Feigao/Nemesis/Wanderer query

are these motors all exactly the same to the point if i wanted to run two i could run a nemesis 8L next to a Feigao 8L and one wouldnt be carrying the other?

cheers

brushlessboy16 08.20.2008 10:58 AM

same exact motor-differnet color

Arct1k 08.20.2008 11:08 AM

But a waste of time you are better off selling the 8L and getting a single better bigger motor...

id have to sacrafise RPM's to do that ;)

thanks for the reasurance brushlessboy16

Arct1k 08.20.2008 11:49 AM

Yes but gear up - I presume you are working on an emaxx or esavage? Post up your setup...

Why not look at a Medusav2 60mm 2000kv... on 4s geared 22-24/66?

Not only do you save the motor but you also save buying an esc

First thing you have to learn is that an electric motor doesn't work like a nitro motor. You don't need RPM to get speed, that's what gearing is for.

Slow down a bit and let us help ya.

Sean 08.20.2008 01:13 PM

its a hyper 7 to enter in the worlds fastest RC max speed with that motor assuming its does the rated 2000 and assuming no losses 24/44 gearing is 100mph

problem being im using a MM ESC and it wont supply the amps it would need

hence doubling up as i dont fancy my chances of getting a MMM in time

i now next to nothing about nitro and a fair bit about electic sure i could gear it up but my old reliable MM wouldnt be so reliable any more

Arct1k 08.20.2008 01:17 PM

Fair enough - Pure speed comps are very different in terms of setup - I would look at 2x medusa 50 3300's on MM's on 4s with rx battery...

PS is that zx5 jump digitised - a lot of pixelation around the car in the air...

Sean 08.20.2008 01:28 PM

i already have an 8L though and they will be capble of going faster than im aiming for

cheers for the input guys much appretiated

B4maz 08.20.2008 01:33 PM

It would be a lot easier to use your MM in your ZX-5 instead of the big Hyper 7. Youre gonna pull a lot of amps in your Hyper 7 and you can get more speed out of the zx-5 with a less powerful setup. Are you on Fast-RC forums?

Sean 08.20.2008 01:40 PM

zx-5 wasnt going any faster than 74mph the plastic diffs saw to that went through about 4 diff sets at tonys (guy from fast-RC's) event last year.

im registered on it but havent really used it for a while been busy.

Sean 08.20.2008 01:56 PM

just been browsing the site it appears i still hold the record for electric scale appears i have a title to defend lol

Sean 08.20.2008 02:10 PM

would anyone like to put a number on how much current my 8L's will be drawning?

cheers

BrianG 08.20.2008 02:25 PM

Dual 8L motors geared high for top speed can draw quite a bit. I would make a rough guess at about 20-25A average with 150A+ bursts.

Sean 08.20.2008 02:33 PM

wicked so my 5000mah 20C lipo is enough to power both dont you love it when a plan comes together

brushlessboy16 08.20.2008 02:36 PM

should. definately put the system in the lazer though

Sean 08.20.2008 02:49 PM

nah the pastic gears cant hack the power besides i dont have it any more

MTBikerTim 08.21.2008 02:32 AM

So you are going to run just one pack?

Sean 08.21.2008 03:48 AM

yes thts the plan wpnt cause any problems will it?

bensf 08.21.2008 03:58 AM

Shouldn't if the C rating is high enough to supply the current for both motors.

Sean 08.21.2008 04:26 AM

is the max amps qouted for the motor the amps the motor can take before it gets damaged?

so if brian is even half close it should be fine
