I've got one running two 3S TP 2500mAH lipos in my Rustler. Don't have much runtime on it due to lack of time to test. Will know more tomorrow.

That should be interesting a 6s MMM rustler. Just a v1 on 6s for me.

suicideneil 09.26.2008 05:32 PM

Note: MMM failures are not related to input voltage; they can die just as easily on 4s as they can 6s. Until the exact cause of failures is determined, assuming the voltage being used is too high is just plain daft....

are sure????i dont really unterstand why some failed and not...each esc had the same built....and same part....

killajb 09.27.2008 04:14 AM

I've been running mine (V2) in stock form on 6s for 3 weeks now with no issues.

gixxer 09.27.2008 05:07 AM

All 1:1 cars have the same build too, why do some go 300,000miles and some go 50,000? There are bound to be failures on everything. example anything that is cast could get an air bubble in it and wouldn't be detected on the outside, but when it fails you'd know, and the one right before and right after could be perfectly fine. Anything on this planet can fail at anytime for any reason - that's life and the sooner you come to realize and except that the sooner you will be able to enjoy life. Some MMM die at start up, some die after a few seconds, some after a few minutes, and some after a few hours. There's really no way of knowing, just know that if it does CC will take care of it!

TexasSP 09.27.2008 10:47 AM

Had mine on 6c Flightpower with a 2.5d since I bought it. All has been well.

Sammus 09.27.2008 11:32 AM

got two here run on 6s lipo and 7s a123 running box stock, probably an hour or so or more on each and no sign of trouble yet.

e-mike 09.27.2008 11:39 AM

lucky you are girls:lol:

but sometimes luck make a choice:party:....i had 3 v1 version and i sold it....the 3 unit still working...loll or the v1 have more failure rate....

i have one unit in the box...i tink replace my mm:yes:

e-mike 09.27.2008 08:23 PM

review of my third v2 ....wow...still running....the esc close to 3 hour(1 with a bec)i remove it and the it seems run cooler....strange...?!!(5f less)and i notice that....each time that the fan come to live i check the temp...112f at the air flow and 109f at the capacitor(i know they are under the case but just to give me a idea)....for those temps everything is ok!!!...i reach those temps on 25min of run time at 18 celcius outside .... however for my 2 failed unit when i checked the temp it was higher ....122f at the air flow and 130f to the capacitor.....and they failed :party:same outside temp and same set-up(1515 1.5d 6 cell lipo)

dont know why my 2 failed was hotter.....but i keep my finger cross for my third unit

Hey Mike, you know why your V2 still alive??????? Because it's me who break-in it, and i know the secret for a long lasting MMM.....................You only have to invert the input batterie wire and plug it on 22.2 volts:lol:

You'll have a beautiful firework, but after that, your MMM will last a longtime:whistle:

Hey Mike, keep it in shape, because i'll re-buy it when i'll have to replace my MM:intello:

im sure....that is the way to keep the mmm alive:whip:

Sammus 09.27.2008 08:47 PM

Would it definitely kill it you think? I've plugged my battery after soldering deans on backwards many-a-time with my sidewinders and mamba max and it didnt seem to hurt them...

Arct1k 09.27.2008 08:52 PM

I put 10s into a MM and CC bec in error without harm... Good job they design them for muppets!

david lamontagn 09.27.2008 09:09 PM

So i'am a muppets:intello::intello::intello::intello::rules: :rules::rules:

a other one dead but whit a bec on it!!!:oh:

VintageMA 10.02.2008 10:29 PM

I have 2 working V1's on 6S with internal BEC, but popped my first V2 on 6S 10 seconds after first initialization.

I refuse to use an external BEC with the MMM!!!! Really - what's the point?

If I want to use and external BEC, and a fan mod, and a cap mod - well..... - I'll do what I did after my V2 popped...... Go back to my modded MM with fan and CCBEC.

If I buy a 6S ESC with an internal BEC I am going to use it just that way. I appreciate the time (and money) that CC has had to eat with the problem they are having and I know that eventually the product will be rock solid just the the MM is now.

Once the V3 comes out and has been proved to be a solid controller I am going to send in my popped V2 for replacement and then when I get that back I will send in my V1 controllers 1 at a time as well for an upgrade.

In the meantime I have picked up a MGM E-series 8025 6S sBEC controller that just came in the mail today - I hope to get it soldered and programmed to run this weekend. We'll see how this one goes.

VintageMA 10.03.2008 11:41 PM

Just as a follow-up to my previous post to maybe help all the MMM owners out there feel a little better.

I soldered the connectors and hooked up the MGM esc and powered it on. It did the initial programming okay and just like my MMM V2 on 6S I ran the wheels just a little bit and then two huge sparks came out of the ESC and then nothing.

Very disappointing as this ESC cost almost twice that of the MMM.

I'll be contacting MGM support over the weekend, but it'll probably take at least a month with sending it back and getting a replacement.
