Sucker for a good deal...CRT 1X

Well thanks to Arct1k in the good deal thread I found another project I couldnt pass up...is it worth the $150 I paid?...came just like you see it with a body also....tying to deside if I should put the 1515/2.5d/s in this on 6's with my new MMM I have coming and use my Medusa 36-60-2000 in my erevo with the mm on 4's or vice versa.....looking to race and sometimes bash ans sometime speed runs....I ran BrianG script on this CRT with the 2.5d on 6's with 48/14 and it seems to scream....can you tell by the pictures what spur I have? and this has no tranny?...is this like direct drive?

give me some input please like esc placement

I have only experience with traxxas products (revo's, emaxx, stampedes, rustlers, bandits) and I must say this ofna is a horse of a differant color....the construction as I'm sure you know is mostly metal and everything looks much more .....shall I say professional looking

Arct1k 08.20.2008 03:18 PM

This is a centre diff - i.e. on Brians script direct drive 1:1.

The ESC should mount up directly on the top plate - That is what the tail is for.

Just count the spur....

It does need some cleaning up - the rx/sevro plate is a bit messed up - you don't need the CF and mikes support.

Also seems to be a random nitro motor mount left in place.

Worth getting the side pods but a good deal for 150

So I can remove that CF plate out from underneath the aluminum one correct?

the plastic peice that sits in front of the battery tray (left front) this can be removed?

are you refering to the mud guards that came with it?

big greg 08.21.2008 04:20 PM

that is a hell of a truggy, and for 150$ thats a steal, i run the 1515 1y in mine and love it, tons of power, o and the stock spur is 62t dunno if thats the stocker tho

lucias 08.21.2008 06:47 PM

I think you got a deal the conversion pieces new would be close to what you paid..

I have and 8ight I just finished and I run a 1515 2.5 on 5s and have a had blast with it.. I run also run a 46t kyosho gear in my center diff...

Thunderbruiser 08.22.2008 04:48 AM

that looks like the stock center spur which is 66 teeth

TDC57 08.25.2008 12:47 PM

WOW..:surprised: Looks like a great project.. Keep the updates coming..

Steal of deal.. Great find / buy..

Finnster 08.29.2008 08:58 AM

Nice deal. :)

I remember that was my toughts when I got my 1st nice non-TRX RC. Wow, everything is metal and so tough. Granted I still had a lot of fun w/ my Revo, but makes you realize how cheezy some of the TRX engineering is after you've played with something else.

bustitup 08.29.2008 09:19 AM

yes it looks real stout....I think i'm going to run this with my medusa 60/2000 on 4's with mm/bec....can anyone suggest gearing to get it to 45mph?

cheesecake 08.30.2008 04:44 AM

thats a steal of a deal and yes thats the stock spur gear its a 62 tooth spur gear. my only recomendation for that truck is king headz steering top plate. the carbon fiber one is weak.

cheesecake 08.30.2008 04:47 AM

on 4s with a 18 tooth pinion it says a top speed of 43.67

thats weird I did it and got 47.63 with MT crimefighters with .25 ballooning

on 6's it says 71mph holy bajeeesus

big greg 08.30.2008 07:01 PM

yea i run a 13t with my 1515 1y its about 40 mph, it wierd tho, faster than what the calc say

BL_RV0 08.30.2008 07:18 PM

:surprised:
That's a hell of a deal!!!
If it was me I'd put the Medusa in the E-revo and the Neu in the CRT. Also, try and gear for low 40's. Anything higher will be high temps!

BL_RV0 08.30.2008 07:19 PM

Also, lost the CF radio tray, that little fiberglass piece to the left of the radio tray, and it seems that next to the battery box there is a stray nitro motor mount there... Take that out as well.

it is!

I only had time to take a few laps today before we ran out of daylight, but man....its awesome.

The CRT runs very well too. Nice clean layout.

His son will run even better now that we sorted out the steering issue.
(transmitter settings a bit off)

I cant wait to get back out there.

thanks again for the invite Nick!

that track is awesome.

your boy had a rough go with his MM today ;

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...m/IMG_1485.jpg

casper came out...weird because his temps were about 120-130F every time we temp checked.

Arct1k 11.12.2008 12:36 AM

BUT I don't see an extra cap - The MM really needs one for 1/8th scale use - I had three toast without one...

bustitup 11.12.2008 01:21 AM

hmmmmm......dont ever remember reading that anywhere.....is there a thread on the proper way to do this?

hoovhartid 11.12.2008 02:26 AM

a thread i started awhile ago went down that road...
maybe it will help;
