Looks great Chris! I cant wait for a video of it on 4s.

Krawlin 09.12.2008 11:40 PM

And since this is a build thread, I guess I should start posting updates about it.....

I have started putting a full set of RPM arms on the truck (its very tedious work too.....)

and I should get my new Protek 4000 mAh 2S 30C pack back from A-Main soon... I have one of the 2S packs still, but I had to send one of them back to A-Main because it came puffed in the mail. Should have it back by about Tuesday or Wednesday.

Also in desperate need of some of those UE SuperMaxx Dual Rate Springs, because they are the only ones I could find that came with stiffer rating on them. And UE says they are out of stock..... :grrrrrr:

Ahhhh get some shrink or tape on that y connector you are asking for a short...

Already taken care of. Those pics of the brushless setup are about a week old, all of the bugs and small things like that have been fixed.

Takedown 09.12.2008 11:50 PM

Then we need updated pics.

Just settle down Ryan.....

I will probably take some good pics of it tomorrow.

And don't be mad if its dirty in the pics tomorrow, I don't bother to clean it much:whistle:, so just a warning, lol

Takedown 09.12.2008 11:55 PM

You know what they say "a clean r/c goes faster than a dirty one".

Hah! When your driving in all dirt, I think a dirty RC would be better than a clean one. Besides, it looks better with some dust on the wheels and body, and some on the inside. Proves the truck is really bashed alot.

Lol, you actually have to clean yours? In all of your videos you are running on grass and pavement, doesn't seem like you would have alot to clean off of them....

Thats exactly my point... I enjoy cleaning my r/c's because ussually theirs not much to clean. Once in awhile I'll find a mudhole or some dirt and then I have a fun 2 hrs cleaning it top to bottom. :whip:

Wow, you actually enjoy cleaning your RC's? I can't stand cleaning them. My 1/8 nitro buggy is the only RC that I actually keep clean because nitro fuel/exhaust and dirt tend to ruin stuff.

Anyway, does anyone out there have a set of UE SuperMaxx Dual Rate Springs? Because UE says they are out of stock and I really really need a set..... PM me if you have a set or post here....

Krawlin 09.14.2008 02:06 AM

Got all of the RPM arms on my Maxx today! Kinda lost the stealth look with the blue arms, but you can blame Takedown for that, he is the one that talked me into getting the blue ones.

And here is a real testament to Traxxas quality for ya.... got a pack of their stainless steel hinge pins (e-clip style) and was putting on the right rear lower arm, the last one, and one of the darn hingepins was too short! The other lower rear one was the proper length, but the other one was about 3/16'' shorter! So I sat at my work area pouting for the moment and having this face - Then I just put some spare front lower hinge pins(e-clip style) on there until I get some ones that are all the proper length.....

Tomorrow I will try to get some pics of it in action if the weather permits.

BL_RV0 09.14.2008 10:00 AM

Yeah, I kinda regret doing that now........ but blame Ryan (Takedown), he is the one who talked me into getting them!

Arct1k 09.14.2008 10:41 AM

Nothing that some RIT can't take care of...

BL_RV0 09.14.2008 10:43 AM

After as much of a pain in the @$$ and as long as it took to put those arms on there, I am not taking them off unless I break one!

Takedown 09.14.2008 11:03 AM

I think blue RPM arms look killer. Apart from what everyone has to say they look good to me.

Yeah probably Tuesday, if I am unlucky, as late as Thursday or Friday. I really have no way to track them on the internet so I will call them tomorrow probably and find out where it is.

Takedown 09.14.2008 01:03 PM

Sounds good...

BL_RV0 09.14.2008 01:24 PM

PT's?

Great video. I bet the MM was scorching after that run with all the hard braking you do...

Actually not at all. It was about ~120*, and the caps were the hottest part, at about ~135*. And the motor was around ~130*

BL_RV0 09.15.2008 09:18 AM

Nice video.

Krawlin 09.15.2008 10:26 PM

Thanks guys!

I finally got my Protek LiPo back today. Alot sooner than I thought too.

Anyway, I had one of them on the balancer, and I didn't know what the balancer should be doing, like what lights should be on and all that, so I was telling Takedown on AIM what it was doing.... and he is like "Thats not good, thats an error, one of your cells is messed up....." Well I make a video, and show him..... and he goes "I forgot about the green light... watched the video, bad news...." and right then this horrible feeling of failure came over me, and then he comes back with "Its working " And then I was extremely happy yet I wanted to punch him in the face for scaring me and making me feel like a failed......:rofl::na:

Anyway, thanks for your help Ryan, getting me to finally gone LiPo. I just have to get used to waiting for the packs to balance and the fact that it takes my charger FOREVER to do the voltage ramping or whatever it does for LiPo's. I come from all Ni-MH's so I am used to charge and run.

I will get a video of some speed runs with this monster tomorrow most likely.

:whistle::oops:

Takedown 09.15.2008 10:36 PM

No problem chris. That one error was an epic error by me. I completely forgot about the blinking green quick balance light. I thought you were talking about the error light.

You helped too, but Ryan was the one who actually convinced me because he was the one who told me ALL THE TIME to get lipo.......

But yes, you helped some.
