If I have spare time on my hands I probably could, and yeah I will think about your aluminum shocks offer. Post some pics maybe?

brushlessboy16 08.18.2008 06:38 PM

yeah i still want a light kit,
shocks
they are those, all 8- but didnt come with any boots. rebuild kits are 2.70 or so to do 2 shocks so like 20 bux for a full rebuild

Man they are pretty cool, but do I have another choice of shock color?

brushlessboy16 08.18.2008 06:45 PM

liek spring color?

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:49 PM

Yeah that's what I meant, shock color, like black or something?

brushlessboy16 08.18.2008 06:52 PM

silver, white, blue, green, yellow, you can always get springs for other vehicles though

or just paint them..

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:55 PM

Okay thanks.

http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13823

What body is that?

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 06:58 PM

Cool, great minds think alike, and we both have great taste in wheels and tires, how long you had your X-75s?

magman 08.18.2008 07:01 PM

About a year...the truck has been an on going project for about a year and a half. It has been re done 3 times....this being the third and last.....

What body is on your maxx? I also like you choice of colors...my other buggies are bright orange.....:yipi:

I have had my maximizers for about 2 weeks now and love them so far, much easier than glue, and they hold to the wheel stronger and tighter. Which body are you talking about?

Thanks....I will put that on my wish list.

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 07:05 PM

Yeah it's the Proline '08 Ford F-250 superduty body, looks really good with the neon orange and the black beadlocks IMO.

It surely does....I may have to get a black wing for mine and do something like what you did....:mdr:

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 07:11 PM

I was thinking about a wing, but theres just something about a big MT with a big MT body with a wing that just doesnt look right..just my opinion

brushlessboy16 08.18.2008 07:11 PM

how much does each wheel and tire weigh?

magman 08.18.2008 07:12 PM

Not sure....

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 07:13 PM

I am guessing around a half a pound each, I went over to the LHS and picked up some aluminum wheel nuts, they are alot lighter than the normal metal ones, and shinier.

But hey, to each his own, everyone has their own likes and dislikes and preferences, what you may like I may not.

magman 08.18.2008 07:18 PM

I love my tires/wheel set up...works every where w/good results and lasts. I have probably have 30 hrs. of bash time w/minimal wear.

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 07:19 PM

Yeah the Maxx Mashers sure are great tires, I hear they last a long time, I have had the Masher 2ks on my 'pede for 7 months already and I have only noticed a tiny amount of wear.

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 07:21 PM

brushlessboy16 08.18.2008 07:24 PM

i love the badalands :D

VXL TACO 08.18.2008 07:25 PM

Yeah they are cool tires, would look a little small and skinny on the Maxx, but great for a smaller truck or a buggy.

brushlessboy16 08.18.2008 07:28 PM

they arent that small actually but they are very light

Takedown 08.18.2008 07:54 PM

Trust me everything 1/10 tire and rim wise that fit the e-maxx and t-maxx will look small on the warhead... Unless you plan to get jumbo swamp's or kongs which I doubt. They weigh a ton to. I would reuse the maximizers after the m2ks wear out which they will pretty soon. I dont like prolines compound because of the fact that it wear so darn fast. For your next tire if you intersted you should take a look into some imex's. They last 3x as long as proline tires and have a good amount of grip.
