I got into the hobby around late october!! its been one year and i ammassed a nice colection!! First car i got was a mini-t!

Basketti 10.29.2005 08:13 PM

I got into the hobby about march-april last year. I dont have a collection lol! but i've had a mad force, then a savage, then another savage, then my emaxx. now the emaxx is my only rc, i cant afford to keep more than one.

squeeforever 10.29.2005 08:17 PM

i've been into it for about 5 years now. i've acquired 5 rc and have almost enough spare parts for a revo to build a 3rd. (other 3 rcs are e-maxx, hpi rs4 rally, and losi xxx bk all of which are for sale ;))

nbcaznmaster 10.29.2005 08:22 PM

nice, well technically i started when i was 10! cuz thats hwen i go tmy ELECTRIC RUSTLER, then i lost intrest for about 5 years! lol.

Heres the cars i had during the whole time:

electric rustler
mini-t
nitro rustler
2nd nitro rustler
duratrax max st
e-maxx
rs4 pro 2
matt francis
rc18t
revo
2nd revo
3rd revo

Final colection

rc18t

coolhandcountry 10.29.2005 08:28 PM

I take it you like the revo squee. I got into rc when I was young but left for a while cause of money. I got back into it about 3 years ago with nitro got upset with nitro and sold it all. I have got back into the rcing again with electric. Emaxx last xmas. I have 2 emaxxes 1 ofna buggy and a monster gt. all electric. May soon have a stampede and rustler.

@nbc master
If you have such a collection why beg for a bl system?

nbcaznmaster 10.29.2005 08:36 PM

OH, i keep selling/trading/buying new ones al the time!

squeeforever 10.29.2005 10:00 PM

well stop buying and start saving!

@coolhand: yes as a matter of fact i do. i love the revo actually. actually i bought a new revo and loved it so much that i started looking for another to convert or to have as a backup for racing. i finally found one of ebay. it was a roller with almost enough parts to build enough and was only 220. not bad if you ask me. and then there are the parts one would aquire when upgrading.

One year active and STILL no 9920... I guess you will be slaughtered till death with one some day..

Re~Mix 10.30.2005 10:46 AM

Started RC at age 12, and have since owned:

Traxxas 4-tec
Team Losi XXX-T
Team Losi XXX-4
Team Trinity T-Spec
Team Losi XXX-T

as of now I own the two xxx-ts, but looking for something else to run on a 4200.

nbcaznmaster 10.30.2005 11:03 AM

Y onroad for ur first car? I would think every1 would get an offroad.

Nick 10.30.2005 11:36 AM

7 years ago I started. :)

First R/C was the orgional Tamiya King Blackfoot,
Flying Point Probe
Associated TC3
Traxxas Rustler
Traxxas E-Maxx

nbcaznmaster 10.30.2005 11:43 AM

Nick 10.30.2005 04:03 PM

No, I sold it for about £50. I doubt they are worth anything, they aren't that old and they have released the newer version, the "Xtreme".

Serum 10.30.2005 04:05 PM

Losi have re-released the xx4 WE.that'd be my choice.i'm very tempted,maybe with a x-5 conversion.imagine that car with MF2 arms,hubs,dogbones and axles,2.2 wheels and tyres,8 or 10 gp2200 and basic 4200.
Oh,and plenty of spare belts:rolleyes:

nbcaznmaster 10.30.2005 05:44 PM

lol, vintage!

Re~Mix 10.30.2005 06:50 PM

Actually, that car is very strong belt wise. Hopefully they get the kevlar and heavy duty stuff in it, I might buy one.

If it's not updated with threaded shocks and titanium goodies, then i'll pass

coolhandcountry 10.30.2005 07:02 PM

For some reason I think my first rc was a golden arrow. It was a buggy. I thought I had something. Man that thing was slow to my ggmaxx.

Gustav 10.30.2005 07:10 PM

@Re~Mix,I'd bet the new belts would be fine too.As far as the x5 conversion goes i'd actually leave it as it is with center motor,it's not like it'll be short of acceleration anyway;)

i might ask Mike if he can get hold of one. They say limited production but once they see the demand you can bet it won't be.I heard the wishbones now have the new cross bracing/webbing for more strength, they've been 'cleaning up the molds' any way due to the x5,so there could be a few little tweaks here and there.

Here's the spec:

Re~Mix 10.30.2005 07:58 PM

Well, it does seem to have all the goodies. I may have to look into that, but $350 is a heafty fee. I wonder what mike can do for me? A xxx-4 G+ almost seems better currently.

For a smooth track, the XXX-4 G+ is a better vehicle. For rough tracks, the XX-4 should be the ticket. The tracks I run on are rough, so I may consider the XX-4.

squeeforever 10.30.2005 08:10 PM

whats an x5 conversion?

Gustav 10.30.2005 08:36 PM

It's a single belt conversion for the xx4.Supposed to combine the superior suspension and handling of the xx4 with the single belt drive of the xxx4,better acceleration and easier to work on.

The handling balance of the xx4 is much better than the xxx4,uses a 3+3 saddle pack(x5 uses 4+2 as the motor is no longer central).Much quicker rough track car too.Alot of people say the xx4 is the best handling 4wd racer ever.

squeeforever 10.30.2005 08:39 PM

onbody have a link?

Gustav 10.30.2005 08:47 PM

These are the people that make the x5 conversion:http://www.4wdrc.com/

This is a good source for Losi info too:http://www.losibk2.com/forum/html/home.php

Re~Mix 10.30.2005 08:48 PM

To which? The x5? 4wdrc.com/index.htm

I'm looking to run the car in the neighborhood actually, lawns, park, street. Race occassionaly, but i don't think they'll enjoy being smoked by brushless. I'm think the xx4 would be better since it handles the rougher stuff.

nbcaznmaster 10.30.2005 10:55 PM

nice! too bad im into electric MT!

rctruckz 11.04.2005 08:36 PM

Think i got into the hobby when i was about 9yrs old (im 29 now!) but i had breaks in-between.. family/jobs etc :)

I had RC cars before that but it was when i was about 9yrs old i had my very 1st "decent" RC model which was a Tamiya Hot Shot II 4WD (still remember it now!), followed by various other Tamiya's, then I ventured into the nitro scene with my 1st being a Marder (damn were these things ugly & performance was worse!) but still, i enjoyed it & from then on I had a few different Nitro's (mainly trucks) & never went back to EP, run times annoyed me & i liked the idea of a real engine making my trucks move :)

But now ive gone a step further & this is probably my last stop! 1/6 scale FG Monster Beetle Pro, love the thing, I still have 2 nitro trucks but im gunna give them to my kids as part of they're xmas box, just gunna get new wheels/body's for them & do a nice spray job for em :-)

Ive also been interested in RC Planes/Helicopters but never went through with buying one (mainly because im from UK & weather sucks!) but i do a have an RC tug boat that im in middle of building, started it about 2 yrs ago & its still not finished! ..im just doing bits on it when im bored to pass time :)

lol, i just googled to find a pic of a hotshot 2:
$820 on ebay! ! why did i sell mine for about £40! ....oh i remember, it was about 18 yrs ago!

anywayz heres a nice pic of it...was a classic!

nbcaznmaster 11.04.2005 08:49 PM

lol, its an EXPENSIVE classic.
