Looks like the Pimp is all wet...

So it appears that i will be riding out Hurricane Gustav... I have a bunch of supplies, 40 gallons of gas and a generator. My house does not flood but I expect my business to take 5-6 feet of water. Luckily all of the r/c is upstairs there!

So If you guys do not hear from me for a month or so, it is because the Dell is under construction, just like 3 years ago with Katrina...

This is going to suck, but at least I am prepared, or I think I am. Power should be going out on Monday, so I will be here till then... Answering questions and trying to inject a bit of humor!

bdebde 08.31.2008 01:07 AM

Good luck Linc

sikeston34m 08.31.2008 07:31 AM

Linc, I think it might be a good time to go visit some relatives.

From what they are saying, this one is going to be bad.

magman 08.31.2008 07:46 AM

TexasSP 08.31.2008 10:28 AM

Good luck linc! We are all on alert here as well but looks like the russian hurricane likes LA better. The idiots have already cleared out the water in every store in TX already though so guess I will be drinking out of the bath tub if it makes it here!

Seriously though, if you need any assistance give a shout.

BL_RV0 08.31.2008 11:25 AM

Linc, I'm so sorry to hear. Best of luck to you, and hope your business is okay!

rchippie 08.31.2008 11:36 AM

James you & your wife please be careful.

E-Revonut 08.31.2008 11:51 AM

Good luck Linc! Even if your missing for a couple days the forum will lose a lot of humor and knowledge. So many people hate the weather here in central NY but for the most part we have it made. So what if we get a little snow and can't drive for a day or so, at least we can live through it and our houses survive it. You guys get the worst weather possible down there and I give you cedit for sticking it out and staying!

BrianG 08.31.2008 12:01 PM

Take care!

suicideneil 08.31.2008 12:11 PM

Indeed, keep safe, and tie everything down that you can.

gramey 08.31.2008 12:59 PM

:smile:If you live near the Titleist factory shoot any looters you see, Pro V 1 golf balls were in short supply after Katrina!!!
In all seriousness we bitch about the weather here in the U.K. but at least we don't have to put up with hurricanes, don't get stuck it's not worth it, get out if you have to but stay safe whatever you do.

Robert 08.31.2008 01:48 PM

Good luck and be safe. Have fun with the boats if you have the opportunity to.

lutach 08.31.2008 04:05 PM

I've been through a few Hurricanes down in Florida and I was able to actually enjoy the beach. Good waves to surf and body board.

I'll be here if you need any help brother.

lincpimp 08.31.2008 05:09 PM

I should be fine, but thanks for the concern!!! I have all the supplies I need, and have moved as much as I can at work. I still think I will get a few feet of water there, but hopefully it is better than Katrina.

I doubt that i will have much time to play with r/c. Lucikly for me the largest body shop in town is going to take a bunch of water, so I will be busy for a few months...

BL_RV0 08.31.2008 05:14 PM

:yipi:
At least something good will come of this upcoming mess...
Business!

BlackedOutREVO 08.31.2008 05:28 PM

Hurry! Send me any rc's that might be in danger, I will keep good care of them:na:

Stay safe man! That stinks!

maxair45 08.31.2008 11:14 PM

Stay safe and best of luck.

Takedown 08.31.2008 11:42 PM

Hope you guys are making the right choice and that the worst cae senario doesnt happen. Many luck to you guys.

lincpimp 08.31.2008 11:49 PM

We will be fine, local weather stations have a bunch of experience and I fared very well during Katrina... Save for 5.5 feet of water in my shop:diablo:

Gee 09.01.2008 02:51 AM

I'll take a couple motor and maybe a mm or mmm. You better keep them. Your gonna want to play after all the cleanup. Make the best of it and snuggle up.

bensf 09.01.2008 02:59 AM

Have any RC Boats?

bdebde 09.01.2008 03:10 PM

Still with us linc? or just no power?

brushlessboy16 09.01.2008 03:35 PM

Best wishes linc

bensf 09.01.2008 04:22 PM

_paralyzed_ 09.02.2008 11:20 AM

brushlessboy16 09.02.2008 11:55 AM

Go old fashioned and just throw rocks

Fast5sRevo88 09.02.2008 12:45 PM

Buckshot works better! The water is fairly calm once it comes over the levees, good time to run a hydro:lol:.

Still here, bad news though. Wind took the roof off my shop, and most of my r/c collection. I found some stuff, but mostly pieces. Kinda funny, I really made a mess of the surrounding couple of blocks. It must have been a tornado, nothing else was really damaged. Guess I will be out of the hobby for a while... Sucks:diablo:

trev3813 09.02.2008 06:59 PM

Awe, that suck linc, best wishes to ya, hope you find most of it!

What's_nitro? 09.02.2008 07:12 PM

That will definitely put a dent into your r/c time. At least you're OK.
