Got rained out today and cleaned out some shelves and found this EMAXX chassis!
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01335.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01340.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01343.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01342.jpg ...there is a plastic bracket that holds down the steering servo,it is broken and needs to be re-made from aluminum or titanium...i need help finding a machine guy!!!...any help would be great!...i will install front and rear VBS and racerX suspension tonight and post more pics tomorrow!!... here is the broken thingy!!http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01349.jpg it goes here>>http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01350.jpghttp://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01351.jpg |
wow:surprised:nice built:yes:
|
:gasp::oh::surprised:
its awesome, how many of those pletty's do you have:wink: |
I remember that chassis. I always wanted to get one but got distracted with other builds. I wonder if Emaxxler or maxxler is still making them
|
Looks great! Awsome custom work.
|
I want one.
Metalman could help you with the brace thingy Im sure. I think a better idea would be to send it to Mike so he can make his own version to sell- maybe alter the steering servo arrangement a little and then crank those babies out like theres no tomorrow. I have a couple questions: 1) how long is this chassis compared to the lightening with UE monoblock- end to end including skids. 2) It appears to be designed to use UE VBS bulks judging by the skids- but can it utilize normal maxx style skids so that normal bulks can be mounted. I'd love to know as much as possible about this chassis and its designer- would be awesome to have something simliar that could utiltize Mikes upcoming slipperential. |
I wish I could "find" things like that when I cleaned my workshop........
That's probably the nicest looking Emaxx chassis I've seen. Especially if you follow the "simpler is better" method. I think if I could get one I would build an Emaxx right now. :oh: |
Holy crap!
If I could find one of those chassis's around, I WOULD be building a emaxx! That is one sick chassis! |
this one is set up for VBS but fron and rear section can be replaced with standard bulk pattern...
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01339.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...DSC01340-1.jpg it is same exact length as LIGHTNING w/ mono http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSC01358.jpg |
Cool, cheers for that.
I did some digging, and it seems Maxxler didnt make too many of these, and theres only one picture of it fully built up. I'd love something similar, though perhaps with a wider bottom plate, and longer in general (my Imex tyres are so wide that the truck doesnt look long enough in relation to the width). Have fun with the build though, should turn out great. |

Someone here should tool that chassis up in cad, Id buy one in alu, or CF, both is even cooler! And then black it out, so ano all the other parts:mdr: |
i ordered 2 5s 4800 ZIPPY-R lipo's today....parallel:whistle:
|
That chassis is awesome. Pretty much exactly what I would want for an E-Maxx. I might have to draw up something similiar in Solidworks...
|
is this the only prototype?...i searched the forum and cant find anything?
|
Looks that way- you have a one of a kind truck :yipi:
|
Wow simple but looks awesome.....
|
There are more of these around but not much. He only made enough for him and his friends and only sold several pieces. This is the first public build of one.
|
WOW
That is badass! Pletts are such a cool looking motor too. They really dropped the ball with the servo mount tho! What gives? That piece is so out of place... but this thing must be worth it's weight in some illegal substance lol. |

Very nice Matt. What body is that?
|
This is one of the best trucks I have every seen man... Simple and clean..
|
Damn... those are great looking trucks. How do you decide which one to drive?
|
just sold all my matched Nimh batt packs and chargers!....my first set of Lipo's are on the way( i need hyperion duo still)!...the body is J-concepts...i also collect custom bodies!:eyes:
|
I think Im going to be sick....
Got anymore of those setback rear arms floating around? I'll happily releave you of them, and the Racer X rear knuckles/ upper arms too... |
Beautiful!
:great: |
I have seen a simular chassis in the BK's pictures site. I would like to know if you can make a chassis like that for me, but that will work with an 1/8 scale truggy front and rear diffs.
|
sorry no more setbacks, vbs or Bigmaxximums....how about the HighImpact fronts!!...those are even harder to find!!...i am,looking into having some of the CarbonFiber/Aluminum EMAXX chassis made, maybe 50?...some for VBS and some for stock tmaxx bulks!...........i sent the broken steering servo holder off to a guy for re-manufacturing....something not BS!

There's one on ebay right now. I have a spare set of setbacks and racerx but they're not for sale :lol:. |
I aint paying that much for them!
|
wow, wow, and wow. I've dug and searched and googled and never have I seen that chassis. Ultimate K.I.S.S. design. (keep it simple, stupid) And a single driveshaft! Wow again. Thanks Plettys, for the cool share and build. Can I look through your spare parts sometime?
|
I think that chassis would go sooo well with the gorilla max shock towers and all that, would be super low CG, and look crazy nice!
But that thing is insane! Dang! You have way to much money for rcs LOL |
Yea its very nice, I would have a cooze cooze blowout to see a gmaxx suspention kit with flm bulks a neu1515 mgm combo sitting in it. I almost miss my gmaxx...almost!
