RC-Monster Xray XB808 mount pictures

Hey guys. Just thought I'd share a few photos of Mikes latest creation. Its a new mount for the Xray XB808. Its got a new feature on it that is a first for the electric motor mounts. It is a 2 piece mount that makes the dif accessible from the top for easy maintenance and tuning.

Here are a few pictures. I ran this prototype version last week and was perfect. It wont be available in the store for a few weeks, but its comming soon. I hope he eventualy gets around to updating all of the mounts with this 2 piece desing. Its like a factory piece. Nice work Mike.

Just thought I'd share. Heres some pics.

wow that is sweet i hope he makes the rc8 mounts like that i went to switch diff fluid today and removed the top plate and then realized it all has to come out

nl12 09.19.2008 11:24 PM

good deal, I am glad I waited to convert an 808, does this use the 808 height mount, or do you still have to get the XB8 part?

jhautz 09.20.2008 12:14 AM

It's sized to work with the 808 height center dif mount.

TDC57 09.20.2008 01:17 AM

I'm extremely jealous you got that before me… LOL.LOL.LOL….

jhautz 09.20.2008 01:39 AM

Dont worry. It shouldnt be too long.

cheesecake 09.20.2008 01:40 AM

lol go to sleep

jnev 09.20.2008 01:48 AM

I am loving that design. If only he came out with these nice innovations earlier. Well hopefully by my next conversion, all the mounts will be like this.

Great job Mike! :great:

Wow! I think this is the first time for him to cut a motor mount out of a 7075 grade aluminum. It'll be a bit expensive that way, but stronger for sure.

BlackedOutREVO 09.20.2008 02:18 AM

Thats pretty nifty! I like it!

Looks expensive LOL, might as well anodize them black to! =)

MetalMan 09.20.2008 03:44 AM

Looks very nice indeed! Jeff, can you tell if the mount is spaced such that you could fit mechanical brakes without a spacer (when using smaller pinions)?

DRIFT_BUGGY 09.20.2008 06:23 AM

That looks sweet

No. You would still need the motor spacer if you want to run small pinions with the mechanical brake disks. Its no different from any of the other motor mounts in that regard. But the spacer Mike sells works perfectly. I have been running it for a long time on my truggy and its perfect.

2pc Design is AWESOME! I hope other mounts get the 2pc treatment.

magman 09.20.2008 12:59 PM

That design is perfect....easy access to diff. changing gears,etc...

BL_RV0 09.20.2008 01:11 PM

Argh... I now need to replace 3 RCM mounts.

Semi Pro 09.28.2008 10:40 PM

tc3_racer_001 09.29.2008 01:32 AM

MTBikerTim 09.29.2008 02:04 AM

Mike should be making a mount for the LRP S8-BX and the SH Z-Car at the moment, I wonder if it will be 2 piece.

Njord 09.29.2008 04:24 PM

Count me in for 2 8ight motormounts of this design, 7075 alu top!!!

Bobby363 11.13.2008 11:43 PM

Are these out yet??

jhautz 11.14.2008 12:11 AM

They are supposed to be at the heat treater right now. Mike has been expecting them back any day for a while now, allong with the RC8 and RC8T chassis. Any day now hopefully.

(Ive been bugging him too. I want another one :mdr:)

DickyT 11.14.2008 02:31 PM

I love the design! Hopefully Mike will do the others that way. I'd replace the mugen one I just bought from him in a heartbeat!

rschoi_75 11.15.2008 01:22 PM

A+ work there.

ffactory666 11.16.2008 06:32 AM

Great work again from Mike , think most of us would be happy to replace our current one piece RCM mounts with his new two piece designs if he decides to do so .

bustitup 11.21.2008 04:32 PM

any news on this mount?

jhautz 11.24.2008 05:56 PM

Supposedly back from the annodizer and the kits are being made up along with the RC8 and RC8T chassis setups. Hopefully they are in the store in a day or 2.

Cmon Mike! I want another one. lol

RC-Monster Mike 11.24.2008 10:35 PM

Got boned again by the anodizer - nothing is here yet! We used a new source for the anodize process - they aren't as fast as the usual source - hopefully the quality justifies the time, but the time is starting to get on my nerves!
